  1. What I find really interesting is this, from the wiki on it: "The Classic uses the free and open source emulator called PCSX using the ReARMed branch to play its games." That seems, uh, bold to me, in that they are basically taking some open source project off-the-shelf and repackaging to sell in a fancy plastic shell. I wonder how many others have done that. There's plenty of emulation going on left and right in for sale devices or networks such as Nintendo's, but I've never heard of someone straight up selling one since it's basically free advertising for that software. That being said, when there's a good port, such as the Street Fighter 30th anniversary collection, I don't mind paying up even though I've run emulators since 1998 on just about anything that could run them, because hey, I need my classic arcade games.
  2. Those are some very floaty fight scenes. Almost Matrix Revolutions level of anti-gravity there. At least Christopher Waltz looks ok in the role.
  3. I haven’t done this particular repair but have worked with old toys and epoxy. I think it depends on the area the needs to be bonded and the surface the you can add the glue to. When that ratio is to large, the bond won’t last if the piece is subjected to repeated force. I’ve seen some people reinforce breaks and weak areas with small peices of plastic that can then glued onto the broken area. If there’s space for it, that’s probably a good way to go. Lately I’ve found that Apoxee clay seems to last a bit better that epoxy clay, but that isn’t a trivial application either, it’s meant more for sculpting. This is along the lines of the above “apply a splint” technique, just without the actual splint.

    Hi-Metal R

Not sure if this has been discussed before, but has there been any leaks from Bandai regarding any possible HMR releases for a YF-21/Sturmvogel or VF-17/171’s?
  5. The art style started a fire of controversy that snowballed with other issues such as the characters that Disney/Marvel wouldn't allow. The visuals definitely turned off fans of Capcom fighters, example: Chun at launch time. Whoa, was that a shock to the system! On the left is Chun in Marvel Vs Capcom 3, the older PS2 era title, on the right, MvC:Infinite after a much needed face fix, but with very unflattering body proportions. The Capcom characters all look as if they got 1/10th of the development time from artists, while the Marvel characters all look pretty good. The lack of mainstays like Wolverine, Dr. Doom, Dark Phoenix and other Marvel characters did hurt, I won't deny that. As did the switch from teams of 3 characters to teams of 2 characters. I personally can only really handle a team of 2 so far, so I kind of welcomed that. This is my goto fighter to play with my nephew. The gameplay mechanics, themselves, have garnered praise. Even, dare I say, more than DragonBall FighterZ. But DBFz looks 1000x's better than MvC:I. It is fun, so if you want a team-based fighter for your PS4, by all means pick it up. If by some miracle Disney/Marvel/Fox would now allow a patch to add the X-Men, Doom, etc back in and Capcom updated the visuals one last bit, I think the game would experience a rebirth of sorts.
  6. Kinda funny as I watched Wasp and Ant-Man with the missus last night just prior to watching the Endgame trailer. It's a bit of a spoiler, as is this vid, but I'm not surprised, I mean, this is Marvel Comics, where death / rebirth are just a retcon away.
  7. That wall jutting up in between the northern lands and the south is very interesting. I wonder if it's a hint of unexpected plot point to come. It doesn't appear to be THE wall in the north, least not to me.
  8. @Brofessor I haven't read through your analysis yet, so I'll be upfront about that. I'm relatively new around here, having become an active poster only 5 years or so ago, but I agree with Tekering's and Seto's sentiments, which I upvoted. I don't mind a discussion about RT, it is how most of us in our greying generation came to know these works initially. But I think it would be disingenuous to assume that what came across as RT is what the creators intended. At best RT, could be analyzed for the intent, mindset, and motivation of the individuals that decided to take it's three disparate components, re-write and dub them to produce it. As you are clearly someone that is invested in those stories I highly recommend searching out the original Japanese versions and then going through the exercise of comparing and contrasting various topics such as how gender and race relations we portrayed in Japan versus how they were filtered and remolded for the US. I know I find the differences fascinating.
  9. I heard Osiris has a soft spot for Yamcadia V2's. Might be a good idea to take him one.
  10. Actually, I’m also surprised that they didn’t try to use Rosa Salasarz’s face. The young woman is pretty and bares more than a little resemblance to Gun’m: https://goo.gl/images/V7mUAu And
  11. What perplexes the large eyes being kept in the movie is that at least half of the comments after the first trailer hit were negative about the design. Enough time has passed that they could have shrunk them and re-rendered the frames by now.
  12. @RavenHawk You, sir, get my up vote for remembering Bubblegum Crisis, though I'd expect nothing less based on your obsession with transforming bikes.
  13. I know I'm very disappointed with the plastics used in KO LEGO bionicle coming out of China. It snaps on use so I'd be weary of dropping more than say $100 with shipping included on one of these. Time will tell...
  14. Now imagine a Legioss with a gimmick to pull a Mospeada out of at that scale! Really, molding quirks aside, this is impressive. Not something I'd be capable of doing justice with paint, so I eagerly await all the progress pics you valiant souls post for it.
  15. I wonder if this is part of a plot to: 1) get a new generation into the original series and 2) get viewers to disassociate the original actors from those roles in preparation for different actors to take them up.
  16. Wow, Prime finally looks like Prime. I hope this movie actually has a decent story as all the visuals so far are pretty darn good.
  17. Show.z is a storefront on AliExpress, but you probably already know that. Since there no other branding are we to assume that they, themselves are going to produce it? That would be interesting since they are mostly know for selling higher end knock offs like Valkyrie Factory’s VF-1.
  18. I certainly had this impression and I had plenty of both growing up. The larger delux gobots were interesting, but the extent of transformation on the smaller one was always so simple, just flip legs out and twist the arms down. The cartoon was also nowhere near as interesting to me. It sort of felt like it was transformers made for younger children. The Netflix “Toys that made us” episode on transformers does an interesting dive into this subject.
  19. I had always thought that the honors started out as organic beings who gradually replaced parts of their bodies until they were all robot. Then again I didn’t place that close attention.
  20. I picked up the comics within the first year of its run, back when the idea of zombies as the next big horror wave seemed ridiculous. It was all vampires vs werewolves then. I stopped reading the comics after show got to Alexandria because of how much the show had begun to differ. I still watch it because let’s face it, I have loved zombies since I first watched the original Romero movies. I’ve heard about the events being depicts in the series now, but don’t know what’s gonna happen next. I think the series is about as good as it’s been in a while and for me that’s good enough. By contrast I still won’t watch Fear the Walkig Dead after a good first season to horrible second season.
  21. Having read about the less positive takes of Crimes relative to the first Beasts, I was actually relieved by this one. It is complex, but I found its twists rewarding and I liked it almost as much as I liked the first Beasts. I’m actually one of those people that didn’t think the last HP movies or books were the greatest in the series. And I actually think some of the story telling issues I had with Deathly Hallows are avoided by these movies and the first. I never really bought into some of the plot convolutions of the originals and I think JK might have worked out a better overall plot with these, so I look forward to the next. Now regarding Depp, I’m actually breathing a sigh of relief. I was prepared to hate him had he over acted as has been typical of his recent schtick, but I think he actually played the character about as well as Depp could. I think it would have been easy for the script and Depp to have been more heavy handed given Grindelwald’s arguments to Mages on why they should follow him as a reflection of our times, but that turned out to be more subdued. There was less preaching than I expected and more showing, so bullet dodged there I think.
