If you got it shipped from ShowZ on May 14th, then wouldn't it be the revised "Macross-free" version that is even closer to the G1 markings? -

Finally! I have been wanting this big boy for a while now and it showed up today from PBandai. Got a couple kits I need to deal with before this but very excited to rip into it. Also seeing it’s Bandai means it will probably require so much less than all the old kits I have been working on. It will build itself lol

This sounds like good idea for a new Macross series based on the early days of OTEC after the ASS-1 crash....a prequel to Macross Zero....it kind of reminds me of what they did within the pages of the old Macross Hobby Handbook.... ...and updated version of this book would be awesome....

Nice find. I'm missing a few of those, and don't expect to find them all in my lifetime, but that's OK. I'm glad you were at least able to pick these up.

UPDATE: Space shuttle model has failed. While doing some of the remaining details on it (finishing dull-cote, balcony window), I lost control of it and it fell... Two stories. Not fun picking up a bazillion pieces from the pavement. 😠 In any event, I am no longer doing any "thrift store rescues"; this one didn't just shatter the model, but my heart as well. (and no; under the circumstances, I will not be doing a "crash diorama". Not only are the pieces too small [more like shards], but Challenger and Columbia were two events that broke my heart.) Some days, I tell you.... PROJECT: DESTROYED.

... that one took me a second. Nicely done.👍 It definitely could've been worse. He could've been Val Kyrie or some such. I'm definitely curious to get into the part after that, since most of that section introducing Tom Kato is about his US Navy and later UN Forces service, but he mentions a testing accident that occurred during his brief stint working as an engine tester for OTEC where a 150m area of London was apparently compressed into a singularity. -

Were these strips even shown in the animation? I was always under the impression that they were added by Hasegawa (under Kawamori's supervision of course). IMO the VF-11 looks better without them (and the warts), so I sanded them off.

Would a set of old Yamato stickers work? I think they included the necessary markings, but I don't know if they were white-backed stickers. You might try the sale/trade section though, lots of people here bought the first version, and you might find some who wanted the version without markings.

Disappointed 2nd run FUGU Jetfire had the Macross icons removed, and no heat shield. 80% ofthe reason i bought it was because it was going on the Macross shelf. All the stickers would need to be in white, so i can't make them. If anyone wants to swap with a Macross version.....
