  1. So, THEY call me retard and I'm the one who's accused? Not counting Hurin who called me moron and jerk. What's more, there is evidence that the SDF-1 DOES have knees yet it's completely ignored. And yes, I was on topic. The guys calling me retard, not. As far I know, this thread is to discuss the toy, and that's exactly what I was doing until Hurin started stirring poo for no other reason than picking on a newbie. He had refrained from posting, none of this would have happened. You guys only have yourself to blame.
  2. Damaged? Let me laugh. It's no more damaged than when you decide to customize a Valk with paint and god knows what. There's even a forum here dedicated to people who are "damaging" their Macross figures. Not only the head was glued in, but it was crooked, which is not show-accurate either.
  3. Well, at first, it was the look of the Ostrich that brought me to buy it, I liked that radar thing on top and the overall shape of the jet. If a good 1/48 perfect transform version was to be made, maybe I would be interested.
  4. Had the Ostrich last year. I sold it back after 2 weeks, it was such a frustrating toy. The flaw you're pointing out was one that was annoying me amongst other flaws. Then I upgraded to the 1/148 Super Max, that was much better. And then I sold it back and got the YF-19, which is an even better toy imo.
  5. The ship doesn't need knees, but the robot-like form could use some since it insists on looking like a robot with legs, arms and a head.
  6. I love the engineering behind the toys, I don't care for stories. I'm a huge Transformers fan yet I only a saw a handful of episodes for Armada, Energon and Cybertron. Never watched Beast Wars. Never seen RID. I find the original movie pretty boring. I have yet to watch all the G1 episodes even though I received the boxset. I collect Brave toys, never seen the show. Same thing for Eldoran. I have a few Gobots, I have no interest in the show. Same goes for Robotech, Macross and all the shows related with the SOC figures I have.
  7. Whatever can justify your love for kidsy shows. Isn't funny that you finish your post with one last attack after asking everyone to stop?
  8. I'm interested in the mechas (TOYS), not the show. And as far as I know, this thread is about the toy, not the show.
  9. Since the above posters insist on derailing this thread despite what Hurin said... Sheer ignorance about a dumb tv show made for kids you mean? Yeah, I can admit that.
  10. At least that one is poseable at the hips...
  11. So you still don't admit the SDF-1 had knees for a millisecond even though you were showed evidence? EDIT 1 : my SDF-1 can turn its head and it looks way better that way. EDIT 2 : the way you're being anal about all this issue is way funnier than my ignorance on the subject
  12. I take it rules here don't apply to everyone.
  13. You indirectly called me moron while I said absolutely nothing wrong or demeaning. How about that? So that means I can call you moron too? The way you act certainly isn't worthy of an administrator. And no, I'm not completely wrong, it's been proven that SDF-1 had knees at some point in the show, even if it was an error.
  14. Well, knees would make it show accurate even if it was an animation error.
  15. You're a funny guy. I can voice my opinion just like you, no matter what your knowledge is about that show. And judging by the tone of your posts, I think you're actually the one who needs to calm down. It's just a stupid toy for a stupid show after all. The toy itself is still a good one despite the flaws that I find annoying as a mecha collector who doesn't care about the shows.
  16. So you won't even admit that you were just plain wrong? C'mon, there's absolutely NO trick of perspective in that picture, it definitely shows it has knees, there's absolutely no way you could have the SDF-1 in that position without it having knees.
  17. Knees don't bend yet the 2 previous posters say so? Dude, you don't need to be a full-on fan to enjoy transforming mechas, which is what I collect.
  18. There you go. How does it walk then with no knees? Unless it's not seen walking in the movie? Anyway, it looks way better with a turning head, makes for more dynamic poses.
  19. Bottom row, 5th picture. I take it you don't even own the toy? And even if it is not shown turning the head in the movie (although that drawing shows it can), you can assume it can. Because we don't see Rocky Balboa taking a crap in his 6 movies doesn't mean he can't.
  20. No, you see the anime version on the box, and the head is turned on that one.
  21. Look on the box, the head is clearly turned to the right. Can't care less for the show btw. But I take it Macross fans are happy with inferior toys. God, by chance we have CMS and Transformers!
  22. When you create a masterpiece figure, the least you can do is to give it better articulation and stay away from a toy design that's completely outdated. If I want an ugly brick, I will buy the original. Looking at the box with stills from the show, you can see that the SDF-1 can turn its head (turned to the right on the pics).
  23. Got mine this morning. Nicely detailed, but the thing is unfortunately somewhat flimsy and not very well articulated. I wish the arms could at least lock on the legs in ship mode. Would have been easy to give it knees and a head that could turn. But it's still an okay display piece. EDIT : looks like the head CAN turn... you just have to force it a bit, looks there was too much glue in there.
