HMR is alive in other franchises so still plenty of room for hope.

That’s what I cling onto after all these years. Nowadays it feels like a bit of a miracle just to see a repaint or one with a few extra parts added, but maybe one day they will do some more exciting stuff

Tomahawk hope is all that's keeping me going these days. :)

I’m still surprised they did the Monster. I guess it was all timing or something.

Excellent point! The Tomahawk seems like a much easier release in comparison.

Did someone mention Hope and Tomahawk in the HMR thread?

Especially after they also did the defender. That’s almost fifty percent of the Tomahawk

We need a Cannon Fodder VF-0A and some SV-51's.

If done well-the caveat- I'd most definitely be down for an SV-51, one of my favorite valks. I wish they'd also do a VF-14, a VF-5000, a Variable Glaug, and a VF-9 Cutlass, just to name a few.

What's been the worst Hi Metal R Macross release? Maybe the VF-2? Still impressive, that toy really needs a larger scale to pull it off properly.

The worst for me is the HMR VF-19.

Gorilla hands and being ridiculously undersized/underscaled against the HMR VF-1/VF-0/VF-2.

Plus the seemingly glued-shut leg missile bays of the VF-19P...

Even more confoundingly weird, DYRL Max 1A/1S and DYRL Kaki-1A.

Other than the stripes/arrows and Jolly Rogers colors, they're the same frickin' valkyrie as the Hikky-1A!

Bandai gotta Bandai...

For a Valkyrie toy that is riddled with Anime magic in order for it to transform, the HMR 2SS is still a must have... warts & all. B))

To see Arcadia or Bandai make a 1/60, that would be a true Holy Grail for me.

+1. Couldn't bring myself to get the kai even for just $60. :unknw:

VF-2SS at least looks great in all modes with or without the SAP, even if I wouldn’t dare play with it like I would the VF0s.

Same. I also saw that deal and didn't bite.

I don’t think it needs a bigger scale. Just a better heat shield design. Beyond that, I really like it

It looks cool, but I hate transforming that VF-2SS. My favorites are definitely the Regults, Glaug, and the MAC II.

Right! They're half-way there. Come on Bandai.

Like treatment said, it's the VF-19 Kai and VF-19P for me.

I'm ok with the HMR line being non-scale, but having the VF-19 be shorter than the VF-1 is like seeing Optimus Prime being shorter than Bumblebee in the same toyline. Their heights don't need to be exactly to scale, but they should be within the same ballpark.

And the VF-19's long arms in battroid mode really do give it gorilla proportions. I've seen them on sale on Amazon for pretty low prices, but they're still an easy pass for me.

It's getting to the point that I'm very upset of al the "fake teases" of the proposed HMR projects that never came into fruition and getting very picky just about every Bandai Macross related drops (nothing recently has grabbed my attention) . The last HMR Macross release that I picked up was the VF-0d and the non-Macross item was the Orguss.

I'm loving the Votoms line but agree we need a reason to be excited for more Macross products.

Maybe it was a mistake, according to my wallet. But I started collecting other toys from different franchises to alleviate the down time in between releases.

True! But maybe that it's not handled internally from Bandai is what sets the V.O.T.O.M.S. series apart from what's being done in-house? Maybe if they find a company or a person who is a "Fan" of the series it might get better management of the series!?

Bandai will never finish off the HMR destroids  @ValkAddict in my opinion. They’re too invested in re-reissuing the Frontier valks and the lacklustre 17 (which is a retool of the 171ex).

Who knows if Bandai will even go back to the 1/48 valks and put out the missed 1a valks that they didn’t do (including the VE-1).

When will Bandai finish the Hi-Metal destroids??? 🙄

I'm hopefull the upcoming smaller scale Wave destroid models will scale nicely with HMR... just in case the line doesn't get finished.

They’ll be a little smaller for sure, but maybe not too bad. Hopefully they do the Spartan and Monster. I still remember them teasing a 1/100 Monster many many years long in the past, even before the dark ages when Bandai teased a hmr tomahawk or even conceived a phalanx

I think they've run out of Frontier valks they're interested in reissuing - which is frustrating, because they are one release from finishing Skull Squadron.

Where's my Super RVF-25 Revival, Bandai?

Probably stuck on the same drifting barge along with every VF-31 aside from Hayate, and all of the teased VF-1s Bandai can't be arsed to produce.

The fact that we got a re-released Kairos for the 10th anniversary of Delta is frankly a miracle, and absolutely insane to consider that they re-released that mold, rather than any actual named character variant from any other series or movie.

That's just freaking depressing to consider.  Yeah, sorry to say.. Luca, Chuck, Arad, Mirage, Messer, and even Hikaru, Max and Milia, Bandai thinks you are all less viable products than a CF unit.

Most likely what I'll use the Wave 1/100 Destroids for.

That thing is on clearance everywhere and they're reissuing it? That doesn't make sense.

Yeah, kinda like they got lazy and were gonna do a variant and then just decided to put the same thing out again. And some executive is gonna judge wether they can do a new release of anything else based on the sale of an already discounted item
