Not sure....part of the copyrights show "84"....so DYRL merch, along with SDFM merch, cannot be released without a HG license outside of Japan due to the recent "deal" between HG and BW involving the Macross franchise.... Thankfully both PS4 and Switch are not region locked, so Japanese physical should work fine. Back in the day that would have been a barrier, like with the PS2 Macross game. There are some PS4 games that will not run on a PS5. Like I said earlier, it seems odd that they are aiming for a PS4/Switch release instead of a PS5/PS4/Switch release. This game reminds me very much of an old PS1 game called Philosoma, especially how it changes its views as a shooter. I had a chance to get hands on for about 15 min or so for the Demo. Only 1 pilot playable, it looked nice, but I was not overly impressed, I'll hold my judgement until it gets an official release. I snapped a pic at the con, not me playing.
