  1. The as of yet untitled Episode 8 is written and directed by Rian Johnson, and slated for release December 15, 2017. DAYS UNTIL STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII Lots of news on the next film in the new trilogy: The release date has been pushed back from May 2017 to December 2017. $$$$ Rian Johnson is revising his script, in what is said to be a move to reduce the role of further new characters and focus more on the trio introduced in TFA. Principle photography was set to begin in the next few weeks (end of January 2016), but has been delayed until February 2016 because of the script revision. Some filming with Hamill and Ridley was done on Skellig Michael island in fall 2015. Word is they will not be returning to the island due to the difficulty in shooting there, and they will pick up shots elsewhere and on a soundstage for further scenes on the island. Whatever they needed for physical continuity was gotten this past fall.
  2. War for the Planet of the Apes is the third film in the current Planet of the Apes film series, following the critically acclaimed 2014 film Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Let Me In) returns to the director's chair on this project; he will also co-write the screenplay with Matt Bomback (Live Free or Die Hard, The Wolverine). Since it's the continuing saga of Caesar and his tribe, there's no doubt that Andy Serkis (Klaue in Avengers: Age of Ultron, Captain Haddock in The Adventures of Tintin) will reprise his motion capture performance. The film is scheduled to premiere on July 14, 2017. Exclusive: New Planet of the Apes Movie Title Revealed
  3. Did a search and found no thread for this film yet. After Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which was imo a great take on the franchise the sequel is shaping up to be one awesome looking film.
  4. One of Europe's most beloved comic books gets the big-budget Hollywood treatment. The Adventures of Tintin stars Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot, Griffin in Jumper) as Tintin, Andy Serkis (King Kong, Gollum in The Lord of the Rings) as Captain Haddock, Simon Pegg (Shaun of the Dead, Nicholas in Hot Fuzz) and Nick Frost (Ed in Shaun of the Dead, Danny in Hot Fuzz) as Thompson & Thompson, Daniel Craig (the current James Bond 007) as Red Rackham, and Toby Jones (Arnim Zola in Captain America: The First Avenger) as Aristides Silk. Normally, one would think this movie will flop in the U.S., as practically nobody in America reads Tintin, but it is produced by Peter Jackson (with Weta Digital doing the special effects, of course) and directed by Steven Spielberg - which theoretically guarantees a box-office hit stateside. The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn premieres on October 26 in the UK and December 23 in the U.S. Official Site
