  2. If it's the latter, they must have a cradle of some kind to hold it during maintenance/ refurbishment downtimes.
  3. OK, lots more shows dropping now. The third season of MF Ghost has begun in earnest. The eurobeat's back with the OP Timeless Power... but is it really necessary to show the chubby race queen getting hit in the face with a packaged ham in the OP? They're finally starting to wrap up the plot they left hanging at the end of season two with an injured Katagiri who couldn't use 2nd gear falling way behind. They're really dragging this race out though, yeesh. It was 2-3 episodes last season and it's gonna be at least 3 this season too. Tamon's B-Side... jeez this girl Utage is thirsty AF. She's taken the "fangirl turns her room into a shrine" thing to the point of even having a poster of the titular idol on the ceiling over her bed. Honestly, it's part of what makes the comedy work. She's so absolutely obsessed with this idol that she refuses to reject him for being a real person with real problems and manages to come off as a bit of a heroic comedic sociopath while she's helping him because she can't bear to see him fail. It's cute, it's funny, and it's on the unconventional side. I quite like it. One new one I picked up is Champignon Witch, a light fantasy series about a feared and shunned, but generally harmless and well-meaning, young witch who makes a living brewing medicines for nearby towns and generally helping people. The people of the kingdom are wary or afraid of her because her magic causes poisonous mushrooms to spring up in her wake wherever she walks, which is also the reason for her unusual nickname "the Champignon Witch". Apparently there's some fantastic bigotry involved with the kingdom she's in being ruled by one faction or species of witches and her belonging to the other.
  4. Cool! So the mechs surfs.. I thought only the Macross Quarter does that lol.
  5. A little context, this is from the same MTMTE collection as "slightly more magenta" Hot Rod, not a regular retail release. It'll be a Target-exclusive. Also, this is the exact same figure as the one in the five-pack from... last year? 2024? I forget. So, for everyone who said, "I'm not buying four redecos of toys I have just to get that Hound," congratulations, this is your shot to buy Hound alone. For weaker-willed collectors like myself who absolutely did buy a five pack just for Hound, well, I guess I can sit this one out. EDIT: I should also mention that Scourge and Optimus Prime also going to be in that wave, and a second wave will include Megatron, Prowl, Starscream, and the Insecticons. My source only knows the listings and hasn't seen the figures yet, so I don't know what differences there will be, if any. Safe bet that Prowl will be a non-dead version of the dead Prowl, and Starscream will be based on the new Thundercracker mold, though. Hoping the Insecticons are tweaked to have more accurate decos (solid purple arms on Shrapnel, solid black arms on Bombshell, gray hips on Bombshell, etc). Oh yeah, and there's also this. It'll be Generations Selects, not MTMTE.
  6. One of the points of some debate WRT the Ikazuchi is whether that 300m figure is inclusive of the fins on the back. I tend to side with the school of thought that it isn't, since that allows the rest of the ship to be slightly larger and makes the fit for the bays easier. If I use your art there as a sample, the fin-less 300m is approximately 800px (so a resolution of ~0.375 pixels per meter). That makes the interior dimensions of the bays 85x32px, or approximately 32m x 12m. The Legioss Armo-Soldier's only 4.3m across the shoulders according to MOSPEADA Color Graffiti and a bit under 2m front-to-back meaning six ranks of Legioss's stacked side by side only gonna run ya 25.8m x 8m, meaning there's room for 'em to fit with the spacing seen in the anime in the 300m ship as long as the fins aren't part of that 300m. Making it 1/1000 at 35cm more or less aligns to the "the fins don't count" theory of its size. (That's a topic that the MOSPEADA and Robotech fandoms have chewed over many times in the past.)
  7. Not so much a 'toy...' Glamdring! Well, a replica anyway. I'm about 90% happy with the purchase. The balance is wrong, there's a slight bit of damage to the sheath and the inscription is a bit rough. But it'll do until I get a better one!
  8. OMG! Amazing Milia cel for sale. Sadly money doesn't grow on trees for me. Good luck to anyone who is able to get this one. https://www.ebay.com/itm/187887415022?_skw=macross+cel&itmmeta=01KEG3H4AJ1NWP8QSHAR4S654B&hash=item2bbef66eee:g:rHQAAeSwg5ppUIK~&itmprp=enc%3AAQAKAAAA8FkggFvd1GGDu0w3yXCmi1cYqEwrx39k0Y82y4FyrwqltY5BPmJC%2BngkQ4%2FnGjgykoiDBOQHgf00oRhFSc3klMONsAXLE7EFSGc4GwYfELZG910rWT%2FAAG1VNegqqU6Q3mHuudFk7L3KjvXavMGOJr7fmBM6PQR%2Ft6h7h4opITnlbBbtzPDm%2FhfNXQJjhAs4Vq2R6P3QRviedHd5RbSrhAJI2rQS4geweJQFJPsl1KvsnYQMIVEDiqUXQpYIPaUrtpChRGGWDsC9R786%2BaXGIgZY41lOWiJ8b%2FuoZKy0rO3iuoF9jIlMImv2M2vDV522NA%3D%3D|tkp%3ABk9SR77FxIP0Zg
  9. To make a long story slightly shorter, the Artmic stats don't align with the visual proportions of the line-art. Back when I made the Regults, I based the mecha size on a baseline, which is the Zentraedi soldier. If a soldier can't fit in the mech, the stated sizes are irrelevant. Similarly here, I had already made the Horizont and Garfish in 1/350, starting with the Legioss as the baseline. The fighter has to be able to fit in the Garfish hangars, and fit just so beneath the Horizont's lower hull and between the crew pods. Working from this line-art illustration, you can roughly make-out that one Ikazuchi launch bay holds 24 Armo-Soldiers. Now if you take this other animation style sheet shown below, you have a decent idea of the proportions of the carrier, based on the other mecha. Knowing that I have to cram 24 soldiers in one bay, a bay must be a minimum size, so either I must deform the ship, or upscale it to make it proportional. If you look at the image below, it shows you how big the Ikazuchi would be at 300m, and the bays are just way too small. Consequently, I have enlarged the ship because physics. I did goof though, the actual kit scale would be 1/1000 and not 1/2000. Fixed that.
  10. This newest episode gave game fans what was teased last season, the Deathclaws, and they look absolutely glorious. Seriously, I love how these things were brought to life, CG of course, but also some really impressive practical effects as well. The blend of CG and practical effects being used to bring this world to life is fantastic, absolutely the right way to go, especially the power armor, and seeing a T-45 brings me right back to Fallout 3, that armor was crap but looked great. Loving this season so far, it's more Fallout then season 1, thou shalt get distracted constantly indeed, it's just like playing the game, I'm loving it. Doesn't hurt that New Vegas was peak Fallout, well above 3, 4 and 76 of course, easily up there with 1 and 2, best Fallout game made IMO. I'm also loving that, so far, there's still no definitive answer to what ending is canon for Fallout New Vegas. The show has been really, really good about tip toeing around giving us definitive answers to what happened to House, The Strip, and of course the player character The Courier.
  11. One last thing to finish up was to make those CADs in the front of the underside of the canopy - being white against a black background made them stand out and I couldn't have the canopy opened without them. Luckily I built a few Hasegawa valkyries in flight mode which gave some nice small spare hydraulic actuator structs that I can scavange. That and the metallic pod underneath (don't really know what it is, my guess its some anti-stealth device to make the aircraft visible to civilian radar during training exercises and I can finally call this finished! I had wanted to complete it by the end of the year, but a week and half late is better than never. At least I've learned how to do the metallic greys for the F-22 & F-35 now. I'm really liking how this turned out, so different than when I had first planned to have a OOB build with the landing gears up in flight mode (because I saw how plain the landing gear details were and also it didn't come with pilots so I couldn't justify the flight mode, but when I started to detail the open bays, I found extra pilots in my FineMolds Phantom) I wished there were some decent aftermarket upgrades for these newer Chinese birds in 1/72 - but unfortunately everything I found was for 1/48. Now I'm not so afraid of my 1/72 Fujimi F-22 - really nice kit, but the landing gears are god awful, so simplistic and again lacks the torque links, so when I'm in the mood to beat myself up again, I might have to scratch build and detail those up myself as I can't find any detailed 1/72 gears for the F-22. Now I'm looking for a decent J-35 kit in 1/72, anyone heard of UMa model (I think they are a Hong Kong company)
  12. Yesterday
  13. Been following the slow burn that is Fallout S2....but things just got interesting during the last episode.... I have no knowledge on the game series, so just going with the flow.......soooooo.... ...anyways hope the slow burn episodes are out of the way for the remainder of the season...
  14. I'm 54, so I lived through the 80s experiencing some of the cool stuff from that era. Saturday cartoons as well as afternoon cartoons reigned supreme in my kid schedule. Ironically, I neither saw Robotech nor Voltron growing up. My wife grew up about an hour north of me and she watched Voltron. I guess our particular stations didn't have it. Anyway, that Monogram model was the only Mospeada/Macross/Robotech thing I owned as a kid, as I never owned Jetfire either.
  15. Chained Soldier Season 2 started, It was good return.
  16. I had an issue with my legion 7 2021 where one of the laptop speakers (the left) would cut out. Turns out on all the legion 7, the ribbon cable for the left speaker with come loose over time (heat, movement of laptop) I would re-seat the ribbon cable and it would again dislodge 8 months later. I put a fine piece of electrical tape over the ribbon near the connector, never dislodged again. This seems like pretty widespread on multiple lenovo models: Re-seat, cable (probably put some tape on it) Ground the trackpad to the chassis. The copper tape lenovo uses at the factory is flimsy causing the touch response to cut in and out so the electrical static build up seems to cause some issues if not grounded). this is the mod that a user on reddit used as a solution: (original and post mod pic)
  17. I have a feeling we're pretty much the same age, I got the Red Gakken Legioss aka Rook's Alpha and yes, best day ever!! That is until I got the SDF-1.
  18. Dude is one of the few that actually loves the sequels
  19. Just a couple of little knick-knacks to mess around with at my work desk: The Defiant is an old Hallmark Christmas ornament that no longer lights up. Brought it out for the holiday season and figured to just keep her out on display all year long.
