The animation style is whimsical, Americanized-anime, along the lines of Teen Titans. The setting is modern-day Earth, in a major city (possibly LA). The Thundercats are all teenagers. Their leader is Snarf who is now a mystic with a "third" eye. Each of the Thundercats has a weapon with an "Eye of Thunderra" and transformative powers (not just Lion-O). The new look I can live with, the all teenage angle is tolerable (a bit too TMNT for my taste, though), Snarf as the leader is just as ludicrous as having Orco be the King in He-Man, and the modern day setting could be either good or awfully lame; but a rock band, WTF??? These new cartoons wither thundercats or something else are made for today's kids in mind, not for their dads. Even if you were to watch some of the old cartoons you watched as a kid yourself now, you would realise how childish and stupid the stories and characters are. I think the new design is OK... better than the old one, but still needs a lil' work. I wasn't into this 'toon as a kid. Reminded me of He-Man which is really gay.
