ArchieNov Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 By 1A, do you mean the CF? If so, that's disappointing. I was looking forward to having a correct adapter with my on-order CF 1A and Hikaru 1J to use with my other Hi Metals. I'd be curious to know if others have seen the same with theirs. I've tried using the one that came with my VF-1S in plain fighter mode, and as Jenius shows in his video, you can sort of make it work, but it's by no means ideal. Yes, I was referring to the CF.
Chronocidal Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 Wow.. can't believe they're that inept at including the proper attachments... Hopefully the Hikaru comes with the proper one, and someone can shapeways it for the rest of us.
wmkjr Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 They want everyone to get the super/strike parts set that will come out because of this. Plus, it'll only have the regular adapter to balance it out. Well played Bandai...
F360 Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 I'm pretty sure their plan is just to use 1 adapter for both instead of give you 2 adapters ,I mean it does work ok.

jvmacross Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Maybe Bandai's Max and Milia HMR stands were "inspired" by this pic? Or maybe the guy who came up with the idea is now at Bandai?
arbit Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 cool! but.. nothing beats the v2 1:60 M&M's!! hehe! Always wondered, other than the pilots and super parts, any differences between Virgin Road VF-1J and the regular Max VF-1J?
no3Ljm Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 I'm really liking the white/grey paint app on the back and legs boosters. It has a nice feel to it.
wmkjr Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 (edited) The Yamato virgin road is a VF-1D in Max's scheme. Edited October 9, 2016 by wmkjr
no3Ljm Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Always wondered, other than the pilots and super parts, any differences between Virgin Road VF-1J and the regular Max VF-1J? Virgin Road comes with VF-1D head.
spanner Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 (edited) Always wondered, other than the pilots and super parts, any differences between Virgin Road VF-1J and the regular Max VF-1J? yeah as previously mentioned, Virgin Road is a VF-1D and the other a VF-1J. The Virgin Road has a different head unit, cockpit section and different chest and back plate sections. And the heat shield.. Edited October 9, 2016 by spanner
ArchieNov Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 cool! but.. nothing beats the v2 1:60 M&M's!! hehe! I personally like the fast pack color scheme of the HMR better. Looks more coherent and doesn't stick out like a sore thumb as much as the canon color scheme.

sh9000 Posted October 9, 2016 Posted October 9, 2016 Yamato's and Bandai's M&M's both look great. Now it's time for Bandai to get in the spotlight.
Saburo Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 (edited) Got my HMR VF-1A, and the filler piece for the upper torso is nice and the joints on it were really tight on mine compared to the previous releases. Edited October 10, 2016 by Saburo
ssorcam Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Got my VF-1A and the optional TV head is missing the ball joint that allows the head to snap on the torso. Anyone else missing it?
derex3592 Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 So I hadn't seen anyone else attempt this yet on the HM-Rs so I decided to give it a shot.. I gloss coated the big wings just in case, but in hindsight you don't even have to do that. The plastic is plenty glossy just slap some dark dirt wash on, let it dry and wipe it off. Gonna do the rest of my 1A this week hopefully!

Gonna do the rest of my 1A this week hopefully! Nice start. I had thought of trying something similar, but was unsure as to what stuff to use. I did find this other page of where someone has done some nice panel line weathering to a original HM VF-1S: http://schizophonic9.com/vfhimetal_vf1s.html
derex3592 Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Pro Modellers Dark Dirt clay based wash for me. It's great. Washes away with water if you mess up as long as the surface is glossy. Works on pretty much all the Bandai stuff.
F360 Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Got my VF-1A and the optional TV head is missing the ball joint that allows the head to snap on the torso. Anyone else missing it? which part of the ball joint? does your tv head look like the one in the pic, if so you are not missing anything.
edstuff Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Its been a while but when i was doing washes i used to just water down black acrylic
ssorcam Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 which part of the ball joint? does your tv head look like the one in the pic, if so you are not missing anything. 2195e1a4.jpg Missing part circled in red. It's a shame.
F360 Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Missing part circled in red. It's a shame. Where did you preorder it from , you should email them asap Of course it will depends on if they have the extra stock or extra piece to sent to you.
ssorcam Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Amiami. I'll email them and see what they can do.
sh9000 Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Sorry to hear about the missing part. Hope none of mine are like that. I'll be sure to report on them and from which store when they all come in.
jaylive Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 i had a missing part issue with the gundam metal build red frame flight unit and bandai delivered with the part no problem. take a pic of your reciept with a pic of what's missing and email it to the website on the box. it took a month or so bit i am complete now. dont worry.

General Rasp Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 I feel the red on Mira's HMR needs to be more saturated. It seems pale when compared to Yamato's scheme.
