  1. Past hour
  2. Money wasn't ever an issue for this sequel. The hurdle was the schedule to get it going. Still rumoured to be released next year.
  3. Today
  4. Yeah, but at least he bears a strong resemblance to an older Jeff Hunter. And "knock it off"? I will not, good sir! I will rib you 'round the Moons of Nibia and 'round the Antares Maelstrom and 'round Perdition's flames before I give it up! And then...Perdition's Flames Barbecued Ribs! You bring the cole slaw.
  5. Here's a video in English with some of the stuff you could buy at the exhibition. Actually you are not allowed to take videos but they did quick short shots of the venue. You could only take photos with a phone camera. Though most of the pages had glass protection and you'd get glare. I only took pictures of the ones that really interested me. I mostly ignored the non-GITS stuff. Buying Everything at the NEW Shirow Masamune Exhibition in Tokyo!
  6. that's good to know. sounds like i got my review. Well, you never know... the riobot bikes can break. i may take the old beagle bikes over the new riobots. I hope that huge robotech alpha fighter will or someone someday have individual removable micro missiles or have some smoke effect parts.
  7. Went to the World of Shirow Masamune exhibit and got these: T-shirt, mug, stickers, and artbook. Was on strict budget as it was only day 2 of 6 of my Japan trip so couldn't buy any more. Also found this in Uniqlo.
  8. Those cockpit features are a nice touch.
  9. That’s just dust, not weathering. 😁 I did sticker and panel-line her up years ago, along with making a bigger “MB 07” stickers for the wing. I wish I had more Danger and No Step stickers left from the Toynami’s (yes, plural). But we’ll see what I can pull off. Still gotta check out the fighter combo. Understand, I still absolutely love my old Toynami Betas; they been the unquestioned king for over 15 years now. But my goodness, the Sentinel is a REVOLUTIONARY improvement to the Tread/Beta. It’s like going from the 1/55 Takatoku to the Yamato 1/48. I mean, I always said someone could reduce the gappy-ness and better integrate the cockpit for soldier mode. Sentinel did that. Then they incorporated the connecting boom AND solid landing gear directly into the figure (and not as separate pieces?)?!?! WHAT?! I’m just amazed at all the little tricks and bits this figure pulled off. Just all sorts of nice decisions you can see in the design. There’s some markings I’d personally change, as personal preferences. And the limited range of motion on the head is frustrating. But this is the design that all future Treads/Beta Fighters should be based off of. It’s that damn good. We have a new king. 👑
  10. Did they put the elbow pads in the sides for the heavy armor also? Someone needs to teach this company how elbow pads work
  11. Still keeping my fingers crossed for that one
  12. That's a cool weathering job you did on your Masterpiece Beta, @Mog. Mine still has that "new toy" look. 😉 I'd say the Toynami is closer to the SDF-1 color scheme, whereas Sentinel's blue is more VF-1J Max... Prolonged exposure to sunlight may have exaggerated the color difference on yours. 🤔 That's either a rhetorical question, or you're just being facetious. 😅
  13. so which one is better
  14. @SteveTheFish Sounds cool. Rippin into this little 1/35 Artpla Ma.K. As fast as I can. Got it primed in Mahogany, did a first round of seam removal/putty. Moving into a second round of sanding/putty to tighten things up. Got a bit of MR Color 28 on the exposed frame parts and hand. Once seams are completely gone and final bits attached I’m going in for brush painting lacquers. I wanted to do this for my last build but chickened out and went back to the airbrush. Well the subject matter and tradition set me on a certain trajectory to try out something new and experimental for me. So excited 😆
  15. How was the crowd from your theatre? I was at Toho Cinemas Hibiya and most people weren't singing or shouting or anything. A few brought along their glowsticks and that was it. Only got a little noisier near the end. I like the comfort of the cinema but you can't shout or let a little loose like at the venue itself. Also went to K-Arena and got some merch. If I'd known it was possible to order online could have ordered more online. But you'd need a forwarder and I really haven't tried it.
  16. Apologies in advance: the old girl was exposed to the sun over the years and yellowed in spots. And the yellow cockpit windows have gotten scuffed from being in fighter combo mode. Also, forgot to push out the two circles in the middle of BOTH bombers’ chests. BOMBER COMPARISONS: As I alluded to above, the Sentinel Legioss’ design definitely helped to reduce the gaps in the Tread’s bomber mode and greatly reduced the length of the connecting boom. The Toynami’s chest is wider, but also very gappy in comparison: You can also see that the Toynami tends to “look” wider and flatter. While the Sentinel tends to have more of a curvy look. Also, if you don’t put down the middle booster flap, the Toynami is a bit back heavy and wants to tilt back. However, that little flap is a lot stronger and firmer on the Toynami than it is on the Sentinel. Lastly, the Sentinel has a deeper, almost Macross/SDF-1 blue, while the Toynami has a more grayish blue hue. Pilots: Sucks that Sentinel’s is fixed pose too. But the Sentinel does have one additional opening the Toynami doesn’t have: My eyes and my hands are gonna hate trying to paint this fixed pose bastard. EDIT: Just discovered you can lower the cockpit further down. Whoops:
  17. @captain america: May I please purchase the standard 1/48?
  18. The eBay listing is live: https://www.ebay.com/itm/167683570826 (At a higher price to offset eBay fees) Etsy sometime soon. Prices will be in the same range. I have also posted a thread in the for Sale & Trade section (will link, pending approval). Although it has been a while since I've sold here on the forums I should still be on the straight-shooters list.
  19. You know, I've always wanted one of these: Well actually, two. 😉 They're great for expanding the SDF-1 displays, and extending the lore, too... Haven't you always wondered what this would've looked like? I also wanted to give you a clearer look at the tiny Destroids I've printed up: Gotta pull out my trusty macrofocus lens for close-ups, since the detail is too small to photograph without special equipment (and impossible to see with the naked eye). Yeah, I know there weren't any Spartans depicted on the SDF-1, but I didn't want them to feel left out. 😅

  20. Hey! I did put some qualifications! Obviously, never say never. But at this point, it’s probably going to only be 3.75” figures being added to the collection. This is likely the last mecha hurrah for me.
  21. Can it grip it? Yep! And I don’t need the trigger extension like with the Toynami Beta: As you can see, the head doesn’t exactly turn much without having a heavy tilt. So, the Toynami wins out on that front. But yeah, just went through a solo bomber transformation process. Absolutely ingenious how they fit the landing gear in there and incorporate tabs to keep everything locked in. Digging how everything tabs or hides with this rendition. Lot of nice little improvements everywhere with the design. The chest is not as wide and “beefy” as the Toynami. But the Sentinel’s bomber mode is definitely less gappy than Toynami’s, as a result. Sentinel’s forearms are also slightly bigger and not as rectangular as the Toynami’s. Gonna snap some bomber comparison pics now.
  22. Looking at getting all of my Hasegawa loot out of private warehouse. Can't seem to get any options , other than EMS and air. I'm probably gonna continue to wait it out , as hlj seems to be fine holding my loot.
  23. If I had a dime for each time I've heard this or said it myself I'd have two whole stuffed crust pizzas. Awesome pickup!
