  1. Our very own SuperOstrich is one of the art honchos on this game and promises plenty of Macross nods. SDF Ares anyone?
  2. Just finished the series, mainlined it with the boys. Overall impressions are good, and we are looking forward to the second season. Pros: Nice fluid animation Unique styling Lots of nods to the original New overall storyline Nice designs all around More fleshed out characters Overall intelligent characters Nice buildup/discovery of powers Limited use of Voltron itself. Legit bad guys you can believe are bad and not sure caricatures. Cons: Coran, I dislike that he has become a joke. In the original he was a man of refinement and dignity, now he is worse than a man out of time. Pacing of the first episode. It started fine, but then felt rushed at the end in an effort to show us Voltron. Too much comedy. Lance/Keith rivalry, again too comedic. Character Stupidity (I hate when smart characters can't see the obvious right in front of them.) Reuse of animation (the show is making the same mistake as the original in regards to how Voltron forms) They brought back the mice. Has no one in the Voltron universe heard of operator's manuals?
  3. Lost both a Thunderbird and a Blue Angels jet today, crazy making.
  4. Not necessarily, if they are don't want to take over and someone makes a good enough offer... Also could they be more inclined to make a deal with Bandai and Big West then old dad?
  5. If the reshoots do not take away from the story, fine, if they add something great. SO long as they are not changing or cutting major scenes needed to tell the story I am good.
  6. So then the question is, who owns HG? Is it wholly owned, or is it publicly traded? If Agama is the sole owner, what happens to the company when he passes? Then once HG is no more, what happens to the ownership, does it revert back to Tatsunoko? Basically, it sounds like HG needs to cease to exist in order for Macross to start officially leaving Japan, and for a live action movie to take place.

  8. Much better trailer, actually makes me feel better about the movie. Of course that this came out right before Paramount dropped their Axanar suit is no coincidence. Paramount was running scared that the fan movie would be better than theirs. Will be interesting to see exactly what the deal they made with them is.
  9. Awesome, but how do you plan to display the city? Will you leave it pulled out, or does the leg open to reveal it like on the Yamato SDF-1?
  10. New ship/vehicle designs are kind of meh to me. The tank especially, why can Star Wars never have a good tank design? The droid tank in Ep1, is one of their better ones.
  11. That thing is gorgeous
  12. Other than the comedy being laid on a little thick, the trailer gives me hope.
  13. Wow, just wow, nice work
  14. This looks more promising then the live action flicks, its the 90s all over again.
  15. Ok, so it's not a real time render then, i.e. you render the scene from those angles, apply the textures then rerender?
  16. Nice, how did you do the in cockpit effect?
  17. I think the problem here is, that cosplay has caught up to hollywood in terms of what they can produce for a person to actually wear. In some ways they have surpassed it because they have more time to work on the costumes and more love of the source material. That's why we're seeing more and more CGI costumes with minimal practical parts. Still, the practical suits in TFA were amazing, want to see more of that in movies.
  18. It's sitting on top of my 17" laptop so I think it is bigger than 1:48, will measure when I get home. I saw a similar one that was 1:36 scale, I know these wooden models are weird scales.
