  1. Today
  2. It's a brilliant toy. No doubt. I picked up mine at around $200 when Yamato was still around. And these days, i personally can't justify that 60,000 yen price for any of my hobbies anymore. If it's your holy grail, then it's worth it, obviously.
  3. No cracks on my 11's, two of which I paid $120 for...
  4. Being Canadian, it took me a moment to figure out the joke.
  5. The same problem happens in the 11B and there are a couple other hinges that will have similar cracks.
  6. I noticed this too, but I would just chalk it up to general KO imprecision. I wouldn't be surprised if it was related to the check locking tabs, and their relative size. Everything's just a little off compared with the originals. It's not enough to make it fall apart (mostly), but things just don't fit quite as well.
  7. I've fallen behind. Finally started watching Frieren. I basically agree with everyone: last season was pretty meh overall. Now its sequel season!
  8. Starting a new one... Cultural Exchange with a Game Centre Girl. After one episode, it feels like light "feel good" sort of entertainment. Nothing deep or complex, just people having fun together and learning about each other. If I had to sum it up in a short punchy remark... "It's a vibe". A very cheerful, upbeat vibe at that. Another new one... See You Tomorrow at the Food Court. Between the general weirdness, the constant non-sequiturs, and the shortform stories it reminds me a lot of Azumanga Daioh.
  9. Yes, B2Five's ride armor. Details can be found in page 340 onwards ... 2 years ago.
  10. Private Tutor to the Duke's Daughter has a new episode... and it's probably going to be the first series I drop this season.
  11. Wasn't there a ride armor that fit the pilot figure for the Pose+ Legioss?
  12. That is definitely another possibility, yes. To be honest, I kind of hope that Macross's creators don't go that route yet. The scarcity of fold quartz and its amazing potential to revolutionize technology has been the centerpiece of two major conflicts in the setting thus far. Unless we're moving way down the timeline it would feel like too much progress too quickly for Humanity to suddenly go from needing to scrounge around in Protoculture ruins and old Vajra nests for leftover fold quartz to being able to manufacture the stuff on their own without limit the way they do fold carbon in a measly few decades when it took the Protoculture a century or two. Not to mention what a massive, massive game-changer it would be for every aspect of technology.

  14. Let’s wait and see more details of the POSE+ in the coming Comic Cons this month.
  15. Another possibility: they make a breakthrough on fold quartz production in some manner. That, or they produce fold half-gallons.
  16. Of course, Superman doesn’t need one at this point....I was referring to characters like Mr. Terrific....in Creature Commandos they at least gave enough of a background for the characters to be able to just go with it...it also helped they had more time to do so since it was a series....in either case, it wasn't the biggest problem with this movie....the biggest problem was that it was just "ok" for being the more general audience reboot for the DCU...
  17. Thanks @jenius I did end up biting the bullet and getting it.
  18. I only knew him from his Starfire books which were solid entertainment - casually based on a really fun board wargame. Rest in Peace.
  19. Time to flex... I should check my three for these cracks.
  20. At this point anyone needing an origin movie for Superman - is not going to see a Superman movie anyway. Planning on seeing it next weekend, no other big releases coming up till the 25th so hopefully still in Imax, a regular theater if not.
  21. Just saw it. It's ok....not the kind of movie you'd be counting on to reboot a franchise. There really was just one major change to the Superman lore....it really did nothing to make me rethink the character. The only thing that I really think did and will make a difference in this "rebooted" DC universe is that apparently the need for "origin" movies are no longer needed? It certainly forces you to just go in with an open mind and just hope the characters can make things "work". For the most part, they did for me....however, I was left wondering the most about Mr. Terrific. To me he seemed the most interesting new character that I wish I knew a little more about. He apparently was sort of like an Iron Man, where his powers are all derived via tech. In short, an ok movie but it just seems like a very low key franchise reboot....only time will tell if it all works....tbh....I take that back....Creature Commandos was technically the first offering for the new DCU....and it was better overall IMO than Superman...that also had a bunch of characters I knew nothing about...but it all worked...at least for me...
  22. Be aware that the Yamato 1/60 VF-11 molds are prone to having lots of little cracks but they rarely lead to catastrophic failures.
  23. The one thing they didn't do, that I wish they had, is eliminate the hinge on the panel behind the cockpit. Instead of that panel flipping over the way Gakken did originally, it should recess into the cavity. The array that goes over the shoulder should swivel out on linkage that allows it to sit above the shoulder without that panel being used. The array would twist back toward the exhaust, then pivot on an arm at the back of the chest piece, and then hinge to flip up and over. At this scale, they could have been the first company to make that happen. If they ever did a Shadow/Dark variant (which they obviously wont) that also would eliminate one of the mold changes necessary.
