Finally received my Riobot Legioss reissue with Robotech branding at the back of the box. Very satisfied to finally complete the Legioss trio. Although I did it backwards... Iota, Zeta and Eta last . Just quickly took a peek to make sure it's the latest reissue with the golden eyes like the Zeta.

Too bad though about the Tread. That Robotech branding may have something to do with it becoming a Japan-only release. My crazy theory is Sentinel either drastically cut their planned production numbers to only serve the domestic preorders and totally disregard all the confirmed international preorders... OR... they went ahead with their planned production run and somewhere (probably a warehouse in China) there's a ton of Treads just lying around waiting for whatever issues that came up to be resolved. :unknw::ph34r:

I don't recognize that gundam model? What series is it from? Oh, wait..

Joke aside, the Eta was pretty colorful already. I kinda don't like the way this turning. It is like, are you trying to have a low visibility for the enemy or just fly around in a big bullseye target.

Too much going on with that design. a dish that becomes a shield with a gun that looks like a lance. Oddly long and weirdly angled canards. Forward swept wings with guns at the tip? And it's wearing what looks like some kind of Aussie sports uniform/tracksuit.

I’m honestly a bit confused by the purpose. It appears to be a recon unit in fighter mode, yet close combat in soldier mode. I guess it would be a bit cliche if it was a sniper in soldier mode, but close combat just seems like an odd choice.

You guys are a bunch of bah humbugs, I think it looks fun.

Not gonna ruin your fun, just a little confused by the choice in design and purpose. But if you don’t mind, then that’s really all that matters. Have fun with your toys and don’t let any of us ruin that for you

Or Tread reissue.

Were sales good enough for a reissue? It sure seems like it sold out really fast on the initial release.

Yes, I thought we would have heard of a reissue already... Hopefully Sentinel has something up their sleeve.

I got my Tread pre-ordered with Nin-Nin back at the initial pre-order, and have yet to hear from them about any shipping option, so I'm biding my time.  I asked about shipping when it came in, and they said something about their warehouse shipping working.. not like any other site I've seen with a warehouse option.  Something about shipping out as a bulk order at the end of the month?  I don't know.

But that was right as the tariffs hit, and I held off trying to ship it, since I don't know if they ever worked out a method.  Then holiday travel happened.  Hopefully I can actually get it shipped out soon.

There's areas that can be improved upon (the head turning to the side, a slightly wider A-stance, more knee bend, a thigh or knee swivel joint, and allowing the chest covers to drop just a smidge to not block the bottom row of missiles).

But it's such a massive, revolutionary improvement over all previous Tread designs that I gotta agree with your take.

This is what 15+ years of design improvements should look like (glares angrily at Bandai).

looks like the wings are forward swept with guns on the end.  Looks pretty amazing, just wish these werent close to $150 from domestic USA retailers.  Why doesnt Amazon have this?

this a new anime, Sentinels III?

"Another Genesis" is, sadly, neither a new anime series nor a Robotech sequel. 😉

It's damned weird, really, getting new mecha designs (from Sentinel and TakaraTomy!) four decades after the series went off the air... 🤨

Knowing your Mospeada toy collection is even more extensive than mine, I'm sure you're excited to see anything fresh and unique. ☺️

Is it me, or does it have kind of a Lego vibe going on?

No, I see where you're coming from what with the colors and stuff like the wingtip guns on forward-swept wings. Also the shoulder missiles kinda look like red flat pieces.

Maybe they waiting for HG permission

Does Sentinel actually need HG's permission?

It doesn't feel like they should but maybe they need an agreement with Toynami to distribute internationally and that's the hold-up? The Tread already has the Robotech license on the back of the box like the latest Legioss reissue. They originally didn't bother with international licensing because they felt the international sales wouldn't be large enough to warrant the headache of dealing with other companies but that may have changed with such a low demand item like the Tread. I could just imagine it being like "Hey, let's pay the 5% and get the HG license so we can sell this wholesale through international channels" and then they get the license only for HG to tell them "Oh, and you have to use Toynami and they want 5% also" and that being where the wheels come off. Who knows though, I don't have anyone left at the company to ask :(

I believe that, just as happened before with Tread, as explained above, HG might force them to put their seal on the packaging. After all, Dark Legion has been sold recently in the West, and we know how picky they are about their supposed properties (as happened at SDCC 2013).
