So I hear Hasbro just filed a butt load of Gobots trademarks. Could be nothing comes of it, but I'm secretly hoping that the next big IDW/Hasbro thing after Combiner Wars is Transformers vs. Gobots, with lots of Gobots CHUGs to come.

i'll take a pass on that idea. gobots were something i had but no attachment to the characters as transformers.

maybe if they made a movie and killed off leader-1 (whatever his name is) it might've emotionally scarred me to care. lol

Hell yes!

Had a crapton of GoBots as a kid. I'd love to see them get more love than "we named our Mirage repaint Crasher"

Trying to catch up in the comics before CW toys come out.

Which issue does Prowlevastator tear Superion in half?

Transformers: Robots in Disguise #15.

That arc, though, is RID 12-16.

what?

In the first Transfomers ongoing after All Hail Megatron (issue #8), Spike Witwicky (who was in charge of some government program to handle Transfomers) killed Scrapper, partly in retaliation for Devastator's role in AHM, partly to prevent the Constructicons from being able to combine again.

Later, in the "Chaos" event (Transformers #24-31), an entity called D-Void used some kind of power to combine several Decepticons and Sweeps. D-Void is defeated, and Cybertron is reverted to a "wild" state.

Skip ahead some more, Robots In Disguise. The war's over, Megatron is missing since Chaos, and the remaining Decepticons are being held by the Autobots. Prowl fits them with Inhibitor/Deterrence chips, basically explosives attached to their brains that can be remote detonated if they get out of line, and begins to reintegrate them into society (RID #1).

Prowl discovers a plot by Bombshell and moves to stop it. During the battle, he apparently kills Bombshell and activates the I/D chips in the Constructicons (RID #4).

It turns out that Megatron was, of course, still alive and wandering the Cybertronian wilderness, and was plotting behind the scenes all along. He'd had Bombshell plant a cerebro shell in Prowl, and it only looked like Prowl had killed Bombshell. Bombshell reconfigured the Constructicons so that Hook was the new right leg, and Megatron intended to become Devastator's new head. Before risking his own body and sanity, Megatron ordered Bombshell to use Prowl as a test subject. When Megatron finally came in from the wilds to spring his plan, he had Prowl and the Constructicons form Devastator. Superion showed up to fight Devastator, and Devastator (still with Prowl for a head) ripped Superion in half. Prowl eventually gets rid of Bombshell's mind control. (RID #12-16)

During the Chaos event, the Constructicons revealed that they actually liked Prowl from their shared time together, and convinced him to form Devastator again fight Monstructor (RID #27). As of the most recent RID story arc I've read ("Dawn of the Autobots"), Prowl and the Constructicons are still a thing, and formed Devastator to fight Galvatron's Decepticons on Earth.

Honestly, if you're not reading IDW's Transformers books, you're missing out on some good stuff. Especially More Than Meets the Eye.

So I'm not much into Transformers so I'm not really in the know, so I figured I'd ask here, has there been a Masterpiece Ironhide yet, official or third party? I have a TRU Masterpiece Soundwave with all his minions, he's my favorite Con, but I'd also like a Masterpiece of my favorite Autobot which is Ironhide. I've tried to do a bit of searching but as I said Transformers aren't really my thing, I wasn't even sure of the top Third Party names out there, if anyone can dial me in that would be great!

Dunno about third party, but the rumor is that Ironhide will be MP-27.

An official MP Ironhide is strongly rumored to be revealed this year.

For unlicensed MP Ironhides there is the upcoming TFC Toys Old Soldiers OS-01

or iGear PP05W Weapon Specialist which is roughly MP sized

Well hot damn, I guess I'll just chill and wait for the official one to be announced. I have zero idea why, but as a kid, I though Ironhide had one of the coolest vehicle modes, he wasn't a sports car, he wasn't sleek, but I just always thought he was really damn cool looking, plus his bot mode is obviously beast.

Ironically, I didn't care for Track's character, but I had the toy. Contrarily, I didn't have Ironhide, but he was one of my favorite characters. I had Ratchet, though. The original G1 toy for Ratchet and Ironhide was odd, so I can see why the animation model was changed. Hopefully , the MP version will do justice to his onscreen appearance. If so, a MP Ratchet will be sure to follow.

That sounds incredibly bad and ridiculous. Pretty much like fan-fiction.

yeah hopefully we'll see his anime appearance not the diaclone toy version

I liked the Tracks toy... until his hip fractured and his left leg came off irreperably.

i just remember that anyone in my neighborhood in the 80-90s who drove a trans am was automatically stereotyped as a "guido" who listens to "freestyle" music. (our neighborhood was usually spot on though)

maybe that coupled with flame top wasn't appealing. the other guy that was ugly as hell was skids in bot mode.

MOST of Transformers sounds like bad fanfiction. It's not, generally speaking, a franchise that lends itself to great storytelling.

We're here for the spectacle, and that sounds like a helluva spectacle.

Pretty much. Toy commercials can only reach so high haha.

I'm here for the sexy blocky bots haha

Tracks wasn't a Trans Am

"Guido" is sorta offensive, at least it was before Jersey Shore, and it certainly still is to my Italian-American in-laws.
