  1. Past hour
  2. If there's one thing I've learned from the multi-year (~ 4 yrs ) delay on the Dana figure is to never preorder anything directly from them. It is best to go through a e-tailer like BBTS so you can just forget about it until/if the item is released and be charged then, instead of having your money tied up "forever".
  3. Dinheiro...
  4. Today
  5. Appreciate the memories, this helps! You'd think so, but unfortunately, no info on the sleeve or in the film itself anywhere. They just slapped the year 1984 on it. Likely the result of these smaller video distributors just getting their hands on anything they could at the time and pumping tapes as fast as possible before the company went bankrupt (which they did in droves in the 80's and 90's).
  6. and the 1/12 Flash Clapper STL file HR-32 Flash Clapper Light Hovercycle 1/12 Scale (Dana Sterling hoverbike) 🎬 ・3D print design to download・Cults (cults3d.com) Let me know if it fits in with the 1/12 figures.
  7. C'mon, we all dressed up at one time or another...
  8. I bought mine in the early 90’s at Suncoast back when those were in every mall. They did a special order for it. That was kinda their thing. It probably says on the back of the sleeve. I think it was before 95. I know most of the video places had Clash of the Bionoids and it was a somewhat edited version. Oddly the DYRL version had the same dubious dub. I just remember that the people at Suncoast had to catalog things in a big book and write everything on paper because it was pre computer catalogs. It was also back when laserdiscs were on the shelf and before dvd. It was also a little before the internet was a thing. I had heard about it from a friend that there was a rumored vhs copy that was a bit longer and had scenes the likes of which were only legend. I knew the archivists in the dark ironically named Cave called Suncoast might be able to procure the item I sought. It took three months before a hero clad in brown had delivered it to the dark archives. I then had to convince a friend to take me to retrieve that legendary treasure since I did not have a ride. Seriously, every Suncoast store I had ever been in was dark and had dark paint, they probably got turned into Hot Topic stores when they went under. And the clerks all were extreme movie snobs, but always knew the best versions of the movie you were looking for.
  9. I hope the Max / Kakizaki VF-1A fighter still arrives in June. I’d like to pick it up while I’m visiting Japan.
  10. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Maybe the usual reason; they ran out of any frakkin’ ideas?
  11. I think the larger ones do come out better, but I think the X-Wing is an oddball bad egg due to being so early in the product line, before the knew what they were really doing. Like.. it's really difficult for me to even comprehend exactly how they messed it up the way they did? It's like whoever was responsible for the CAD model didn't know anything about CAD, didn't know anything about perspective, or both. For some unfathomable reason, the panel lines on the X-Wing got projected like a badly-wrapped game texture, and came out distorted like some kind of funhouse mirror version. It's really wild. Also, for the record, I want to find whoever is responsible for the stupid "top engines are longer" gaffe that has persisted in toy X-Wings for so many decades, and pelt them with J-79 nozzles. You took a feature of one engine from one filming model, and decided "This is just how all the bottom engines are." It's ugly, and it unbalances the ships in one really irritating way, since it's VERY obvious from this photo that X-Wings should be able to stand on their engines. I will readily admit though, I'm probably as picky about X-Wings as David Hingten is about Tomcats. I grew up researching and trying to correct all of the molding issues on all of the models since I got my first MPC kit in roughly 1990, and it bugs me to no end how many ways people find to mess it up. Anyhow.. on a lighter note, speaking of David, yes, they did get the B-Wing markings correct, at least as compared with the Bandai model instructions. Whether the Bandai ones are 100% accurate I'm not sure, since my reference photos are of the model without the circle markings. Overall proportions look good, a huge upgrade from the old Action Fleet version. Cockpit still slightly oversized, but much better by comparison, and I like that they molded the whole upper half of cockpit as the hatch, instead of just the window, since it kept the right shape. Also like that the wings actually have a solid spring-tabbed ratchet to keep them in place, they're nice and solid in the open and closed positions. Just as a reminder.. yeah, much better.
  12. I saw this in a thumbnail advert this morning and thought it was a new take on Shockwave. Turns out it's a Bandai Spirits kit called GIG R01Provedel Type-Rex 01. Wouldn't take much customizing to make him more Shockwave-y though.
  13. Thank goodness for editing. Keeping the chestburster scene short is better without overdoing the shock value which can detract from the quality of the film imho.
  14. I stand corrected. I forgot that the Fighter kit was also originally scheduled to release next month. We've seen the Battroid kit delayed enough times that I just assumed it was for that one. Good catch. Will it be delayed again? I hope not. I discovered a while back that when you switch the language from Japanese to English on their site, it's not necessarily doing the machine translation you think it is. For at least the sections related to news and shipping updates, there seem to be separate Japanese and English versions of the text, with the Japanese version being more complete (probably because it was written first). I just focus on the Japanese version and let my browser auto-translate the pages.
  15. some things will never change....
  16. pff.... not to the police cruiser, straight into the station man
  17. I want to see gerwalk mode before I'm convinced! 🤪
  18. Even the gore of the chestburster scene was considerably reduced after early test screenings; the assembly cut was much bloodier. Watch it, if you dare! 😅
  19. Hi there. I barley post here, but don't worry it's not you, it's me. For reasons, I was looking into the history of the Clash of the Bionoids release (believe it or not, there there's some weird, wild stuff with it), and one thing I can find almost NO info on is the later uncut release. It's this one right here: I actually have the video, so I know how it looks and sounds and what the credits say and all of that, I just can't figure out when it was released exactly. The tape only says copyright 1984, but obviously that's the copyright date of the film, not the tape itself. And it has to be after 1984 since the company on the box, Century Media, didn't get the movie until 1989 or 1990. The only place I can find a release date for it is on Amazon saying it was on April 17, 1995, but that info wasn't updated until 2006. Amazon reviews only go back as far at 1998 (but that might have been when they first started doing reviews). Any mentions on the old Alt.Fan.Macross posts only go back as far as 1998 as best I can tell Can anyone confirm this was released in 1995? Or was it maybe 1998? Also, can anyone remember where it was actually sold? I never saw it in any of the retail stores or rental stores I went to in the US. I heard rumors of maybe it was at Suncoast? I've checked newspaper listings, Diamond Previews back catalog, as well as Archive.org, and I can find almost nothing on it. No articles, no solicitations. Any info on its release that anyone has would be appreciated. Thanks!
  20. Always liked pop orchestras.. here's a classic: There's a live version too, although the audio isn't that great.
  21. It's a common problem with machine translation. The workaround is—in the translation site of your choice*: 1) translate individual sentences, and if that doesn't work, 2) break the sentences into sections (e.g. break at a comma [,]). It's super annoying, but that's the way it is... * DeepL is my current go-to site. However, Google Translate should be sufficient most of the time.
  22. I'm going to pass on this, as I've already got 2 VF-31J and VF-31J Super parts first issue. Already got full VF-31 Delta Sqaudron DX TV toys. I just wish Bandai would release VF-31AX Arad and VF-31AX Chuck DX toys from Zettai Live.
