Id never seen the anime, but i knew i liked the mech. And then the arm fell off at the shoulder. Now ok, I know this happened to several people. But the thing is, im in Australia. I emailed Yamato USA and they said send it back. ok fine, I sent it back (At another $50 postage for me) and recieved my new one 2 days ago. And the arm fell off. Now I had transformed this one ONCE, and then placed it ona shelf. not fiddled with. nothing. one transform, then straight to the shelf. Man this is ridiculous! I have emailed yamato again but since its Christmas i dont expect to hear back from them for some time. And i better get some damn compensation beyond a Garland that DOESNT have screwed up arms. If Im forking out another $50 to ship this damn thing back again i figure I now have $100 credit with them. I hope thyey deliver..... They don't have control of shipping fees. They are not going to give you credit when you didn't pay them anything for the replacement. The $50 you spend was to the Shipping company. A quick check at ToyBox DX pretty much shows it to be "problem of the year". You probably could get a third, fourth, and fifth, and have all their arms break off in a day. I think that's w hat is being meant, the peg on the swing bar connecting to the shoulder snaps with ease....I'm still really upset when ever i think how mine couldn't do 2 transformations without the right shoulder snapping off the swing bar. Hikuro Posted February 21, 2007 Share Posted February 21, 2007 Well, was about to take pictures of my garland and put it up for sale, the only problem was the right arm being snapped off the swing bar, still could transform and stay in place, but NOW the left arm had snapped off it's socket connected to the whell and shattered the socket connection area to put it back on. So now my Garland is officially scrap unless someones wants to pay 20 bucks (was gonna do 40 but now I'm dropping it again) for spare parts....Shogo figure is still in good condition, and the rest of the body is just fine except fo rthe arms. I got it at launch, transformed it three or four times the packed it back up cos I was moving house & it's been in there ever since... Edit: Felt the sudden urge to get it out tonight! Anyway it's nice and stiff and shows no signs of distress. Seriously though, My Garland is still fine and dandy, I have no idea why some people have had so much trouble with theirs. Brought it home went on Youtube to get accurate instruction and review (collectionDX) and when I got to the arm transformation the left arm broke off! Yamato needs to call UPS, give them your address, and they come out and pick up the Garland and deliver it back to Yamato at Yamato's expense. THIS CAN BE DONE. I used to work for UPS years ago and MANY companies did this if a product was found defective or damaged. I'm not trying to place a commercial for UPS, I'm sure DHL and Fed Ex does this too. Really floppy Holy cow, I didn't realize the figure could fit inside in bot mode. That's pretty nifty. The transformation looks ok, but I see those bars everyone's talking about. There is a little too much weight and stress on them. If this ever drops substantially in price, I'll give it a try, but as of now, I'm just not enough of a fan to fork over that kind of cash. If u read this thread u will see that i had 2 Garlands break in the same way; the shoulders, same as everyonee lse. I was eventually put in touch with a guy at Yamato USA, who was a very big help. he promised that new shoulder units were being made, and when they were he would send thm to me. In the same email he said if they werent made, he would send one of the newer garlands to me as a replacement. At no point did I have to return my previous unit (Again). Well i must say hes a man of his word. i got them today, and they do seem to be a much stronger plastic than before. i have attchaed the units and transformed the garland back and forth 3 times, as well as done some posing. Not a crack or stress mark in sight! Huzzah! While it WAS a long wait, i want to thank Garner for his help in this. He's kept me up to date on the progress of the shoulder units, and was prompt in sending them when they arrived. i hope everyone gives this very fine toy a chance when the newer versions come out, since I would have to assume they use these new shoulders as well. The shoulders of my two early Garlands are still fine, it's the tips of the metal bars that broke on both, where they connect to the front wheel. I was thinking that when the second releases come out, someone does a video review transforming it 4 times in front of the camera to demonstrate how tough they are hehe. Graham i dont see any changes to the otehr ones, but at the same time they appear to be fine. i never noticed any problems with the last ones though, so I dunno what to look for... I can say that Garland has survived around 14 transforms with out so much as a chip. seems like the gfixed the issue! gerwalk25 Posted March 30, 2007 Share Posted March 30, 2007 (edited) I received my replacement part for my Garland today. It came in a big box ala Christmas Story's "Great Reward" . I looked in that box and after a couple of minutes found the part. It's the whole shoulder/wheel/arm attachment and the die-cast swing bar to boot. I was just expecting the upper arm assembly but I'm more than satisfied! Props to Garner for his help! Now it's time for some minor surgery to the Garland!
