  1. To be Q without the continuum. YF-19.

  3. ^ all this: lol I enjoyed it and will gladly see it again. ATMOS went live in our theater for this and made it even better. After however many years and iterations of these movies, I still don't understand what it is you guys are expecting from all of it. Like suddenly he's going to say "MACROSS WORLD SAYS I GOT IT WRONG. HURRY UP GUYS, FIX IT. ALSO, CALL ALL MY DIRECTOR FRIENDS WHO GET ALL THESE OTHER MOVIES WRONG TOO!" Eh, guess I'll never understand. ^^
  4. You already restored but you could have done them in blocks and narrowed out which one was causing the issue and then done it manually from Microsoft's website. There's no reason you shouldn't be installing all updates when available unless you run into issues again. A few of the newer updates can cause issues with installing, but it's not system breaking. As for W8.1, I seriously don't see the issue anymore. Early on with 8 I could understand why, but with 8.1s options, there are few reasons not to upgrade and most of those are legacy programs or programs people are too cheap to rebuy current versions of. While I use Stardock's Start 8 to eliminate most of the features of 8.1 on my own PC, I deal with stock 8.1 on a daily basis. I can tell you from experience that more and more of the W8.1 hate is coming from people being unable to use Office 2003, and a lot of older XP programs. Windows 8 hating was due to the learning curve and the touch interface being the primary way to use it unless you wanted it to be cumbersome. That's all changed.
  5. Assuming, without reading any of that, that that's supposed to be Darth Plagueis. He was in fact one of those "lame Banking Clan guys."
  6. I enjoyed the hell out of this movie. Not even going to bother with that review if you guys are saying it's THAT bad.
  7. Yeah. My next build after the upgrade for this one will be something small and portable. I currently drab around my full size tower and it's not a good thing or handy. I've seen a few micro ATX builds that are fantastic and powerful while remaining cheap.
  8. Honestly then maybe look for a nice case built for cramming things into. A lot of the newer ones are really nice in the way of how they are set up to accommodate components while running on air. Most of the time the only issues I hear about in small builds like that are GPU heating issues because the card can't breathe very well. The Corsair H50/80 are pretty decent coolers in the bang for buck regard. They are decently quiet too.
  9. Mog, you nailed everything we were talking about after walking out last night. The after credits scene was worth the wait, especially if you know what it means. Fantastic movie overall. Very well done. Can't wait for AoP.
  10. azrael: I think you might be able replace "missing" liquid in the Corsairs. I'd have to look into it, but could be more of a pain in the ass than it's worth. Archer: If you are primarily going to be playing games, you could get a K series i5 and a good GPU, you'll save some money and won't look back. If you want a more robust multitasking, editing, do anything under the sun machine with some gaming tossed in, go with a K series i7. You're looking at a $90 difference in chips and that's it. Make sure you get a good motherboard and you're golden. The 5th generation Core series is just around the corner, if you can wait a bit, the previous generation usually drops a little in price when the new one comes out. But even if you don't wait, the 4th gen processors are amazing. I have an i7 4770k that's been sitting in a drawer waiting patiently for me to buy the Asus Maximus VI Formula. Sooon.......
  11. Haven't used AIOs or LC personally yet, but from my research for my next desktop sidestep, there are really only a few things you need to worry about, and they are things that could be causing the worries from pump and fan noise. You need to keep the water clean or it'll eat up a pump from the inside out. Distilled water with some silver in it fixes this. Lasts far longer than just water inbetween refilling and the silver acts as a biocide. As for a fan or fans, stock is alright at best(assuming we're talking about some cheap Corsair kit or something similar), but you want something with a high static pressure and high cfm. They can get noisy, but good fans will provide both of these without being too much louder or more expensive than a stock fan. With a stock fan, "alright" is the key term. They are generally crap regardless of placement or use. 120MM fans are usually the best for this and there is a very large selection of them. Leaks are still something that could be an issue, but most systems are pretty solid in that regard nowadays. If done patiently and properly, I doubt there'd be any issue with most AIO systems. Using a small AIO system for a build like that is pretty ideal to be honest. Depending on the radiator/kit you go with, you could always upgrade other parts as well. The real money sink is LC capable parts for other components. Liquid cooling may not be overwhelmingly better than fans in a lot of scenarios, but I also look at the heat everything outputs overall. A large system like mine pumps out a LOT of hot air under load. With it in a smaller room like mine, it heats up in here pretty quickly. A LC system will all but negate this even under the heaviest of loads. Now if I could just LC my TV.....
  12. Keith is right. Watch the Tartakovsky series until episode 21, then watch all of TCW then continue at episode 22. Apparently you can even go down to the minute mark on where you'rs supposed to stop. /nerrrrrds I do feel very strongly that watching TCW in chronological order is important. A lot of people say it's not big deal but it messes with the overall feel of the story if you just power through it on netflix. Especially in S2-early 3 and the first episode of 5 if watched too early. My thoughts after finishing it are that with knowing how E3 played out, the S6 Yoda arc didn't fit at all. It makes Yoda look senile and stupid. Everything he saw and experienced through the force, then along comes E3 and he's just as stumped as everyone else about what the hell is going on. It doesn't go well together in that aspect. Adding to what's been said: Anakin: Still fully believable that he falls easily. Why? He's selfish, proud, egotistical and quick to anger. Palpatine plays off all of those things and he sees his one reason for living die in a vision. Nothing else matters. I could go into EU explanations that make his fall in E3 much more believable but none of that matters anymore. Ashoka: I think her ending might have been a "tv getting too far ahead of itself" kind fo thing to be honest. I'd have to look into it, but I bet they had grand plans for something later in the series and that "later" never came. S6 is a clear indicator of that. Rex: Left hanging. Wookieepedia basically just has him not part of the 501st anymore. GG WP KTHXBAI. I don't know why, though I haven't really looked into it either. The clones turning on the Jedi is explained as clear as day. While I don't necessarily like it, it makes a hell of a lot more sense than "they were just following orders." More like "you will do this because you literally have no other choice in the matter since before you were born." Episode order guide spoiler'd for size:
  13. VF, do you have UEFI or legacy boot enabled? UEFI, depending on the motherboard/BIOS likes to try to boot from everything but the drive you specify. Seems this could be the case since you had no issues in the beginning. I mean, it could be the hardware on the motherboard, but issues with drives that large usually lead to the UEFI being the culprit.
  14. Anyone in the market for an Ultrabook? I have a NIB(read unopened) Dell XPS12 flip that I am really considering letting go off because I have zero use for it. I know a lot of you are into gaming rigs, hence why I don't need it, but I figured I'd ask here before CL or Evilbay. It's the same stats, if not the same model, as this one. If anything I'll drop it over in the FS section, just asking if anyone was really interested. Sorry. Back on topic, about to buy my new mobo; Asus Maximus VI Formula and go all liquid cooling on my system. Easier said than done though because hopping into LC has made me want to change my case and add a plate to my 780. Being a fan of ASUS and all the custom rigs they post about on FB, it makes it harder and harder to just go with something simple. Anyone else run liquid on both mobo and GPU?? What kits do you have? Make sure you are careful when looking at the G750 at a brick and mortar, especially at places like Best Buy. A lot of places are trying to unload last seasons model, and there isn't much in the way of labeling in most stores who carry it. Makes it very easy to get confused and end up paying the same price for the old one.
  15. There are a bunch of pictures of the characters over on Comingsoon.net that just went up. Possible spoilers I think. http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=117066#/slide/1
  16. Mine was 30,578 total shipped. I'm happy with that.
  17. They're planning for once a year, right? Makes it a little more manageable.
  18. With $1,500 you could buy a "low end" Asus RoG G750, a decent sized SSD to throw in it and still have a nice dinner. Then just go to http://www.stardock.com/products/start8/ and "fix" Windows 8. Pretty much the best $5 I've ever spent. =) EDIT: I see you were already looking at the 750. You can't go wrong with it.
  19. I think the important part looked over here is where the tech comes from. Current technology and fuel sources? There's a reason we don't have anything remotely practical for a giant robot, let alone a transforming fighter. Drop in a spaceship full of tech to reverse engineer, a possible threat of 50 foot tall aliens and most of that goes out the window. The logistics of such a thing would, hopefully, go out the window too. That said, I think the right type of dog could be trained to do anything.
