MG Sandrock Custom EW is complete! This took longer than expected because I was sick for over a week during the build. I focused a ton on trying to get the cloak shells to look like cloth. Also I use gold on these kits instead of yellow like the promo pics of the old 1/100 HG EW kits. Now im moving onto GM Sniper II White Dingo.

Oh DAMN those gold accents look so tight over the purple. Amazing job

Bandai is doing MG Dom 1.5's , basically taking the Ancient Dom Kits and adding the New Joint parts from the recent P-Bandai MG Dowadge from ZZ gundam, and making it into a mainstream release. 5K yen a pop so they are pretty damn affordable, but still dissapointing outside of the new joints and hands it's the same kit

It may be disappointing to those that already have it, but it’s one of those near perfect looking kits, and then upgraded joints and a pretty cheap selling point for it’s size along with some pretty nice accessories. I could see why it seems to have sold out at a lot of places doing the preorders for them.

Yeah, I just remember the TG Flugel selling out instantly the first time on P-Bandai USA, and I said then that it would probably see a second preorder soon given the demand. I think Japan at the time successfully saturated four production waves by the time preorder demand finally died down in the domestic market?

It's still available for preorder right now. Maybe demand has died down from the initial hype. This time didn't seem to get much prior notice, either; the email newsletter caught me entirely by surprise.

It's sold out again now, I'm just not sure people were aware it was available.

I'm going to be honest, I really have never had very good technique when its come to cleaning up/cutting sprues.  I've always just had a "good enough" attitude about it.  My Mom was cool enough to get me a Special Coating Deathscythe Hell for my Birthday and it's very obvious good enough does not work here.  Anybody have any pointers on how to cut/clean these things?

Those special coating versions are a tough one especially if they aren’t undergated to begin with. I usually don’t do those kits because cleaning the nuns scratches the finish. Maybe try some of those expensive godhand nippers to trim super close to the surface

Well, with special coatings, the only things you really can do are get nice nippers (Gundam Planet or God Hand SPN-120), and then either leave it be or trim carefully with a hobby knife.

If it's a silver part, you can cover nubs with a Molotow Liquid Chrome pen (I suggest the 1mm tip), or the new Plated Silver gundam marker.

I didn't know this thread was a thing. I just had the RX-78 Unleashed commissioned. I don't have the time to build them nor the paint skills to paint them. My guy is working on a PG Perfect Strike right now for me. That one is going to be weathered and a bit battle damaged.
