Loving it, can't believe how awesome this looks. I would love to see what you could do with my designs.

Star Trek Beyond (the not The Search for Spock)
Knight26 replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The movie was enjoyable, far better than Into Darkness with no giant gaping plot holes. The only issues I had with it were minor and nothing that could really ruin the film. The extra screentime for McCoy and Scotty were quite welcome (as they have the two best actors portraying them) and the humor was great. I laughed more at the jokes in this one, in and otherwise, then I did at the Ghostbusters reboot. There were also plenty of nods to Macross in the movie, I counted at least four: I'm sure there may have been more but those four jumped out at me.- 466 replies

Game of Thrones Theory Discussion. Books. Show. Spoilers.
Knight26 replied to Gakken85's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
Dang!!! Just dang, we've been waiting long enough for this, all of this. This may actually be a better and more satisfying episode then even the Battle of the Bastards. Jon almost needs to marry Lyanna Mormont for that speach.- 539 replies

Star Trek: Prelude to Axanar short film
Knight26 replied to Dobber's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
The question fans are asking now is if it is retroactive to in-production fan films as well. That will be the only thing that might save Axanar, Renegades, Phase II, etc... What is really going on here is that Paramount is scared that the higher end fan productions will outshine their movies and TV shows. Paramount should have included a clause regarding permission for longer projects, or projects that use professional crews. By doing that they could monetize the fan film under their label, almost like a Star Wars Infinities thing, the fan film makers could get their costs covered with any profit going to Paramount. The thing I laugh most about with this, is how ST fans said the Disney purchase of Lucasfilm would kill SW fan productions, and now Paramount is killing ST fan films.- 94 replies

I'd say let them try, DreamWorks would just buy them outright.

Why is no one mentioning Max and Hikaru? They go into the sim with Millia.

That actually sounds better then what we are getting with him now, and would make a lot more sense. Maybe have Allura recall how he used to be much more level headed and refined, even flashback to show it.

I rewatched the beginning for the cameos again. Roy sure is there, twice, once right after the sim session and again when the cadets sneak out. The Millia cameo is there too, but look at her crew when they enter the simulator, one has blue hair, her with green, and the other black with a distinct, familiar fly away cut. I almost want to rewatch the scene to see if the blue haired cadet has glasses, making them Vermilion Team. It's a fun watch and a nice way to kill a slow weekend. The show picks up well towards the end. If it keeps up at the pace it sets towards the end of the season then it should make a good series.

Just finished the series, mainlined it with the boys. Overall impressions are good, and we are looking forward to the second season. Pros: Nice fluid animation Unique styling Lots of nods to the original New overall storyline Nice designs all around More fleshed out characters Overall intelligent characters Nice buildup/discovery of powers Limited use of Voltron itself. Legit bad guys you can believe are bad and not sure caricatures. Cons: Coran, I dislike that he has become a joke. In the original he was a man of refinement and dignity, now he is worse than a man out of time. Pacing of the first episode. It started fine, but then felt rushed at the end in an effort to show us Voltron. Too much comedy. Lance/Keith rivalry, again too comedic. Character Stupidity (I hate when smart characters can't see the obvious right in front of them.) Reuse of animation (the show is making the same mistake as the original in regards to how Voltron forms) They brought back the mice. Has no one in the Voltron universe heard of operator's manuals?

Not necessarily, if they are don't want to take over and someone makes a good enough offer... Also could they be more inclined to make a deal with Bandai and Big West then old dad?

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, in theaters Dec. 16, 2016
Knight26 replied to Dobber's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
If the reshoots do not take away from the story, fine, if they add something great. SO long as they are not changing or cutting major scenes needed to tell the story I am good. -
So then the question is, who owns HG? Is it wholly owned, or is it publicly traded? If Agama is the sole owner, what happens to the company when he passes? Then once HG is no more, what happens to the ownership, does it revert back to Tatsunoko? Basically, it sounds like HG needs to cease to exist in order for Macross to start officially leaving Japan, and for a live action movie to take place.
