Iran's tomcats are flying primarily because they have nice long runways to land on, so softer landings and takeoffs, also they are canabilzing most of them to keep just a few of them flying. Also when it comes to naval aircraft, you have two numbers to calculate service life, flight hours and trap life. Back in the late 90's, early 2000's the navy had actually upgraded its old A+B hornets with C+D level avionics and pushed them back into the fleet, pushing the C+Ds to the reserves. The A+Bs had more flight hours, but lower trap life, making them safer and more useful to the fleet. What ultimately kills most naval planes are the stresses endured during take offs and landings. Also love the quote, trying to remember what that was in reference too.

Real Macross & Robotech Helmet with DOT standard riding on the str

I just wonder what kind of lift that front visor will create, could make riding difficult. Thought it does make me reconsider riding a bike -
You don't know A-10 drivers, they'll pepper some ISIS Abrams if they get a chance, just to get the real world data for themselves. Mind you, their after action reports will indicate that they were going after softer targets, but hey that M1A1 they missed on their maverick run just got in the way. As for the A-10s getting shot at with SA-24, I can see their reaction to that. "Oh you did not just shoot that little piece of crap at me!" That or... "Bitch just scratched my paint, bitch must die!!"

Well, I just got a job offer out of state so I will be busy the next month packing and getting ready to move, so unfortunately I am out, anything coming up in the seattle area? -
Wow, I wonder how close they will stick to the original story? Definitely looks like they expanded on it.

Actually the whole thing about whether or not he is a good man all hinges on the return of Gallifrey. Think about it, would a good man bring back the timelords and risk restarting the time war, or doom his people to being eternaly trapped in a terrifying moment in time?

Mercury is a garden world???? I just get tired of all sci-fi not accounting for the fact that other planets/moons have different lengths of days/years/etc... and gravity levels. Sheol even the latest wolfenstein game had different gravity effects when the character was on the surface.
-
Gravity is gravity, unless they built grav generators into the moon or significantly increased its mass, then the surface gravity will still be 1/6 that of Earth's. In other words, the game took the lazy route and is not showing different gravities.
-
so does the moon have proper gravity in the game, or is it like that trailer where people walk normally?

Thanks Frothymug, If I had the setup for it, I would make an audiobook, but I lack the setup and the time to do that, unless people want screaming kids or car noise in the background.- 16 replies

Spiral War: On Dagger's Wings Now Available
Knight26 replied to Knight26's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
My first attempt at doing a video/youtube ad for Spiral War: On Dagger's Wings. Thoughts? Also I need to make a decision before 12-September regarding getting a table at MWCon, would any members be interested in getting a signed copy of On Dagger's Wings there?- 16 replies

I might be interested, but want to see how many folks are actually interested in buying a signed copy of my book. Spiral War: On Dagger's Wings. The interest thread I posted in the for sale section has gotten no replies at this point. I will make a decision before 12 September. -
I would test it on a small area or a discarded piece first to see how it looks, probably more of a satin finish though, given the size of the "actual" ship. Naval ships are mostly flat in color, but the water and constant repainting, cleaning can make them appear shiny.

Dare I ask if it can transform? Scratch that, don't care it is so awesome that I don't want to see it hurt. Would love to see it up close but we know what happens when people send prototypes to Shawn for MWCon, lol, jk.

Aircraft parking brakes are actuated using the rudder pedal toes, I don't think I've ever seen a e/p-brake on a console before.
