And three hours later, the after action report. This is probably the best of the series, and by that I mean the least awful. They managed to make it through the entire film without throwing in any unwaltchably crass toilet humor. Good job michael bay.

btw, I want a living metal rainbow dash that turns into an AR.

At the end, OP should say up up and away... :p

Right!

I'm in the theater right now waiting for it to start. I've got a very bad feeling about this.

Instincts on point...

And you may be right, it was definitely "better" than that POS Revenge of the Fallen and I could see the argument for it being better than Dark of the Moon, but I'm not quite there yet.

One thing I don't see being touched on, as the previous movies were very Bumblebee-centric, this one was undoubtedly Prime's movie.

There are some things that I need to reconcile in order to have a determination on which was "better";

1) Lockdown was awesome.

2) Hound is an awesome version of what Ironhide should have been.

3) Humans remain stupid, annoying and deserving of bad things happening to them.

4) Prime riding Grimlock and then...SAYING ROLL OUT! What the f#ck is it with Bay having Prime say roll out when he and/or the Autobots are doing anything but! In ROTF he flew away in that Jetfire armor and in this one he was literally riding Grimlock and the Dinobots were following, IN THEIR dinosaur mode. Not one damn Autobot was "rolling".

5) Prime. Can. Fly. With actual booster jets in his calves. Damn you Bay.

6) Prime is back to being a homicidal maniac. Only this time he wants to kill humans. "Thankfully" he only kills one, willingly/knowingly. Damn you Bay again.

7) Bumblebee remains kick-ass when off screen, but somehow always ends up in trouble when the action cuts away from him during large-scale battles.

8) The human made Transformers>Decipticons are seemingly more advanced than the Autobots, especially in the way that they transform, but are somehow infinitely weaker and easily destroyed.

9) The ghost of Megatron.

10) Back to the beginning. How the hell did Prime go from a broken-down, shot-up, piece of sh!t in alternate and robot mode and then "scan" his way into full repair?

11) Prime smacked Grimlock on the ass with his sword to make him run faster.

12) Giant Dinobots can apparently run away in the middle of Hong Kong and apparently not be seen.

13) Prime flew away, a la Superman to go and find the Quintesons, or whoever the hell created Transformers.

So yeah, better than ROTF, but again, which ugly girl is hotter.

This one is simple to answer.

Galvatron arguably did not give them sentient intelligence when he brought them to life, the corporate guys in control of Stinger were intelligent and knew how to control them.

Not at all, I'm not talking about their relative intelligence.

Referring to their seeming inability to take any type of physical damage before being destroyed. Despite having a transformation sequence that would make one think they have a physical, strategic advantage.

Bee transformers all the time during combat, these dudes could do their Terminator 2 liquid metal type deal during combat and do some damage. But no, they're nothing more than plot devices giving the Autobots something to fight/destroy.

Matter of fact, not one Autobot died after the first 15 minutes of the film.

Just seems like a missed opportunity.

^ all this: lol

I enjoyed it and will gladly see it again. ATMOS went live in our theater for this and made it even better.

After however many years and iterations of these movies, I still don't understand what it is you guys are expecting from all of it. Like suddenly he's going to say "MACROSS WORLD SAYS I GOT IT WRONG. HURRY UP GUYS, FIX IT. ALSO, CALL ALL MY DIRECTOR FRIENDS WHO GET ALL THESE OTHER MOVIES WRONG TOO!"

Eh, guess I'll never understand. ^^

If they would've left the toilet humor, the over sexualization, and the recruitment quality military footage melodrama out of the movie we may have had a better series of films. Then again, without those attributes they would've been different movies altogether...

I'm not paying to watch essentially two films in one with meat bag "drama" and "comedy" overly padding out all the stuff involving robots, let alone literally the same kind of movie 4 times in a row.

I'm officially sick of Transformers.

The mold is worn out, terrible story that negates the previous movies
terrible lead actress

The least realistic "Realistic" Transformers yet.

This movie proves that Bay himself is the most over-paid director of all time.
He makes Rob Cohen story's look manageable.

Hey! I debated "expectations" with these movies the last go-round I think. For me it's kind of like watching a train-wreck filled with toys and characters I liked as kid and I'm personally able to glean some enjoyment from that.

These movies are BIG, and DUMB, and cool-looking and if you can turn off a huge portion of your brain you might have some fun. For me Revenge of the Fallen failed because there was too much for me to ignore and it p!ssed me off, Dark of the Moon was "better" at the things I didn't like in Fallen.

Age of Extinction had tons of WTF moments involving story, plot, character behavior (won't say development because there wasn't much of that, however there was some - Stanley Tucci's character) but I was able to make it through the 3 hour run time without wanting to punch a small animal when I left, so with that crazy scale of expectations, I thought it was Ok.

Yea I saw Age of Extinction Thursday night, it was about exactly what I expected, extremely unfunny and stupid, with explosions and metal on metal carnage. I don't know how to describe it, but this one felt the most...generic? Like I said it's hard to describe exactly, this one just seemed to have less, something in it, definitely not explosions or overall run time, I had no idea this one was well over two and a half hours until the monstrous little teenage turd that worked at the theater told me. Most of these movies I liked the Autobots for the most part, but I found myself not even remembering the green and blue Autobots names, Hound was really cool though, he was definitely the best bot in the movie in my opinion. Dinobots were boring, and forgettable, did Prime really just make Grimlock his bitch in like 30 seconds? And why the f&!# can't Bumblebee talk yet? The most talkative Autobot in the history of Transformers and he still relies on stupid audio clips to communicate?

Just watched the Moviebob review and he thinks it is the best of the four so I might call some friends and watch it this week to see for my self.

However I recognize that my money will encourage Holywood and Bay to make more movies...

Do you have something against ushers?

Crosshairs and Drift, respectively.

Lol not ushers in general, but this particular one I do indeed have a problem with, and he's unfortunately at every major movie premiere night.

It's called terrible writing lol. It's not hard to figure out. Every single movie has negated the previous. For some reason Transformers keep no record of what anyone does throughout their history.

First the Allspark was the only hope for the race.

then the Energon machine was the only hope

then the Pillars were the only hope..

Someone forgot the Dinobots

I mean christ who's keeping records? maybe Perceptor should be in the movie to fix the plot holes with

"I'm sorry Optimus the page was missing. Megatron forgot Sentinel, The Primes died but somehow talk in death.

The Fallen obviously didn't think the All Spark was important. Most importantly, we don't know what happened to the twins, and

we never got a clear answer on what happened to the bike sisters.

Okay, so here's the answer the questions some may ask, cause I read those damn comic books. Now take note cause Dark of the Moon's comic book ending was different from the film, namely that instead of Megatron getting decapitated he survived and banished to cybertron.

So first off
1) Bumblebee regained his voice at the end of the Movie 1 due to the All Spark's effects kicking in. However, by the rest of the films his voice box seemed to not of been fixed.

Answer: During the story lines between Movie 1 and ROTF, Bumblebee is on escort duty. During which he comes under decepticon attack by I believe Starscream who smashes his voice box once again.

2) Whatever happened to the Trio? Arcee, Chromia and Elita One?

Answer: Again during the comic books, Arcee, Chromia and Elita One are attacked by Decepticons. Elita One is the only one who manages to escape while Arcee and Chromia try to hold them off to bring news to Optimus that Shockwave is on earth. Just as she manages to arrive in time Shockwave puts the Cybertronian boot on Elita-One killing her right infront of Optimus, and Arcee and Chromia were also killed during the battle.

This also ties into what happened to Mirage and Wheeljack as they became heavily damaged during the onslaught, Jolt and Ratchet repair the two fallen Autobots but the repairs are so extensive they both became entirely different bots, Dino and Q.

3) Skids and Mudflap, some of the most hated stereotyped characters EVER, yet, beg the question as to WTF happened to these numb nuts?!

Answer: This is where DOTM really starts to differ from it's comic book counter part. In the DOTM comic, Ironhide was the first to be killed by Sentinel's Cosmic Rust cannon. In retaliation Skids and Mudflap arrive, one is killed almost instantly and the other attempts to avenge his fallen brother only to get killed by Sentinel as well.
