  2. Started a new thread just for Playmobil. I don't own a single Playmobil set, until now, but they've been putting out some really cool licensed stuff lately. I went ahead and ordered my first Playmobil set, the Enterprise from Star Trek. The retail price of $500 wasn't going to happen with me, not even $400, but if it ever went back down to $300 I'd bite, lo and behold Amazon updated their price again, about $303 plus tax, I jumped at that price, looks like a really cool set! https://www.amazon.com/Playmobil-Star-U-S-S-Enterprise-NCC-1701/dp/B097Q65LD7/ref=asc_df_B097Q65LD7/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=532786061004&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=18431480882016195698&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9030801&hvtargid=pla-1396380901868&psc=1
  3. So season 1 just finished. After suffering through Star Trek Discovery (except for the episodes with Pike) and Picard not really feeling like Star Trek ST Lower Decks was different and fun. Sure episode one felt like it was trying too hard with all the references and Mariner and Boimler being a bit Rick & Morty but they and the cast grow on you. It started feeling like a cartoon version of The Orville, which I feel is the spiritual successor to ST after Voyager. The finale though... who the hell thought these old TNG joke aliens would be back except upgraded?! Like damn. But the kicker was when a Federation ship shows up and a few seconds later you’re like wait what why is that am I hearing what I think I’m hearing?? YES!! (Trying hard to be spoiler free) Suffice it to say I enjoyed the campy romp of STLD and I’m in for season 2.
  4. Anyone collecting these? I've just started. Hoping there are fans here so I have people to discuss collecting these with. I've picked up the Enterpise-D and Enterprise movie refit. The D was flawless. Unfortunately, the movie refit had misaligned nacelles that are not parallel. One nacelle also sits higher than the other. It really bugs my OCD. I don't know if they are all like that or I just got a bad one? Is there bootlegs of these? I did get mine from China missing the book.

  10. Such an excellent actor, playing so many roles such as Sark in Tron and Evil in Time Bandits, not to mention roles in Star Treks V and VI.
  11. Pretty much what the title says: https://insighteditions.com/products/star-trek-kirk-fu-manual/ An example or two:
  12. With J. J. Abrams now doing Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Paramount Pictures, Skydance Productions, and Bad Robot announced the new director of the third Star Trek installment. Lens flares will now be replaced with neon lighting and NOS. "Ask any Starfleet Officer, any real Starfleet Officer. It don't matter if it's by an inch or a parsec. Winning's winning." "I live my life a warp factor at a time; nothing else matters. For those 10 seconds or less, I'm free." Star Trek 3's New Director Will Be Fast & Furious 6's Helmer Justin Lin
  13. I'm highly surprised there's no STO thread on here (forgive me if there is, I did a search and didn't find anything). This game rocks! I'm in the open beta and I have to say I'm very pleased. http://www.startrekonline.com/ There's a lot of extremely nerdy fanbois (mostly fans of the flowery "let's make friends with everyone" TNG era) who are saying it's "not real Star Trek" because there's "very little diplomacy" which isn't really true but oh well. The game has a strong TOS/TMP/DS9/VOY feel to it which I enjoy quite a bit. The basics of the plot are that it's 2409, Romulus has been destroyed, the Federation is still picking up the pieces, and the Undine (Species 8472) have been using their shape-shifting powers to create havoc in the Federation, culminating in the dissolution of the peace treaties between the Klingon Empire (now including the Gorn bent on galactic takeover, the Orions and the Nausicaans) and the Federation resulting in a very TMP like state where the two superpowers are "almost at war" and generally very hostile to each other. The Romulans are building their military and trying to reconstruct their Empire so they can join in on the fun, and then you have the Cardassians just waiting for a chance on the other side of the wormhole, and finally the Borg always present to just cause trouble. The Federation and the Klingons are currently playable, with the Romulans definitely being added later and more options being explored. All in all it's pretty good. This is my current ship, the U.S.S. Crozier, NCC-91848, a Constitution II-class Cruiser obviously. I don't have any shots of my Miranda-class Light Cruiser (the starter ship) named the U.S.S. Arkhangelesk unfortunately, but I assume most people know what the Miranda-class looks like. The game has a really cool ship customization system. Vostok 7
  14. Hey guys, just saw this over the weekend and was blown away by it. I wanted to spread the word about this production as I found it very well done. It's done in a "documentary" style and has impressive visual effects that combine some of the JJ Abrams fleet ships but with some TOS touches to them. THE STORY "Axanar takes place 21 years before the events of Where no Man Has Gone Before. It tells the story of Garth of Izar, the legendary Starfleet captain who is Captain Kirks hero and the role model for a generation of Starfleet officers. Garth charted more planets than any other Captain and was the hero of the Battle of Axanar. His exploits are required reading at Starfleet Academy. This is the story of Garth and his crew during the Four Years War, the war with the Klingon Empire that almost tore the Federation apart, and whose resolution solidified the Federation and allowed it to become the entity we know in Kirk's time. It is the year 2245, four years into the war with the Klingons." Check it out here! Edit: new link to current fundraiser. Link has all videos in it including Prelude to Axanar. https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/star-trek-axanar/x/11444193#/story Chris
  15. So for those of you who live in the UK, Star Trek: The Next Generation is finally back on air on the new CBS Action channel. I have finally picked off from season 2 which was airing when Sky Three, the former British broadcaster went defunct, way back in in the late 2000s if I remember correctly.
  16. It looks like James Horner has died in a plane crash. No absolute confirmation yet but it sounds like it was probably him in the plane. If so, farewell to a truly iconic soundtrack composer. I have many CD's of his work in my collection......
