  1. I think Pike's comments about his aptitude tests being off the charts and a genius level repeat offender pretty much explain why he does so well.
  2. I think the point is, no matter how you swing it, ifs that the timeline isn't supposed to be exact. Yeah, fate has a way of swinging everything back to where it should be, making things happen regardless of the space-time continuum, but really, making it get back to the prime-line is boring. Question though knight, what plothole are you referring to with Kirk's past before Starfleet?
  3. The ending of the movie was greatly cheapened by Kirk being brought back so soon. His death meant nothing at all. I enjoyed the hell out of the movie, but even more so than Khan's crew in the torpedoes(which I really didn't care about), this was what pissed me off most.
  4. Saw it a second time tonight with the gf who hadn't seen it. Anyone else notice the models in Marcus' office?
  5. They already stated that the $99 Xbox 360 subscription system was a test bed and it's done really well. While I think the $500 price tag is very close to what it will be at launch, they are likely going to be giving people an easier route. (Even if it is with a 2 year contract.) It's incredibly popular with people who don't want to drop $400 out the door for the system with HDD, one game and an extra controller. Last year when it launched I can't tell you how many I sold in the first month, let alone what my store has done total since launch. Depending on which bundle, it actually saved people money over 2 years. With XBL being a requirement for anything other than looking at the thing sit on a shelf, I see it being ever more popular if they give the option at launch. BC is irrelevant. This isn't the days of old where your N64 system was huge, used the same hook up as your Gamecube and your TV only had one composite connection. Current systems are still "current tech" with HD support, and HDMI/Optical connectivity. Using the old systems alongside the new might be tedious, but it's nowhere what is used to be. They also haven't said anything about digital content for the future or what it will entail for old games.
  6. Duke, I am fairly certain you and I would be the best of friends under "real life" circumstances. Lol
  7. I loved the movie. I never watched ToS and never liked it however I really enjoyed all the original movies.
  8. Thanks, David. Those were the only pictures I could elsewhere too. I don't want to get left in the dust if I don't preorder them, but I want to make sure they are worth it for the prices.
  9. Does anyone have any more info on the new Stunticons set? I see two of them up for preorder on BBTS but kind of reluctant to pull the trigger based off the very few photos I can find.
  10. I have a Samsung PN60E530 that is connected to both my Xbox and my computer. I've run into zero issues with it. I do not use game mode when playing anything and only had a "problem" with PC Battlefield 3 but I am pretty sure it wasn't a framerate issue more than it was a "HOLY CRAP THIS THING IS HUGE" issue. PC Black Ops 2 and Halo 4 play perfectly. As for burn in, as it's been said, it's nowhere near as bad as it used to be and you can change the tv over to "snow" for around an hour to get rid of it.
  11. Meaning Microsoft put the kibosh on that. Skylanders is a perfect example of selling your game anywhere and it doing insanely well. Granted it's toys and Pokemon level nerddom, but you get my point. That said, I think MSs big dreams of switching back and forth from Xbox to PC is a few years out as you still can't buy just ANY PC to play a lot of these games. Windows 8 across all platforms points that out now.
  12. In-Win Dragon Rider case and a left over 500W Rocketfish PSU. It works for now and it's modular too so it let me clean up the inside of the case a lot too. I get them for dirt cheap at work though so I think I'll be picking up an 750/850w Thermaltake soon enough. I've been doing a lot of reading on the cards and the 670 just calls out to me. This is the first time I have the money to buy the things I want in a new system so I'm just going to do it.
  13. I finally finished my new system. Intel i7 3770k CPU Intel Extreme DZ77GAL-70k board Dual Intel 520 series 120GB SSDs in RAID 0 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws X RAM Nvidia GTX 560ti graphics (card from old system, upgrading eventually) 1TB Seagate Barricuda for internal storage In-Win Dragon Rider full case I also tossed in a bluray drive for giggles since I needed a new SATA disc drive and it was cheap. I plan on running a 3 dispaly setup once I get a new video card. I'll be upgrading the PSU when I get the new card. Looking into the Evga FTW Edition GTX 670 with 4GB on board as it's only a $35 difference in most cases VS the 2GB version. I have to say that using a new board with visual BIOS is fantastic. It made setup incredibly easy. First power on to Windows being installed was roughly 15 minutes. There are a few better boards out there but for what I paid for the board and CPU combo, I can't complain or really have beaten it. With Christmas right around the corner, I am hoping to pick up Farcry 3, Black Ops 2 and Guild Wars 2 and finally be able to play them. Been limping along in BF3 for awhile now. Just thought I'd share. =)
  14. With those specs a new video card would fix all your problems with those games. Like mike was saying, the 660ti is on sale in a lot of different places and worth the extra coin. Adding another 295 would be like a bandaid on a GSW and 50-70% of your new card money.
  15. Still a better love story than Twilight.
  16. Didn't someone post a side by side of that Mechabatman next to the Iron Man armor it looks to be ripped from? I thought I saw it here but can't find it now.
  17. As long as the cleaner is ammonia free, it should be fine. Compressed air is perfect for the keyboard.
  18. The new Asus G55s are available now. 15.6" form factor. The new models were slimmed down quite a bit over last years. Running a 3rd gen i7 with a 660M. Just under $1400. I'd be very wary of IBuypower. My buddy, at my behest =(, ordered one of them through Best Buy. The first one came riddled with problems stemming from the video card and a bad OS install. Ultimately stopped booting up about 3 hours out of the box. Returned it, reordered. The second one is now having the same video card issues the first had. I'm going to take it into work tomorrow and see if we can't swap out the video card and solve the problem but so far I'm not impressed with what that company (ibuy) has to offer. I read a bunch of reviews on Newegg about them and cyberpower pc awhile back and a lot of times people were getting DOA systems due to the shoddy and hasty way they were built.
