Wait, studio TRIGGER????

🤩

Yeah at the end of the show it turns out that Night City is actually inside a virtual world and the protagonists have to fight and destroy god (i.e. the creator of the world) with a giant robot.

Anyone else catch the chick with the third boob at 0:03?

Anyway, this looks cool. Nice to see a monofilament whip in action. Also the shotgun at 0:29 reminds me of the Entertech Saturator I had as a kid.

I think the trailer looks cool. But then immidiately remembered something my Dad used to say when I was a kid. He was in advertising/commercials and spent a lot of time in LA. He was basically Don Draper.

"I've never seen a bad trailer"

Wow, that's just... wow, I mean.  It's got some... colour, I guess?  I guess that's going for it?

Holy crap did that NOT sound or look anything like CP2077, or even anything remotely like the gameworld of the tabletop game

Wow that's awful. Almost no movement whatsoever.

I lived through Space Angel so I can handle it, maybe.  The problem is it just doesn't look very good.

For those blessed few that have not seen Space Angel...

Pretty interesting.  I hope there's as much story as there is violence. I'll check it out ..

That's better.  I mean, it's got some more life to it... but why'd they have to sully my beloved Ode to Joy with this?  That song is NOT meant for a hyperviolent, hypersexualized cyberpunk dystopia future.

Just the opposite, in fact.

Which is one of the main reasons I think it is going to be crap.  When they are so far down the "shock" rabbit hole I don't have high hopes for it.  Worst example of this was AvP 2 where the facehuggers got into a maternity ward - EVERYONE involved in that needs to be fired for life.

Same. For me, the trailer looks like it has a dash of cyberpunk, a dash of Trigger, and a dab of Devilman Crybaby.

Well- this show ended up being a pleasant surprise.  A bit weird pacing at after the mid point following a time skip bit, extremely well done first half with an ost that is straight nova.

Just finished it. I thought it was ... good? Better than average, but I thought the animation was pretty pedestrian for this day and age. Not as amazing as I was expecting given the hype, but I may have been spoiled by Arcane.
