  1. Past hour
  2. The review will be in 2 parts, it will stop at the intermission. Some info before we begin. This is the BIGGEST Macross concert to date - 19,000 people. Total sold out for both days (26th & 27th July 2025) Only the 27th concert was Telecast LIVE to certain countries. We settled down into our seats, the screen was showing the title and rules for watching. After awhile the telecast started and we are taken to K Arena, Yokohama. BG music from Frontier already playing. We could see the audience eagerly waiting like us, for the concert to start. At the point where ‘Innocent Green’ was being played, the stage became brighter. It’s a huge wide stage (26 meters)! The 1st song was ‘Sacrifice’. It started with May’n singing from a glass booth(balcony) on the right top part of the stage, around 10 meters from the ground. She wore a white ‘priestess looking gown’. The main screen showed a ruined Observatory like structure. She was joined by Megumi who was on the far left of the main stage dressed in a white gown also. At the top of the main stage, was the 1/1 scale YF-29 Durandal (Alto’s plane) resting on the stage and weathered. Without completing the song, the stage goes black and a minute later the lights came back on. We see Megumi there. The scene now changed to the interior of the Observatory. She started singing the 2nd song - Labyrinth of Time. Halfway through she’s joined by May’n (still in the glass booth) singing a slow Diamond Crevasse. At the end of the song, we saw the 1/1 scale YF-29 slowly rising (this thing is huge!) from the stage with smoke effects into the air (30 meters above the stage). An impressive sight with a rising soundtrack! Everyone was excited! First time seeing something like this! As soon as it reached the top the stage, a loud crack sound effect and the stage goes dark! This represented the ending of The Labyrinth of Time where Alto’s YF-29 located him and flew off to fetch him back to Sheryl. Amidst the smoke effects, May’n (in her Sheryl inspired blue military costume) and Megumi stood on the top tier of the main stage. They sang ‘Triangular - Fight on stage’! The background screen shows a close up view of the Macross Quarter. YF-29, and the rest of Skull squadron (VF-25s) began to fly around the Quarter! The next song was ‘Welcome to My Fan Club’s Night!’. Only May’n remained on stage. The crowd loved it as she gave a strong finish. Next up is ‘What ‘bout my star?’. May’n sang with a softer/cute voice. Her expression were more playful. She came down to the Main Stage, where all the musicians were and we can see a quartet of strings. She then strolled down to the SMS stage. She ended the song with a heart sign pose. The next song got the crowd screaming! Northern Cross! She stood on the top tier stage. The background visuals looked like she warped out from another dimension! The chanting of the audience at Yokohama gave everyone rising expectation! Even for us who were watching in the cinema, felt like we were there! Each time she reached the end of the chorus, she would belt out the lyrics, full of emotions, the fans totally loved it! One thing I noticed missing, in the past the fans would follow her doing the ‘Northern Cross sign’ with their light sticks but after Covid-19, it’s no longer followed! The song ended with a fantastic finish! Stage went dark and then the familiar opening to Sagittarius Gogo 9pm - Don’t be late! Another guaranteed hit! May’n ’pulled’ off her Blue Military costume to reveal a sexy black leather strap costume also inspired by Sheryl! The fans shouted a ‘WOW!’ She shouted ‘K Arena! Listen to my Song!’ . She strut down to the main stage and confidently delivered the song! At one point, the main screen was showing what looked like a hundred missiles doing that ‘Itano Circus’ thing! When come the chorus part, she ran to the left side and looked at the fans from the Arena to the top floor, acknowledging their presence and then ran the length of the stage to the far right, doing the same there. All this while the fans cheer as hard as they possibly can! Super fun song! Then it’s Megumi’s turn. She appeared somewhere in the middle of the Arena, wearing an orange dress. As she walked slowly to the SMS stage, she sang her iconic ‘Aimo’. The audience turned their light sticks to green. A beautiful haunting piece. The next song was ‘Neko Nikki - Cat’s Dairy’. The Main screen showed colorful shapes and stars. She sang in a sweet but mature voice. Next was ‘Ánata no Oto - The Sound of You’. Delightful. Following a streak of Ranka’s best songs was ‘Seikan Hikou’, where in Episode 12 Ranka arrived in time to save the day in Micheal’s VF-25G armed with amplifiers. That scene was recreated here with the YF-29 coming down and hovered above Megumi at the top tier of the stage! The stage goes dark once the song concluded. From the dark came the song ‘What ‘bout my Star@Formo. She made her way down to the SMS stage. Once she completed the 1st verse, she was joined by May’n (sexy outfit) from the top tier stage. They then met each other at the main stage. Time to engage with the fans. May’n shouted ‘K-Arena!’ and Megumi shouted ‘Yokohama!’ The crowd responded in kind. Then May’n again shouted ‘K-Arena!’ Megumi hesitated and then shouted ‘Yokohama!’. They then introduced themselves and the title of today’s concert. They thanked everyone attending the concert including those watching the LIVE telecast. They looked at a camera and want to hear us cheer but what they got was cheering from Yokohama audience! May’n then request the Yokohama fans not to joim in. They both looked at the camera again and encouraged us to cheer. Of course we cheered though we know they can’t hear us. Next, they called out to those at K-Arena! May’n shouted ‘AREEEENA!’ , the crowd in the Arena section replied in a tremendous roar. Then it’s Megumi’s turn - ‘Level Three!’ and followed by 5 and 7. And finally ‘Everyone!’ Then May’n shouted ‘Megumi!’ She let out a loooong cheer! Which surprised everyone! Megumi then shouted ‘May’n!’. An May’n does the same but goes down on the knee as if out of breath! They then thanked everyone for their continuing support of Macross F. Coincidentally, today (27th May) is Alto’s Birthday! So the 2 of them devised a greeting and asked everyone to join in - Happy Birthday Alto Kuuun! (stress on the Kun!) What followed felt like a comedic moment, where Megumi spot a cute voice and introduced the next set of short commercial jingle songs from the Macross F movies. Since it’s a Karaoke, May’n invited the audience to join in. The 1st was Pink Monsoon (1st ever time performed in a duet), they sung the song back to back and May’n doing all the sexy moves! Next was the Nyan-nyan song (May’n), Dynamic Chougokin (May’n), Daimaru Seminar (Megumi), Starlight Natto, Ninjin Loves you yeah!(when Megumi sang the crowd shouted Ranka! But when May’n sang the crowd shouted May’n!??), Koi wa Dog Fight and finally Gira - Gira Summer. The song ended with a salute pose with their body bend backwards! May’n was more extreme, wondered how she could bend that far back without tipping over! Seriously these two were having a good time and playing around on stage! Stage goes dark afterwards . A wormhole appeared, and the YF-29 started descending from the ceiling. Alto’s voice (Yuichi Nakamura) began to broadcast. The plane reached Earth, tilted upward as it descend through the atmosphere - fiery scene with fireworks shooting from underneath the plane. Once cleared, it was blue skies and the plane tilted downward - to reach Yokohama - lots of lights and fog effects. It even tilted left and right (flying thru turbulence). Finally it arrived and the plane tilted upward and rise back up to the ceiling as if flying over the audience! Then the stage goes dark. This was actually an Intermission!
  3. Interesting, so it has weapon mounting points on the shoulders, legs and wings
  4. Today
  5. Operation Night Strikers has hit the market: For me, Night Striker alone along with its Zuntata soundtrack makes this one a worthy purchase. This also sets up the sequel quite nicely:
  6. Definitely not the best of the season. SNW has done some good humorous episodes but this was clearly an example of trying way too hard. Which is a shame as, other than Mount acting way over his pompadour to be Captain Conehead and the Una/Doug-thing, there was (I think) a good story hidden inside the whole mess. I really liked Chapel's iteration, as she was not flamboyantly over the top, and I would have really liked to have dived deeper into her cutting off Kolby and her friends. Uhura brainwashing What's His Name could have floated a third of the episode with the rest anchored by La'an's decent into villain-hood. If they had done this with the intent of telling a drama rather then bending over backward to twist it into a comedy it could have been a really strong episode. Instead, it was dragged down by the weird hair transitions, the slow-mo walk and having the actual mission solved in under 10 seconds. I did like seeing Kirk again and interaction with Scotty, though his reason for being there was pretty flimsy. It seems the Federation isn't all that big anymore if the Farragut is still right around the corner. On racism, I have to say I didn't see any. To me, what they were showing was nothing more than the usual Vulcan logic-bred arrogance that we've seen all through Star Trek. They were literally stating facts that Spock was only half Vulcan, so yeah, 4.5 Vulcans.
  7. Looks like we'll know very soon!
  8. Yesterday
  9. Pretty much the whole thing!
  10. Mospeada Another Genesis, is this some side story? I wonder how much these will be. Twich
  11. Need parts? Found this on EvilBay: https://www.ebay.com/itm/226948256646?mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=711-53200-19255-0&campid=5338722076&customid=&toolid=10050
  12. Finally saw it yesterday and boy am I glad I did not pay the money to see it in a theater. The only real problem is that it was lackluster. And the lead just didn't have me believing he was Superman (I didn't like the previous Superman movies but I bought into Cavill as being Superman). A bit of the other three supers was OK (when being used for comedy) but they really didn't need to be there at all. The final kicker is if Lex can create a pocket universe Superman should have been no problem at all.
  13. I wish I had the space, but unfortunately, it’s the 1/144 version for me
  14. Christian Bale Bats.
  15. Love that skull design. Very cool. Also best of luck on the Beta. 👍
  16. Not Macross or Anime related, but these custom Vietnam M1 helmets are on my workbench at the moment. Mospeada related, I'll be working on a Dark Tread/Shadow Beta soon, I'll be using the MPC Beta that never was as my guide. I'm just waiting for the paint to arrive.
  17. I've always wondered how to pronounce that! I just shorten it to N-Ger and pronounce it like 'anger'. @Papa Rat That Elint is looking good so far! It looks like you're in the home stretch. @Cheese3 I love your classic kit lineup! I've built a few of those you've got pictured there. I have such a big soft spot in my heart for the classic kits. It feels good to know someone is still working on bringing those to life!
  18. Sounds like something you'd order in an NYC Deli
  19. 🤯 oh and thanks for the pronunciation. 👍
  20. Oh man, those vintage Valkyries are rough, but that Gundam... 🫣 I suppose that depends on where you're getting them. 😅 I'd never send anyone parts that hadn't been thoroughly washed, dried, and cured first, but I suppose you can't expect that kind of professionalism from everybody. If you've got the IPA, it certainly wouldn't hurt to wash any resin parts before priming. No way! The bigger, the better. I have the 1:60 KOG with buster on pre-order. 😋 FYI, it's pronounced "New-Jar Dell-gar." 👌
