Took the wife. She liked it. I did too. Maybe a bit long, but it was fun. Better than I expected in parts, just as cheesy as I feared ok a few other parts.

Hey we have the "Like" buttons back, thanks you mods. I was missing that.

Nice teaser, really. Hopefully she learns to use her water bending powers like Aang did. I still wish it was somehow teased that she has a descendent far off in the future that attends Xavier's School for the Gifted.

What Current Anime Are You Watching Version v4.0
Mazinger replied to wolfx's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
I started watching the modern (2012 and onwards) JoJo's Bizarre Adventure series which I think follows the manga from its beginning in order. I gotta say, pretty good. I love all the 70's/80's pop music references. I had watched an OVA of the 90's era JoJo a while back and it left a lot un-answered questions since essentially you are just dropping in to the third volume of the story. Once I reach that era in the modern rendition, which I think is Stardust Crusaders, I'll have go on and learn the Capcom JoJo fighter that went with it. -
Don't you know? That's the Sh'iar empire he's helping. Lilandra is getting a break down of Earth's defense against the Phoenix force.

Really wish this got ported to the PS4 as I don't own a PS3 and can't imaging buying one now, with the PS5 getting closer to arriving.

New Macross TV Series in 20xx (sometime this decade)
Mazinger replied to Tochiro's topic in Movies and TV Series
That would be awesome, honestly. I wouldn't mind the wait if that were the case. -
Off-topic: The whole topic of why hero mechs and characters constantly get produced versus enemy mechs in Japan is interesting. I know that it's due to sales, but otherwise I'm at a loss. In the west, one's collection feels incomplete without someone to pew-pew against. I can't imagine only ever having had a He-Man but not a Skeletor figure, a GIJoe but not Cobra figure, or an Optimus Prime without a Megatron. Seems like with HM-R's Glaug and Regault's Bandai is recognizing this "need", but I'm still flumuxed as to why it's taking this long to get more enemy mechs. < / rant >

The Gatchaman toy I’ve waited my whole life for?
Mazinger replied to Slave IV's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Interesting, but as I never saw the later Gatchaman seasons, I would have preferred the season 1 Phoenix.- 79 replies

"Siskel and Ebert"... wow, back when 1999 was some incredibly far off day in the future. Miss those guys.

The computer and electronics super geek thread
Mazinger replied to azrael's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Stumbled upon this video of a young man cleaning a newer Nvidia chip and fixing a video card by replacing memory chips. First off, I had no idea people actually repaired electronics on this level. He obviously has skills and the time necessary - 3 hours to arrange the little soldering balls! I find the whole video mesmerizing: -
^ this is what I was referring to. My matchbox scouts are really just smaller molds of the same trooper carapice without the attatchment slots for the shooters. True, they are not anime accurate.

Huh, removing the blasters would get this Gurab really close to an Eager.

Before I saw the actual video preview, I thought Doomcock was a funny reference to Commander Saru!

Their Southern Cross Jean figure doesn't look half bad and the price point seems decent. I wish them success. Hopefully their Zentran figs will scale well with the HM-R line.

Question, was there every an Arai or Aoshima model kit of the Tread? I'm aware of the Newtype armo+tread kit, but haven't seen an Tread that could mate with either the currently available 1/72 or 1/48 Aoshima kits.

The fighter mode on those things isn’t horrible. I have one that’s falling apart. Been thinking about glueing it in place as a fighter.

Watched this. Thought it was pretty good. Wish it had more Cybertron of course.
