Yamato 1/60 VF-19 Fire Valkyrie (v2.0)

Recommended Posts

I know Graham is going to yet again accuse me of secreting acid from my fingertips, but my Kai has the worst case of leprosy imaginable.

-The thrusters in the ends of the shoulder pads fell out one day while I was out

-The blue crest on the mohawk simply fell off the other day after touching the toy for the first time in a month.

-The panels on the backs of the shoulders are always coming off at the slightest touch. No glue issues here as with the above but still very annoying.

Apparently, they just confirmed the release of the expected variants, so don't worry, you can re-buy them over and over! :D

Sooo.....as of now, through ONE full transformation, my VF-19 struggles to even stand. I think I must have gotten one of the worst cases of the ball joint issue, but its likely to pop up over time on others, and trust me, its frustrating beyond belief. Drop a full $300 after shipping for this thing, and it can't even stand

I can only manage a mute pose in Battroid, and Gerwalk can't even stand correctly unless i point the nose straight up or above. No aggressive GERWALK for me :(

The panels behind the shoulders always pop off for me too, and one of my shoulders cannot keep the speakers open without propping them up against the joint. Finally, my calf joint is ridiculously loose. The second I release the locking tabs in fighter mode, the entire leg drops at a heart racing pace. The first click is somewhat alright, but after that, it just swings down. Seriously, I know I am gonna get some hate here, but I don't think that much weight in solely the legs is warranted, at least on my sample

Seriously, you may be surprised here, but after a few weeks of handling, I think this is one of my least liked purchases that I've done in a long while regarding mecha. Oh yeah, almost forgot, my wing roots are featuring some stress mark issues as well, but thats not too big an issue. I am going back to my trusty VF-1, which, while it may not be as complex, can at least stand up <_<

Maybe forgoing ball joints for actual ratchets would alleviate some of these issues. I, personally, think I am gonna start to try some of Bandai's newer releases....

Will not be purchasing a Yamato anytime in the near future. I have officially been Yamato'd. Rant Over -_-

Sorry to hear that's been your experience. I have to say my copy is holding up really well. The joints that were a little loose out of the box, like the knee ratchets, remain so, but the other joints haven't loosened up any.

I'm still really enjoying it and will definitely be picking up a the other variants... especially if a Ride type comes out.

Mine is holding up really fine as well, all the joints are as tight as they should, I am very happy with VF-19.

Sorry to hear about yours, Archer. I wonder how possible you had all the potential problems a transformable toy can have in just one toy…

Just my luck I guess haha :p

It's not that I hate Yamato, just ones with ball joints :D

Judging from the pictures, I say that the chance of it playing anything that remotely sounds like music is slim to none. For that to work, it would require a power source and most likely a card reader.

Aweseome!

BTW, is the nosecone of the P different in any way? Because in that proto we see it in the same color as the new parts.

VF-19P's nosecone has little diamond shaped parts.

Also notice the different parts for the sides of the legs.

Is the 1st picture the Blazer?? I don't see the shoulder fins or the canards.

 Yes, it is, but the Blazer doesn't have shoulder fins nor canards...

The second picture is the VF-19P, which actually does.

do you guys think the vf-19P will be the whale pollen version (red)? I like the white version in fighter, just dont like the color of the shoulder in batroid mode, unless somehow Yamato makes it look good. Also wandering if there is any chance the sound boosters pak will somehow fit this too.

Finally moved back into my apartment in california, and don't have to worry about carrying new things with me, so the catchup buying has commenced. ^_^

Has to be the biggest order I've ever made with HLJ. Between this monster, the preorder for the new VF-25, and the various kits I ordered, I think I spent close to $700... but I'd been saving for a while at least.

Saddest part is though.. the armored1/72 VF-25 kits finally go on sale at 20% off.. and due to the change in exchange rate, it's just enough to put them right back at where the price was when they were first released. :(
