What is the "NY" you guys are referring to? Is it New York like the city? Or a online retailer or something? Attempting to learn some things.

yman1437 Posted August 22, 2019 Posted August 22, 2019 Just got a reply from ny.... Now they said they haven't even received their stocks! Yet they are selling them for 2-30000 yen more on their website!
Kuma Style Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 Now that I've got the Bandai Soul of Chogokin GX-71 Voltron and Titan Power King of Beasts next to each other, I don't frakkin' know man... I had the SOC on a really high pedestal and still do but that Titan Power aesthetic is just so damned imposing in comparison and it's not just the size difference.
sqidd Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 (edited) You're saying that the $150ish Titan Power King of Beasts is better than the Soul of Chogokin GX-71 Voltron? Damn, maybe I got the wrong one. I must admit from this pic that the Titan Power looks more svelte/streamlined/high speed low drag. How does the Titan handle compared to the COG? It's impressive if the Titan is the better toy. The price sure is right! Edited August 26, 2019 by sqidd
Mog Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 Titan Power’s can’t split into the separate lions. That’s a must-have feature for me.

kanedaestes Posted August 26, 2019 Posted August 26, 2019 Yeah as pretty as Titan is no split no desire. With that if someone is selling there’s to fund the titan I'm interested lol
derex3592 Posted August 27, 2019 Posted August 27, 2019 Don't do it. The SOC is a true collectors piece. The quality is outstanding.
Keith Posted August 27, 2019 Posted August 27, 2019 The Titan is cool, but looks a little too GaoGaiGar.

I agree with that, that's the main premise imo for Voltron , still the other looks great too but to have the option and be able to combine and have a result the way GX 71 looks is just unmatched and anime accurate of course.
JB0 Posted August 27, 2019 Posted August 27, 2019 The Titan Power one looks really nice, and is a modernized take on Lion Voltron that still actually looks like Voltron(unlike some others). But it is A Voltron, not THE Voltron. (I also find the symmetrical arms and legs a little off-putting, but not as much as I would in a design that took fewer liberties in other places. It is different enough to get away with shared lion molds.)
Stampeed Valkyrie Posted August 27, 2019 Posted August 27, 2019 Just got my GX-71 from BBTS. I just got around to opening the box, and haven't had time to fiddle with it.. much joy to be had! It will have a home between my Matchbox Voltron III and my 20th Anniversary Toynami.
mikeszekely Posted August 27, 2019 Posted August 27, 2019 I'm getting a little nervous. I haven't heard anything from my retailer since around a month ago, when I asked if they were expecting it during the time I'm out of the country. They told me then late September, but it sounds like even BBTS got theirs in.
Mechapilot77 Posted August 27, 2019 Posted August 27, 2019 The SOC version just IS Voltron. The titan power release looks "reimagined". in TF speak....classicspiece but an actionmaster. haha. If it had lion modes MAYBE i'd think about it. As is....it looks nice but i'll be happy looking at it from afar on a monitor or phoen screen.
Stampeed Valkyrie Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 The SOC Voltron is very cool.. a definate keeper. As for the definitive Voltron? I'm gonna stick with the one I grew up with, which was my Matchbox Voltron III. Yep Chunky, not posable.. but 80's awesome to this day.
Mog Posted August 30, 2019 Posted August 30, 2019 I'll concede that the old-school version has features that the SOC doesn't have (like Yellow having those guns/rockets that popped out from the sides of his head). And SOC canNOT do that "Cross and pound arms on the chest" pose that Voltron does when he first combines: BUT C'MON! SOC is just so stinkin' poseable and has so many wonderful weapons! Can definitely do the "All Lions ROAR!" pose: "I'll start by dual-wielding against the Robeast of the Week (RotW)! That will be a change-up from the norm!": "Whoa! RotW almost hit me there!" "Go spear and mouth-blade combo against RotW?" "Okay lost the spear. Maybe if I use the mouth blade and shield. . ." "Wait. Who are we kidding?! Why the HELL AM I WASTING EVERYONE'S TIME HERE?!!" Two-handed grip: Dual-wielding with Blazing Sword. . . a much better combo!
Negotiator Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 Mine is still in box. Does his waist swivel at all?
JB0 Posted August 31, 2019 Posted August 31, 2019 9 minutes ago, Negotiator said: Mine is still in box. Does his waist swivel at all? Just a smidge. His belt-buckle star gets in the way. The price we pay to be Texas-fashionable.
pengbuzz Posted September 1, 2019 Posted September 1, 2019 (edited) Recently redid the face on Voltron; it was too narrow and the eyes were too small. Edited September 1, 2019 by pengbuzz
sqidd Posted September 3, 2019 Posted September 3, 2019 I just saw this guy. Icaris V2 Dark Lion Voltron. And............it...............looks.........................awesome (to me)! They're as rare as hens teeth it seems. I found a couple for big bucks, but I'm thinking of pulling the trigger. Question is, are these good quality? Not just a pretty face? Thanks!
