  2. I'll say this, the whole warrior culture thing seems waaay off base. This is a hunting culture, not a warrior one. Or at least that's what it was built up as, to me. The one thing I've always felt that the comics/expanded lore/etc. gets wrong is not adhering to that distinction. Like, I'd like to see more survivalist or conservationist philosophizing girding the backbone of the civilization, not... bushido. As it is, absolutely none of the story and character beats are at all surprising or interesting, just executed competently enough as to be entertaining. This same movie, starring a Les Stroud-/Steven Rinella-(/Jeremiah Johnson-, for the more grizzled among you )type predator, would have been very interesting. But I can't deny I had a good time nonetheless.

  4. I wonder if they're going to bother concocting a reason for the gang to be together again. Frankly, I'd rather they not, just have it be a standalone episode and let the fans figure out the canon if they really absolutely must do so. EDIT: New page tax:
  5. Might mean nothing, but an AliExpress seller is showing a 1/19 arrival of the GLAUG in their preorder there. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256809385913588.html
  6. Geez, you're right. That is huge. That thing is gonna take up some shelf real estate!
  7. Macross EXTRA I & II on Record. With the posters and the very rare insert.
  8. Totally love seeing how this is coming along
  9. The Plamax Dragonar is huge! That's a MG Gundam next to it.
  10. Also, Chapter 2 is UP: Jungle Conspiracy With the infiltration in Voldor and some details about their feline phisiology. Hope you guys enyoy it https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ubS_ySYcrqW-RLZA2UUiiPghexhb6e5PuwHkpA-cbKY/edit?usp=sharing
  11. Enjoyed it! Didn't knock my socks off, but I was entertained pretty consistently.
  12. Yes, with the master files I've been experiencing a massive overhaul in OCR. However I find most models still have difficulties with verticaltext in japase, especially with images. I've been also translating some Kawamori interviews and sometimes it get's messed up. And regarding Windemere I agree, in their own manga motivations are way clearer. I supose like many thing with Delta there were a lot of ideas and chracters but not enoguh time or perhaps talent on the part of the several writers to get everything developped.
  13. Hmm, it looks… fine? With a couple trade-offs, if anything it’s a testament to how well Yamato did 14 years ago.
  14. I'd love all of them! So many good options. If they do a Melkia version, I hope they load it up with accessories to be more interesting.
  15. The Running Man gets a 7/10 which is somewhat on par with the 1987 film. I think I'll still wait till it comes to streaming though. https://www.ign.com/articles/the-running-man-review-glen-powell-edgar-wright
  16. Machine translation is a tool like any other. What you can make with it will reflect your experience and the patience and care you put into its application. I don't think it makes fan works less valuable in any way. Careless use of it can create some frustrating misunderstandings... but so can careless manual translation. The risk of errors is higher with the machine translation, but for a quick-and-dirty summary it's at least "good enough". One thing I really love is that it has driven a massive improvement in OCR capabilities. There was a time, long ago, that I was stuck manually transcribing every book I worked on one character at a time (often with a magnifying glass). Now I can just plonk the book I'm working on under my fancy laser book scanner and let the machine transcribe a whole page in just a few seconds that I can paste right into my working file and have the original text side-by-side with the translation with minimal effort. Perhaps the one thing that chapter does well that the series didn't (because the arc was jettisoned to a gaiden manga) is explain that Windermere IV's grievances with the New UN Government were legitimate. The TV anime and movies never really delves into why the Windermereans wanted out of the New UN Government as badly as they did, though even the novel here kind of glosses over that as frustrating as the Windermereans found the New UN Government's [restrictions on/control of] fold quartz extraction frustrating the restrictions were set for very good reasons like discouraging any more idiots from unsealing canned evil in Protoculture ruins and preventing the proliferation of a material that can be used to make planet-killing bombs.
  17. I’m not saying that anyone should stay away, just going by the usual Bandai track record. It’s very rare that they cover every character or even come close to completing a team of anything they’ve done. I’d love to hear that they are doing everyone like other X-Men characters or Strider or Mega Man or Iron Man, but it’s a long shot
  18. So on November 6, 2020 Bandai showed us the first prototypes of their Hi-Metal R V.O.T.O.M. line so just a couple of days over 5 years ago... Although it toke them some time to finally get the line going, the final product has turned out to be top notch! And having someone who is obviously a fan of the series in charge has really brought out some outstanding mechs so far! I think about a week after the FATTY is released next month, they will introduce us to either a ATM-09-ST Melkia or ATM-09-GC Brutishdog since the are polishing out the mould for the ATM-09-ST Scopedog releasing in February, and its cheaper for them too use the moulds for other units in this time as well... (It's just a guess) Also it quite nice to see that a lot of details that where initially shown on the three prototypes 5 years ago are still on the ATM units today. Like the four indentations on the foot locker the three indentations over the visor joints and the panel that is removed for the side armour-ments!The only down side of the series has been the price so far. but some deals can be had if you look around with the ATM-09-STTC going around 16,000円 at Mandarake. So lets see if the will actually do the Uhdoo arc as well someday soon! Well let's see how the next five years shape up! But looking good so far! πŸ‘πŸ»

  21. You guys are doing some amazing work out here. I’m in total awe. It’s hard to pinpoint one project over the other as they are all amazing. You dudes are killing it!!! Keep it up everyone. And here I am trudging away at my 1/55 VF-1.
  22. Hope any Veterans out there are enjoying their day. Earthion Deluxe Edition for Switch:
  23. I'm not sure about this. KaijuDaddy, on Youtube, has several inside sources and he says that the response to Cyclops alone was much bigger than they expected. So much so they put out that poll in October. And the response to that was so huge, especially from outside of Japan, they actually rearranged the order of releases and bumped up the schedule. Spider-Man was originally gping to be second half of 26. The current fourth scheduled figure was originally the third until the poll. In addition, they're looking at alternate colors. And it won't be under the Gamerverse moniker but they are now considering making the non-Marvel characters. Even if they're the less interesting figures, Kaiju recommend buying them to keep the sales up because Bandai is absolutely paying attention.
