  2. If you are interested, here is how I went about weathering my Blackbird. I have the old 48th scale Testors/Italeri Blackbird model in my closet, but if I was to build it, I'd have no place to put it.

  4. I was wondering how the legs of the inner bot were going to line up with the armor, but it appears that the inner bot's knees will bend forward in line with the armor's hips. I'm curious what sort of attachment points they're using to keep the inner legs in place. I'm thinking they either limited the thigh movement to what we're seeing here to allow the inner bot's lower legs to remain somewhat in parallel with the armor's thighs or those thighs can continue moving forward leaving the inner bot's legs just kinda dangling behind them having reached their limits. Regardless, this is a challenging bot to approach with the ML methodology, and I give Takara mad props for accomplishing what we're seeing in the pics. If I was buying this, the armor's knee joints, pins connecting two relatively thin panels, would give me a bit of concern over long term durability given the top-heavy nature of the figure. However, again, I have to tip my hat to Takara for imbuing this with the level of articulation they've achieved here and yet keeping both bot and alt modes looking virtually identical to the OG toy. It's an impressive bit of problem solving and the execution is quite well-done. I'm assuming the buggy dude came with the OG Diaclone toy, as I'm not familiar with its coming with OG UM. I didn't see it 'til you said it! 🤣 Honestly, not one of the better bits of box art.
  5. It's really growing on me. Should be a fun little toy.

  7. May'n just informed that she have just completed a photo shoot for a memorial book for the Macross F concert!

  9. Thanks so much! I should have it all done over the weekend. Not too shabby. 👍 Cool idea with the track spikes! Yeah…letterpress as a commercial print process as well as the people who run them is rather rare. I have been doing it for probably 20 years now and love it. It was a fun hobby “had a smaller platen press in my garage” that turned into a career printing on larger Heidelberg windmills. It doesn’t pay that well but I choose a modest life for the freedom and creativity it brings to me. I am so grateful.
  10. I see a serious lack of security on the island. Considering Prodigy is one of the 5. They should have a serious military program. This would obviously involve several very specialized platoons (or thereabouts) on the island itself as well as defensive installations . And , along those lines, i would've thought that security would have been amped up with the addition of Weyland -Yutani's exotic and very dangerous pets now in Prodigy's possession. A contentious issue, obviously. Are they really just telling us that this kid doesn't have a security commander , and is so arrogant he thinks no additional measures need to be taken.
  11. @Papa Rat That VE-1 is looking GREAT! Nice weathering! Great print work and designs too! I guess you're one of the few who still touches typesets? @505thAirborne Those helmets look VERY realistic and authentic (I can say that from experience😁). I had to do a replica of an old WWII M-3 aircraft flak helmet for a display one time. It's harder than people think! @Cheese3 No one will accuse you of not using your own original paint schemes - that's for sure! Cool designs and collection too! @LocusPocus Wow! There are A LOT of bias lines on that print. But like you said, good learning experience! Those joints you're installing will make it much better. @derex3592 You are going to have quite the 1/72nd Air Force! The paint is looking clean too. @nightmareB4macross Yeah, yours is MUCH better 😁 I'm predicting people are going to run out to their Dick's Sporting Goods, or local equivelent, this weekend and buy track shoe spikes. These were about $12.00 USD for 14 vs the same cost for just a couple from an aftermarket company. They are SHARP and DURABLE vs the aluminum ones that are aftermarket extras. You can use a 12-24 tap to make threads for them, or just use super glue! I saw these while my wife was looking for shoes. God gave me a great idea after seeing these😉 Oh, and this was supposed to be a simple 1/100 Z'Gok build to work on while sitting with my wife watching TV. I just couldn't get over that '70's look and thought it needed more "Machismo". I'll post more as I complete it. Thanks for checking in! - MT
  12. A quick comparison of all the ill shaped backpacks and their off positions. From a manufacturer’s standpoint their offerings make production easier, but a little more effort could have made the backpack a bit more condensed and folded in the proper GERWALK position. Just my two cents.
  13. He needs a whole cask!
  14. Simply fantabulous!!! I do so enjoy seeing people bring out the best in my kits.
  15. You're not wrong about the gaudy canards, but I was still going for something like a racer scheme, so some bling made sense. For an actual military livery, I'm 100% with you that everything should get toned down considerably. I like your ideas, and agree that a sharper rake to the gills would be more effective. Wrapping them over the chest plate makes me think about maybe even something like a tiger stripe pattern. Something to try when I get some time. Have you seen the 31 Master File? Some of the squad markings they show there sound a bit like what you're talking about with the sword on the back. The one at the bottom right (below) kinda fits that concept. The sea camo one bottom left also gives a nice flow to the shape. I think your suggestions are good and will play with a few things when I get back in front of a computer. I like playing with the flashy race schemes, but maybe I'll try making it look like an actual fighter with the next go. 😁
  16. Yesterday
  17. Yeah; he has that look of "I need a drink"...
  18. I agree about Pike's hair; it was better in Discovery. As for MASH; I highly recommend the show. Really good episodes, and some not so great ones as well, but overall a classic!
  19. Looks like Hitman, with some generic third person shooting gallery cover-based gameplay, and been-there-done-that Sniper Elite style parkour-lite? It's just kind of a generic mish-mash of various third person action games, not what I expected.
  20. Graphics looks good, but stealth mechanics....🤦‍♂️
  21. I would love gerwalk yf-19 &21. For sure. we definitely got the VT-1 in gerwalk mode in DYRL. So it would have been a nice package option.
  22. @Return To Kit Form Absolutely phenomenal work!!! The painting and the layers of weathering are just astonishing! Outstanding presentation! Love it!
  23. Yes @tekeringmy Ger was roughly 30 clams and it shows. Very brittle PLA I think and odd to work with. That being said, I got it to cut apart and learn some articulation skills (and rid it of the gimme- a-hug pose it came with). The hasegawa one will likely arrive before I can button this guy up! Like the mospeada kitbashes, it will most likely be relegated to WIP skill builders of which are invaluable to me 🤗
  24. Looks playable and sturdy. If priced well, this could be a must have for me. If we are getting new anime, I’m all for that as well! Twich
  25. I have never seen any of these shows. Episode 8 was another stellar example of a horrible story. I am so tired of Pike's hair. Again I like the Kirk side story far more than Pike's. I am starting to think i just has Pike.
  26. Summer Pockets episode 22 was so sad. I was bawling the entire time.
