I for one really hope Caliber will make a VF-1D with a properly elongated canopy. Think of all the custom schemes they could do too using real-world Tomcat schemes.

I am hoping for a VF-1D as well. It would look amazing made by Calibre Wings. These 1/72 VF-1 models are a very nice representation of the Valkyrie.

The elevator looks great too, but I don't have any room to display one.

The last update was that they were going to do super VF-1 models next but it's pending license renewal. I'm afraid a 1D with revisions to the mold is pretty unlikely.

Anyone else think the colors on this are off?  I feel the white deck is the biggest problem.....I guess it can be painted, but not into needing to customize anything I buy.....perhaps CalWings can sell an "anime" version which matches the SDFM TV colors seen during the OP without needing to specifically license it as "Robotech/Macross"...I would look forward to someone here customizing theirs to match this pic....

Cool.  Comes out cheaper than BBTS and they'll probably ship it in better condition.  I'll preorder it maybe tomorrow.

Mine came in today as well.   I'll have to wait till the kiddos are asleep before I can play.

I like it.   Comes with AA batteries for the elevator and button cell for the remote.

Need to park some KC 1/72 VF-1's to see how they look on it...can't tell from the pics but it may be too small for anything other than the CW VF-1's....

I'll check how they look with these today.  I already know the HMR VF-1 will look a little small on it but it's still all good with me.

Has Massassi designed functional in-scale repair bays too? Since seeing the Revell versions of the IMAI kits when I was a kid, I wondered what they'd be like motorized too (crawler, turntable, inspection lifts, gate doors, etc.).

Be nice if CW mass-produced those too...

There are some big shadows in that shot, hard to say what the colors are supposed to be.

jvmacross is right, Prometheus's flight deck is supposed to be dark blue.

Also, the UN Spacy kite has been claimed by Harmony Gold as a trademark. Not surprised Noel is using it anyways, he doesn't care about the law. But hey, if he keeps using it, it'll weaken HG's trademark claim 😆

Considering how small the VF-1 actually is, it makes sense for the elevator to be bigger.  The VF-0 is probably a better size standard to use, so I'd be curious how well a 1/72 Hasegawa kit would fit.

No Harmony Gold license?

It's too bad that they did not paint to match the colors of the Macross OP's elevator....

Yeah, it is a bit darker than what they did the deck in; probably a couple of sludge washes would help.

I wonder if the "001" on the box is in reference to Roy's VF-1S or if this is the first of more elevator variants...an "anime (Macross..wink, wink)" painted version would be nice...plus it would milk the mold....

Not sure if you follow the cel sales thread or just past sales in general....an actual cel from that elevator sequence from SDFM's OP sold a while back...the colors in the screen grabs are pretty spot on to the colors of the cel IIRC....Sadly I cannot find a pic of the actual cel that sold....I have several Imperial Probe Droids trying to hunt it down but so far it is proving harder to find than the Rebel's base on Hoth!

If anyone saved that image...post it up! :search:

I don't see an issue with the Grey they chose.    As this is pretty generic outside of packaging,  and could be used for pretty much any carrier based fighter for scale.    If they made this blue,  it might have turned out goofy.
