    Mostly likely will pick this one up after release, depending on how reviews go. Bandai can justify all they want the reason for this 17 taking Ozempic treatment, but the fact is they have acknowledged how the 17 is supposed to look like in their older 1/65.

    The panel lines are definitely overemphasized on the 31A, which isn't helping its looks at all. I think all of Delta Scramble has this kind of exaggeration in the textures, maybe to help it look better on mobile screens. That said, the white nose cone also gives it a bit of a cartoonish vibe, so the overall effect is less "real". I get what you're saying on the wings, and it's one of the things that makes the AX unappealing to me in that they made the outer wings even bigger on that, which took it in the wrong direction (IMHO). I kind of want to try building a VF-24 as the profile for that is a bit more realistic, but I'm overall not crazy about delta wing craft in general and prefer the swing wing designs on principle. 😉 We'll see where my whims take me next, but hopefully won't be too long before the next updates. Thanks for the feedback and ideas!

    Graham my man!! Longtime no see. You look great. It’s rare now days. Getting a copy of the series is most affordable on the second hand market, as the company Gonzo and flying dog was dissolved into Bandai visual after going bankrupt a few years ago now. Are you asking because you are interested in seeing it for yourself? When the series first came out the novels hadn’t been translated yet so the series was all we had which was great. But it was when we could finally delve into the books that Kambayashi’s genius was revealed. To see the series you should watch the videos, then read both English novels, then watch the series again. But I warn you, just like the librarian in the never ending story. You’ll never be the same…..

    In the EU I have to pay DHL €7 for each package that I import (in addition to %20 import VAT) so my strategy is to use shopping sites that allow me to store a lot of stuff and then ship it out so I only have to pay the €7 once and not for every item.

    I haven’t really had any problems with them. I’ve built a few sets of the front missions kits and they seem to get better every set. This will be on a larger kit, so probably as far as this kit, the surfaces seem simpler and a lot of the parts are already remolded, even the face is prepainted. I’ll definitely put it ahead of my backlog though and let you know how it all goes.

    @nightmareB4macross Thanks. I Love how silly and “clunky” it looks. Hope to finish it up in the next couple days. @SteveTheFish Thanks. Also those builds look great! Thanks for sharing. I hope you give those crystal paints a go on the ship you mentioned. It takes on a very different look based on the value of the underpainting. It’s more vibrant on a darker value but also as interesting in a different way on lighter values. Here is the green crystal color over a white base paint on the armor and also on the green shield. In the right light it shimmers the green pearl effects. Oh I also used the red crystal color on the orange buster cannon. It’s really hard to photograph but fun stuff, 😊 @Big s Yeah I will painting the wings in the shimmering pearlescent blue too. I haven’t tried those crystal paints on clear parts yet so that will be fun to see how it turns out.

    In my headcanon, I will treat this as a very early development test version of the VF-171 that still used some VF-17 parts, before the VF-171 design had been completely finalised. And it had been assigned to Diamond Force for flight testing. 😅

    That looks nice! Thanks for sharing! I have some Mr. Color Crystal paints too, but I've yet to use them. I have a model from the Ikaruga shmup video game and while it is essentially white, my idea is to section parts of it off and do variations with those different pearlescent paints.     So I couldn’t afford the action figures anymore since they’re so expensive these days, but at $64, I think I can do this. Looks pretty fun to me and I think it’s about the same as the bring art’s height.definitely will get this Cloud model kit

    No PO madness for this one... still available on HLJ.. Am on board this as a stealth-ish looking vf-17-ish, since the old DX vf-171 CF which was a closer(?)-ish-ish stealth look had not the best reputations.... lots of '-ish's... likely a fighter mode on display but even then, for a stealthly colors look and definitely not on proportions... but the past few pages has been no less classic macrossworld dissections of the vf-17.... awesome! no doubt, i would wish for a new better represented proportion wise, DX VF-17, but who knows when that would be...
