dtwn Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Ooh, tempting. Just a reskin, but at least it's pretty different. Wonder if this means the Max version will be released as well. Is there any information on pricing? Did some Googling but couldn't find anything.
lechuck Posted August 7 Posted August 7 It's a Club Tamashii Memebers release, so it's probably going to be difficult and pricey to get one.
seti88 Posted August 7 Posted August 7 (edited) Last seen during the pandemic..which in macross years...not too long ago! Should be in the same bundled box configuration with valk and armor facing each other on different sides.. Edited August 7 by seti88
MikeRoz Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Bandai has several canon Macross DX product lines unfinished, and they go with this instead...

nightmareB4macross Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Cool release but, talk about being late to the game. This should have been released right after the first GBP-1J release as interest was hot for this custom scheme. Not sure I even care for this release. Oh well.

Yeah, this one definitely fits in the fan fiction area
MKT Posted August 7 Posted August 7 What I like about this variant is that it's not a straight color swap of the red bits to yellow. There's a sepia-like tint applied to all the colored bits of the armor which works quite well to my eyes. What I don't like - it's another one of those BS lottery schemes to obtain one. Not sure if I wanna pay the almost certain hiked up secondary prices for it.
Froy Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Pass. Still waiting for: VF-1A mass production M&M VF-1J, supers or stand alone Or VF-1A TV Kakizaki
grogall Posted August 7 Posted August 7 (edited) I will definitely try to get one! At least we know now the line is not dead! 🤗 Edited August 7 by grogall

grogall Posted August 7 Posted August 7 (edited) So I take it, It's the same kind of lottery that was done for the Mechanical Edition? Edited August 7 by grogall
Shawn Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Holy Nichimo/Takani packaging tribute! Awesome!! Can't wait, love that packaging (I'm the model guy at heart!)

Corrinald Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Glad to see they are actually releasing this one! Unfortunately it's going to be very difficult and expensive to get so that's a turn off.

I Didn't find it all that hard to get the last lottery VF-1S Strike Valkyrie (Mechanical Edition) after all I got 7, But it was kind of expensive 🤪
Pyroness Posted August 7 Posted August 7 (edited) Nice to see them release roy again and the armor looks cool. Getting this thing is going to be very rough. Luna Park already has it up and is asking for 59,800 yen. Overall price, even without Luna Park markups, is just not enticing enough for me. I'll be saving my money for a release that's new. Still holding out hope they release the Max and Milia VF-1J Valkyrie pair with super parts Edited August 7 by Pyroness

A couple have been sitting there for some time https://order.mandarake.co.jp/order/detailPage/item?itemCode=1306152847&ref=list&keyword=Vf 1&lang=en
Corrinald Posted August 7 Posted August 7 That's true I forgot the Mechanic Edition was a lottery item. I did later give in and get one for not too bad of a price
davidwhangchoi Posted August 7 Posted August 7 Does it come with missiles like the recent vf-1j repackage?

davidwhangchoi Posted August 7 Posted August 7 I wish there's a stand alone armor set. I have too many roys. prob will skip it.

magicsp00n Posted August 7 Posted August 7 The model box art tribute is great, but I'd have loved to have seen a tribute to the old Takatoku gift set.
Shawn Posted August 8 Posted August 8 The DX GBP was a 'loosely' based on the Takatoku GBP release=the sharp angled upper corner and the tab at bottom center. I agree they could have leaned more retro in the first DX GBP release Toynami went all in with their 1/100 retro version, so maybe Bandai saw that and did the pivot to the Nichimo box style. I'm personally very happy with their choice, I love the Nichimo kits and it really gives it a retro look in my eyes.
grogall Posted August 8 Posted August 8 I really liked the VF-1J Combo pack that Bandai did, Not everything these day has to have a retro vibe to it! And some good effort was put into the GBP package!
