Super Macross Mecha Fun Time Discussion Thread!
Seto Kaiba replied to Valkyrie Driver's topic in Movies and TV Series
That's at a bit after 31 minutes into the movie, after the test montage and the first Sharon Apple concert. The scene where Isamu finds Dr. Neumann hiding out in what looks to be a either a supply closet trying to "kidnap" Sharon Apple. There's no clear event that led to the YF-19-2 being in such a state in the movie version, due to events being reordered. -
Well, there's Alita Battle Angel 2!! ....oh no, wait, no there isn't'....

Looking very impressive from that low angle @tekering. This may be the start of a whole city center for you! That Enterprise is going together just right @pengbuzz. I like the idea for the grillers.

Oddly, Anaconda looks more fun. Didn’t really care for the original, but kinda like the concept for this one

Couple toylines spring to mind here when it comes to SF designs, but not the ones everyone probably knows - "StarCom" and "MegaForce". I never had any of them but they stand out as having a relatively "realistic" (by I guess "Action Forc - ", excuse me, I mean "G.I. Joe" standards of "realistic") aesthetic for the time. Early "Britains Space" also arguably had a more "grounded", "2001" style look compared to the likes of say "Star Wars" or "Micronauts" - if you ignore the yellow/orange paint of the original "hero" vehicles (Britains normally made military, farm and construction vehicle toys so I wonder if they used what they had in stock... ). And while I'm getting lyrical about old, obscure British toylines - "Action Man Space Ranger"! -
UPDATE: Over the holidays, someone was kind enough to send me a couple of projects (much thanks to them!) as to keep my mind from going to complete $#!7 with current circumstances. Here are both of them: And I started the first a few days ago: Have yet to do decals and painting: Keeping it in components so I can actually do this without driving myself any further up the wall than I already am: Planning on doing transparent purple over the inner grille to replicate the lit "warp effect" without lights. Stay tuned...

Was that after his first flight with the 19, or when Guld shot him? I suspect given how many other pilots wrecked, they probably had a considerable store of spare parts and fabrication/ repair/ maintenance equipment onhand. It does help that the fighter is robust though. Yeah... probably replace a few parts and clean the paint really. I just wanted an excuse to post that snippet from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. -
well, had some Chrsitmas money and it was on Mandarake for 20000, so I snatched it up. Should have it by weeks end Looks like generally people dig it, and i love the DX 19Adv and YF-19 anyway so Im feeling pretty good about this one

You're making quick work of that Plamax kit! 👍 As work winds down at the end of the year, I have more time to devote to this huge puzzle I've saddled myself with... Today I sorted out all the miscellaneous loose parts I've salvaged from the wreckage. As with any puzzle, it's thrilling to find where broken parts fit together to form complete structures. Having worked well past sundown, I finally have a corner completed, where two walls meet the roof... ...and the condominium is slowly taking shape. 🙂

These new Alpha fighters should be in a Sentinels sequel where Jack Archer, Helena Chase fight the Tirolians. They find hidden in the Flowers of Life is a newly created SDF-4 by the Robotech Masters, They steal it to crash land it on the 9th Quadrant planet.

Why can we not see who has liked a post?
MKT replied to Chas's topic in MW Site News & Member Feedback
Ah so what we have now is the minimal feature. I don't presume to know what the mods think, but I get the feeling if this feature could be entirely removed, it would. I do think the feature is ok as it is currently. Just using likes to acknowledge someone's post without necessary cluttering up the thread. Even though it's a blind system, I think many who have their posts liked can sort of tell who it is coming from given the small community here. Far as I can tell, most have been using it appropriately. I see there's also remnants of the reputation system, which can still be seen when one clicks on someone's profile. This rep system is tied to how many likes one gets in total across posts if I'm not mistaken. But I wager most here do not care about rep & likewise the like system since we are mostly beyond caring about social media aspects than when we were say, 10-15 years ago? lol. Well to be honest, the continued abuse today is not really intrusive in general since the likes are not immediately visible to most folks. Far as I can tell, it's being used mostly for self-aggrandization purposes. But sometimes it's used to gaslight other folks, by making the offender's own opinions seem very popular to other folks who do happen to check on this kinda stuff. Or occasionally abused to annoy other people, by clicking & liking every single of someone's post, no matter if it's just some blase post, for no other reason than I think to make that someone not being able to tell apart between genuine or trolling likes given the blind system. It’s incredibly petty, but I just find it amusing. -
