They looked perfect during the first series, an ideal blend of robotic/mechanical while retaining the presence of some sort of lion. EXO Posted March 23, 2011 Share Posted March 23, 2011 Looks like the animated version won't be as detailed as the designs. You'd think that with CG animation you can keep all those details in. And from the storyboards it seems like the character's will have a slight Bruce Timm design look. Of course this is all spec. I'll hold judgment til we see final product. Really, no one's made that much of an improvement from the original 80's ones. I'm trying to think if Mattel has any experience with combining/transforming toys at all. I bought a volume for nostalgia and when I started watching it I face palmed myself so much I left marks.
