YOu said it was going to be mega sized, but man, now that I see your hand in that shot, this is going to be a HUGE beast. I LOVE IT!!!

Hence my confusion, I thought Pelia worked as a member of Guinan's race as just a one off goofball, honestly, it would have made the character better, and in my head canon Lanthanites are an offshoot of El-Aurians. But still, Holly Hunter should be playing a more serious character, maybe a burnout, but not the goofball hippie, she is, after all, not Carol Kane, who is a freaking treasure.

The Comedic Lanthenite thing is stupid. To the best of my knowledge, we have only ever seen two of the species (excluding the background refugees in Generations) before this. Guinan, who was a serious and relatively no-nonsense immortalish character who was the first to make Q think twice, and who he might have even been afraid of, and Pelia, who is a goofball. But here is the thing, Pelia is a goofball not because she is a Lanthenite, but because she is played by CAROL FREAKING KANE. She works great as a comedic character because Carol Kane is a comedian. Holly Hunter is not; she is a serious dramatic actress (for the most part), so her acting as this goofball character feels beyond forced. Given that she is a near-immortal instructor/captain, I would expect her character to be played more as a burnt-out retiree who was called back to service and who is sick of all the cadets' BS.

I think most of us would be fine with some part swapping on the VF-22 to make the legs work, unless you figure out some way to get them to collapse.
-
Looking forward to you turning your talents on the VF-22. Hoping it's better then what Bandai gave us.

Love the reworks.

Wow, probably the best cover/movie poster artist ever. He will be missed.

I have enjoyed Strange New Worlds, and really don't have an issue with Season 3, though I can see why some do. Honestly the best recent Trek series is still Lower Decks. But yes, Discovery was horrid, can't bear to watch it, and I abhor all of the ship designs from once they jump forwards in time.

So, I may have snuck a Macross-7 reference into my next book.
-
The arms and fuselage are ok, but those legs. The only explanation for that, that I can contemplate, is that it is some sort of test bed/interim design between the VF-1 and VF-4.

I see one potentially good thing about this, we'll get to see Jared Leto die. A lot. Maybe a lot a lot.

It is so wierd, not sure I would ever want it. And since it is a transformer we are garunteed a ton of underside kibble.

Just started watching this with my son and the thing that jumped out to me is that the Special Forces group are wearing the TCTF uniform from the game Oni. Or at least armor inspired by that game. Is there any crossover? The similarities in design are just too much to be a coincidence to me.

Wish it were live action, but animated will still be cool, especially in that timeframe.

I took my sons on Saturday, it was stupid fun and had me laughing more than I expected I would. I thought I would hate it, but I had fun. -
I was experimenting with a neat 3D printable device called a mantis clamp. For any model that has something hanging off the bottom and isn't completely flat it's actually pretty dang good. Here's some photos of it in use. Most of my examples were 3D printed but anything light like a model it should be fine. Even odd shapes like an X-Wing worked.

Super Macross Mecha Fun Time Discussion Thread!
Knight26 replied to Valkyrie Driver's topic in Movies and TV Series
Not so hard to believe. The VF-11 is basically the Macross equivalent of an F-16 or F-18. It's a great all-around fighter but nothing spectacular. So the YF-19 and YF-21 are developed to support and supplant it, but like the F-22 only end up getting produced in limited numbers to be used by the top pilots, instead of being the equivalent of an F-15 as intended. The VF-171 then becomes the logical follow on a decade or so later being their F-35, which makes a ton of sense when you realize that the F-35 is basically the evolution of the F-117 that can carry more armaments, have better avionics, and can defend itself. The "hero" fighters in MacF and Delta are then basically the NGAD or FA-XX equivalents. -
Yikes, that is crazy. Liver Transplant complications?
