  1. Finally had a chance to watch this. Interesting show and premise, the military hardware porn was awesome. Some crits: Why are russians flying CH-53s and US civilian Helos? Would it have been so hard to replace the CG models with those of actual russian hardware? Using the Queen Marie as a model cruise ship, sorry boys, but she is an old liner and they look nothing like that inside. The EMP should not have shut the whole ship down, but MIGHT have knocked out or played merry hell with the external electronics, tripping breakers, blowing transorbs and fuses. That MIGHT have overloaded the power system forcing a generator shut down, nothing major. Also, if that cruise ship was over the horizon from the nuke, that would have protected it from the EMP. The proximity to the nuke is what could have shut the destroyer down. Why a destroyer? If something that big was going down, why not a carrier, too much EMCon, too hard to conceal the flight ops? Filming aboard actual Arleigh Burke classes, I would have expected use on the Spruance class the navy uses as its self defense test ship up at Port Hueneme, and careful editting. The ship should try and link up with a carrier if at all possible, Unrep and transfer the lab if the ship is safe, lets face it a carrier has a nuclear reactor and the ability to purify water. Then, and I hate to say this, push the jets off the ship and start a farm in the hanger. Worst case scenario, you can ride out the infection until it kills everyone on land then inoculate the crew, go ashore and repopulate. Overall, I liked it and will continue to watch.
  2. Thanks, honestly, the more people who review and share the book, the better it will do. I would appreciate it if people who read it would cross post any reviews here. Also here is a nice little treat. The "hero" fighter/trainer of the book. First video I've shot on the new computer, yes still in autocad. I want to make some more complicated videos but am having trouble figuring out how.
  3. I'd laugh, but it is sad to see that done to a nice little F-5
  4. Predators wasn't horrible, nor was it brilliant or especially ground breaking in any way. Still, it was better than the AVP movies and actually served to expand the original story a bit. I would rate it higher than Pred-2.
  5. I may be in the minority on this one but I actually liked Pred-2 and Predators, they weren't as good as the original, and the AVP movies were an abomination on both franchises, but Pred-2 and Predators weren't horrible. I think more than anything that Pred-2 was flawed in that they tried to cram too many dropped concepts from the original into it. Also, let's face it, it would have been better is Gary Bussey's character was played by Arnold, and then he and Danny Glover team up to take down the Predator. Predators was an interesting take on the concept where the preds bring the game to them instead and I was pleasantly surprised by how bad assed Adrien Brody was in the film.
  6. Now up all major e-book retailers including iBooks.
  7. Hmm, I'll have to check it out. Now, far up the chain of command is Jayne there? ANd also, does he threaten to beat anyone with it?
  8. Now up on Barnes and Noble only waiting on ibooks now, for some reason they take the longest to list books.
  9. When I say the F-35 is one loud beast I mean it. My building at work is a good 1/2 mile from the nearest engine run up pad and the damn thing is shaking my builidng and setting off alarms while it does some kind of ground engine test. It is louder then a freaking B-1 with all four engine at afterburner.
  10. Well I'm out then. I don't play games without good single player storylines. Even as cool as Titanfall looks, I'm not going to get it if I have to go online to play it. I skipped on Star Wars: The Old Republic for the same reason.
  11. So it does have a single player storyline? If so good, I don't have time to coordinate online play with a team.
  12. Having read the book and manga I want to see this, I just haven't had the time. A buddy of mine from work loved it, just said that the very end stunk, like in the last 30 seconds.

  14. A-10s never get enough love in movies, neither do they get much love from the Air Force, so that is probably why. But let's face it, the A-10 is probably the only platform that could have done some serious damage to the Kaiju. There isn't much on this earth can stop a 30mm DU round. Even with all the electronics getting fried by the Kaiju, a Hog could have still come in and done some serious harm to those beasts.
  15. I think I still have the old Code One magazine that most of those images came from.
  16. Very cool, but transformation will be a pain, maybe just giver her a gerwalk only transformation.
  17. Root cause is looking to be the new, advanced APU. I guess there are some bugs to work out in it.
  18. Well, the story, visuals and gameplay look good. If it comes out for PC I might give it a whirl. Though, Mercury became a garden world, seriously, do these people not study science at all?
  19. Stranger was not one of my favorite RAH books and was written at the start of the whole free love craze which made it very popular in the 60s. The extended edition, puplished after he died, delves into some seriously interesting metaphysics which played into some of his later works. It is a good book, but not light reading by any stretch. SST is one of my favorites of his though, read it. It is worlds better than the crappy movie. THough the CGI animated SST movie is not bad, and can almost be considered a sequel to the book, if it didn't have so many things from the movie thrown in.
  20. I loved Monsters, total sleeper, and underrated, but a great movie that really does get to you on a lot of levels. I hope that the sequel does it justice. It looks like they are taking a more action oriented turn this time, almost like how Aliens did after Alien, just a heck of a lot grittier.. What is that crappy as "song" in the trailer? As for Skyline, that was a demo reel gone wrong and is better left buried somewhere never to be seen or heard of again.
  21. I've read most of RAH's catalog, Sixth Column was a little wierd to read at the time as I was dating a half japanese girl.
