I'd assume most collectors won't leave the LEDs on continuously, so it hopefully shouldn't be a problem. Quote
jenius Posted August 21 Posted August 21 Very impressive. You can April Fool's everyone next year by making it look like Sentinel displayed it at a show as the next release. Quote

The Evolution was the last Legioss I bought - maybe 5 years ago from Mandarake. In hand, it looked and felt like such a piece of junk. So much so that I actually disassembled it *completely* with the intention of 3D scanning/redesigning/reproducing a more faithful and sturdier toy. Pfft! With all of the pieces arrayed in front of me, including the incomprehensibly tiny and frail inner bits, I noped that plastic salad back into its box and dropped it off at my storage container where it still resides. I say all that to say this: the size and design of the POSE+ gives me hope for modding. Quote

You know Sentinel's ride-armors look better with Aoshima helmets... Aoshima boots... Smoked visors for the helmets... ...and Houquet requires a new face AND a total repaint. 46 minutes ago, 26662 said: In hand, it looked and felt like such a piece of junk. I can't abide this. Heck, they still look better than the upcoming Pose+ Legioss does! Quote

Heck, they still look better than the upcoming Pose+ Legioss does! You misunderstand/I wasn’t sufficiently clear. By “looked/felt like junk,” I am referring to the quality of the plastic itself rather than the toy’s design. [But don’t get me started on my copy’s (note: N of 1) abysmal tolerances.] I have the red one, and the surface sheen, translucence, heft, and in-hand-feel are the epitome of “disposable economy.” Quote
Mog Posted August 21 Posted August 21 I kinda forgot about the Aoshima add-ons. Did you get a chance to finalize the windshield change on the Blowsuperior? . . . Personally, I wasn’t too bugged by Sentinel’s choices with the Ride Armors, except for hot pink Houquet and the overly-busy HUD lines on the visors.* But it’s not too difficult to address those issues (and change the color on two of the bikes’ windshields too): * I also would have preferred a slightly lighter blue for Yellow. But it’s not a deal-breaker. Quote
MKT Posted August 22 Posted August 22 I totally forgot Evolution Toys ever made the Legioss lol. It's just so out of mind that I almost swore there isn't any until @tekering's pics above. Quote

I imagine the design team were aghast with every decision the factory engineers in China made. 13 hours ago, Mog said: Did you get a chance to finalize the windshield change on the Blowsuperior [sic]? Oh, I'd forgotten I'd even done that. 😅 And I keep telling you guys, it's "Brough," not "Blow." The Brough Superior is well-known to motorcycle enthusiasts the world over, including Shinji Aramaki. That's why his VR-041 is called the "Brough Superior" in Mospeada. The marketing team at Tatsunoko didn't know "Fuke" from "Houquet," "Lei" from "Ray," or "Brough" from "blow," and more importantly, they DIDN'T CARE. Imai, Arii, LS et.al used the English alphabet simply because Japanese pop culture thinks it's cool. None of these companies had any concern for the Western market, because it simply didn't exist back then. Four decades on, we know better. There's no excuse for Sentinel to still be using "Blowsperior." 🙄 Apologies for the pendantic rant; I'm an English teacher in Japan. 😣 Quote

Mog Posted August 22 Posted August 22 Maybe they didn’t push the arm boosters down all the way. But they couldn’t make the tailfins bigger? Especially at this larger scale? Nose looks a little thick too. Quote
jenius Posted August 22 Posted August 22 The center white chest part underneath is also hanging way too low. Definitely optimized for soldier mode. Quote
Sildani Posted August 22 Posted August 22 (edited) The white missile blocks on the outside of the legs are massive and hangs down in fighter mode. Chest piece as well. The fins are as small as some people's hands, proportionally to the massive nose. The wings are super thick to accommodate all the opening panels and internal detail. For the price they're charging this is inexcusable. Definitely optimized for soldier, as jenius says, and therefore not for me. Edited August 22 by Sildani Quote
Shawn Posted August 22 Posted August 22 I am amazed at the wing origami at 10:40...I thought it was somehow more of a solid piece for all those panel openings but it folds upon itself multiple times, impressive! Quote

Thankfully it only has to deal with Mars gravity.. I mean, I've always wondered how a Legioss could fly in any gravity in the first place. It's cool to see the Baldois I bought in the background there. I agree on this being a soldier mode queen... but that's why we have Sentinel... This thing is going to be an imposing 13" tall in the Mospeada cabinet. Edited August 22 by Test_Pilot_2 Quote
graphic revolt Posted August 22 Posted August 22 (edited) The presenter had designed a transforming cyclone in 1/28 in the initial embarkment to make this beast. What a tease! I'm wondering now if they have plans to do the Tread. Twice as big hoping to see if they add the transforming cyclone with it. Edited August 22 by graphic revolt Quote
Mog Posted August 22 Posted August 22 I shudder to think what price they’d toss out there for a Tread. The Sentinel and Toynami ones are already big bois themselves. We’d be getting into impractical sizes for a Tread at this scale. But despite some flaws, it’s minor miracles we got these well thought-out designs and improvements on the Holy Combo from Sentinel : Quote
