Duymon Posted May 16 Posted May 16 (edited) I'm not entirely sure what direction they're trying to go with this new legioss design but it's just not for me. Adding the gundam head and all the janky gundam bulk underneath in fighter looks really ugly. Also who blocks off half their front intakes by slapping large guns on the lerxes. I'll pass on the overstylized design and wait for my riobot stuff to ship and hopefully there's not crazy tariffs in the US at that time XD Edited May 16 by Duymon Quote
505thAirborne Posted May 16 Posted May 16 When you consider every single Legioss toy (excluding kits) ever made since the 1980's, just for once I would like to see a company, no matter who... just take the original 1980's Anime design and make that. By that I mean, no more, revamped or re-imagined designs. Take the lessons from Sentinel and make the originals, they clearly proved it's possible in 1/48 scale to make very detail, high quality and solid fitting toy with accurate, impressive landing gear. Gakken: Big, bulky, hefty and for its day, a true legend. (No leg or arm locking mechanism's.) CM's: Oof-magoof! (No leg or arm locking mechanism's plus other issues.) Toynami: Looks pretty good but a QC nightmare all around, terrible landing gear. (Then & now) Evolution Toy: The irony of the word "Evolution" in your company name. (Poor quality overall and the worst hands ever designed.) Sentinel: Overall, very high quality, sturdy, rock solid, fighter mode looks amazing, however it is a re-imagined design, not OG. (Unpainted pilot figures are the only real negative IMO.) BANDAI or ARCADIA: The ball is in your court, seriously, just imagine an ARCADIA or Bandai made Legioss. Quote
Mog Posted May 16 Posted May 16 I do love the tweaks Sentinel did to the design: compacted the fighter mode, redesigned the transformation process to shorten the nosecone on the armo-soldier mode. Part of me wishes there was an option to angle the wings parallel to the ground, instead of having that downward cant. But there’s enough there that it doesn’t look out of place with the original Legioss design. Quote

Shawn Posted May 18 Posted May 18 I believe this is one of the designers accounts https://x.com/sakichooboys https://www.instagram.com/sakichooboy/ The same team of Aramaki, Lil Golem, and Marcy from Sentinel will be commercializing this figure at 1/60 scale through T-spark Toyrise. We focused on making it easy to play with, transform, and expand. We plan to release many more in the future. https://x.com/sakichooboys/status/1922596757168374217 1/60 scale seems really really small for the Legioss doesn't it? Maybe if they don't make the transformation complicated like the Riobot 1/48 they could pull it off Quote
sh9000 Posted May 18 Posted May 18 (edited) 1/60 would probably be between the two sizes of the Gakken 1/55 Legioss toys and around the size of an HMR if Bandai ever made one. The 1/55s were nice for their time and I can see something that size updated in sculpt with full 3 mode transformation work. Edited May 18 by sh9000 Quote

daBlah! Posted May 20 Posted May 20 I encountered the issue with the Sentinel Legioss peg breaking on the stand while on display. Checked with Sentinel based on the info a few pages back. Got a response but seems they don't have the spare parts in warehouse now to cover a replacement. I've added a file to Cults to be able to 3d print a replacement part. https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/sentinel-riobot-legioss-stand-adapter-peg Quote

Someone's angling for a moonshot with their listing: I bought the trio of visual archives way back when. Never even opened them because I have zero display space. One day... Those listings stay around forever because they never sell. Listings for reasonable prices sell quickly, so you never see them. As a result, people only see the high prices and assume they must be what those items are worth, when the opposite is true. Quote
Mog Posted May 22 Posted May 22 I usually just filter to see what the sold prices are. Gives a pretty good gauge of a real selling price. Quote

tekering Posted July 9 Posted July 9 9 hours ago, lechuck said: Pose+ Legioss prototype now with colours. Gross. The circuit-board green internals clash badly with the royal blue exterior, and the new white stripes everywhere are an egregious eyesore. 7 hours ago, Grey728 said: This looks... incredibly expensive. "METAL series" certainly suggests as much. 🤕 Quote
Chronocidal Posted July 9 Posted July 9 (edited) Yeeeeaaaah, that's just way too much of everything. Too many markings, too many excessive details, too much garbage to potentially fall off, break, or otherwise fail to function. Also kind of feels like a meme in real time. "Tell me you know nothing about aircraft without saying you know nothing about aircraft." (I have no idea if any of those details have a line art basis, but at least with the 1/48 version I could pretend the internal structure made a lick of sense.) Really sad, honestly, I would have loved something in a bigger scale. Edited July 9 by Chronocidal Quote

DownIsUp Posted July 10 Posted July 10 The Pose+ makes me wanna look at past protos of theirs to see any deco differences between those and their released figures. I don't think they usually go this overboard on tampos, so I'm curious why they did so here. Quote

My imagination can't cope with inner-wing sculpting." Can’t please everyone. I'll take three in every color. Edited July 10 by 26662 Quote
MKT Posted July 10 Posted July 10 The new opening flaps at the wings, are the real vertical stabs on the Legioss. Because those stabs on the arms are comically tiny, much more so than Sentinel's. But gotta acknowledge how much Sentinel's Legioss have moved the goalpost since every Legioss after it are adopting the same basic proportions. Quote
Mog Posted July 10 Posted July 10 It is kinda silly that the wings have a circuit board look to the internals. That’s fine if it’s a miniature drone, but NOT for a full-sized plane. But regarding Sentinel, it’s a minor miracle they pulled off a smart redesign that addressed a ton of issues, allowed for some cool features (like an opening cockpit hidden under the head and in between the chest intakes), locks solidly into place for all modes, and can hold a damn pose better than most of the more modern releases.
