  1. Congrats on your World Cup victory! Who'd you play for? ...j/k
  2. @antibiotictab Was the Minmei from Plamax as well?
  3. I had a hard time getting though lots of parts of these King books so I was doubtful at first when I heard this project was actually moving forward. This looks interesting. I like McConaughey as the man in black. Kinda wish Idriss was using his natural English accent though.
  4. Honestly that's the best possible use of a phalanx in the Delta era that I can think of. Nice EVA colors.
  5. Very nice!!! What an elegant way to shoot this. Awesome!
  6. I'm newer around these parts and can sympathize with the disappointment in having something so expensive and dear break. I also somewhat of a cheapskate. I gave myself a rule that I would not spend over a certain dollar amount for any toy. I've failed to comply only twice - in both cases I jumped at previously owned holy grail items - interestingly enough not Macross (Orguss, Mospeada). Much of my collection is also second hand. Some of the items have problems, but I'm OK with that. My has prevented me from going after the Delta DX items, but didn't prevent from getting some of the 1/72 bandai models. Setting limits helps.
  7. Interesting, they have a bunch of shows I actually like. Still pissed Fox killed of both Terminator Chronicles and Almost Human.
  8. CaptRico Ah yes, I referenced it often when I was coming up with my own Spartas. Nice one.
  9. Interesting, since every newly published SW thing going forward is canon, I find this very interesting. A new Timothy Zahn written Thrawn book coming out: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_Thrawn "Zahn noted that the novel would cover several years between Thrawn's "first encounter" with the Empire and the events of the third season of Star Wars Rebels" Brings hope that as time passes the Thrawn trilogy might actually get realized in films. We already have a new Han Solo cast, now just need younger versions of the original's cast. Would also be cool if they somehow included references to Thrawn in the upcoming Skywalker legacy movies.
  10. I have some eBay searches for the Halo Covenant tanks sets since they have a lot of purple in just the right hue for my Inbits. I think a couple of people have tried to sell Mega Bock on Bricklink, but for some slightly technical/legalistic reason, those were shut down.
  11. Jeez, that is ugly. The more I work on various MOCs, the more I find myself thinking about what an "advanced" LEGO type building system would look like, were there might be less and smaller studs in general, while allowing for any and all angles. Then you could have any variety of greebles that could be layered on top of the basic polygons. Sort of the inverse of what the system is now, instead of studs on top, plates would have holes, maybe axle shaped, spaced out, and axles protruding from the bottom to plug into the lower layers. What's killing me now more than anything else is the lack of all the pieces I want in all the colors I want, though.
  12. Well I ended creating a new LEGO ideas account. Voted for Voltron and a few others. I'm actually a member of the LA LEGO user's group and saw a fully transforming Voltron one of the members built. AFAIK, he is not the person behind the ideas submission. Seeing that built I'm now on a mission to build all the things I really liked or wanted as a kid, hence my recent Mospeada stuff. @Chronocidal wow! That's a big MOC. I notice that you are not using any of the curved slopes or wedges. Is your design goal for it to be visibly LEGO - i.e. no curvy parts?
  13. That's a lot of chrome! Wasn't aware some of them bricks came in chrome. Very pretty. I need to get my legoideas account sorted out. Signed up with one email address, that strangely got locked out back when it was cuusoo, and now can't log in to update the account details, else I would have voted for the Voltron already.
  14. Interesting that the characters I'm most interested in seeing now don't include Batz or Supes. 'The Aquaman' looks fun. Almost seems like WW is tying it all together, which given how MvS turned out, doesn't seem like a bad choice.
  15. I have to watch RO again. I did Chopper and the Ghost references the first time I saw them, but didn't hear the General Syndulla call. I'm one of those people that wanted the mean-ish General dude in the RO briefings to turn out to be the current Fulcrum. If you look at pictures of the voice cast, Kanan and Ezra's voice actors (Freddie Prinze Jr. and Taylor Gray) actually look like their animated counter parts. They could easily spend some time on screen.
  16. Such good story telling in this show. I still don't have much patience for the Clone Wars depiction of Anakin and Obi-Wan, though I have warmed to the rest. But Rebels is another thing all together. At first I cringed when Maul returned, but it was been awesome to see how we has integrated into show and how it has given his character the dignity the prequels never did. I know it's unlikely, but I do wish Rebels would get a live action outing, or at least the appearance of a few of the principals in the upcoming SW offshoot movies.
  17. Nice. Hope to do that myself if/when an HMR version comes out.
  18. ^ ! Well there is a precedent for collecting even ugly KO's, just ask Rick Springfield, but not about Jessie's Girl: http://www.rollingstone.com/movies/videos/see-rick-springfields-massive-star-wars-toy-collection-20151207 Them Turkish Starswar figs aren't getting any cheaper: http://io9.gizmodo.com/5896309/turkish-star-wars-action-figures-are-gloriously-awful
  19. Hmm, well you do have a few other options as well: Big https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=43121#T=S&C=4&O={"color":4} Medium https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=41531pb007R#T=C&C=4 Smaller, but longer https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=30360#T=S&C=4&O={"color":4} But I do think the smaller of the 2 options you are considering there is the better looking one. I would also consider using the dome you have on the larger booster on the smaller version, that or a white cone.
  20. The Arcadia tweet really seems like another example of the Streisand effect to me. Making the mistake to denounce something relatively unknown and in the end drawing more attention to it. I, for example, had never heard of the LEGO clones coming out of China The Lego Group filed a suit to stop one of them. These weren't really an issue till they opened a factory in a China, then all of a sudden you could get discontinued Ultimate Collectors Edition sets which can go for almost a thousand MISB on eBay, for about a hundred. There are some quality differences with the LEGO knock offs. The studs don't say LEGO. Some pieces are weaker, cheaper. Some cloners are almost 98% of the quality though, which indicates to me that they got ahold of discarded original molds. That's my hypothesis.
  21. If it's the 1x2 thin technic piece that the pneumatic T's are plugged into then it's this piece, through the axle holes: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=41677#T=C Else where the the T's are slotted into 1x1 modified bricks with holes on all sides.
  22. Hmm, interesting that those results didn't turn up on the Taobao English. The sheer variety of goods is interesting in that I wouldn't expect anyone would create KO's of such a variety of items. I also see a listing for what looks like the new ride armors announced at Wonderfest. Really wish I could read Mandarin. Actually, even that is an assumption. Could be Cantonese AFAIK.
