  1. A small bump. We found a new feeding chair for my disabled son Owen, but we are planning to use the funds generated by the book to pay for it. To that end I need to generate at least 100 sales by the end of July. I should get my first sales report/royalties check in august. So, for anyone who has read the book, thank you, and please leave a review here or at the e-retailer you purchased the book at, reviews help to generate sales for first books. Also, if you liked the book, please recommend it to others, and if you haven't picked up a copy, head on over, as every dime I make on this goes to help buy equipment and therapies for a very special, disabled boy.
  2. I can't get over the pigsty that is the room he recorded the room in, holy shreg, the storage room we are cleaning out at my grandmother's house doesn't look that bad.
  3. I was not bashing, just curious. Now that I look up that T-Former I see that it is a massive kibble hanger, too bad, if the bottom looked more like the top, in terms of design, it could make good fodder for a custom valk of some kind.
  4. love firefly, not enough to play an MMO though
  5. interesting, and I like that they are bringing back the exploration aspect
  6. I don't dislike those movies because of Cinemasins, I dislike them because they are quite poorly done. Like MMX said, the thing and torch were ok, but the rest was just, meh to oh my god terrible.
  7. There is a clear dividing line leading though wing root through the engine intakes, but not one through the leading edge, as The Old Man has indicated. But there is a line down the wing along the top, so his estimate there looks correct. So the question becomes, does the fuselage somehow open to allow the proper seperation, or is there some magic tiny pivot point right at the fuselage? I kind of hope that the fuselage opens somehow becuase otherwise those engines would rip free. Also, IIRC part of the justification for the openning S-Foils (Aside from looking cool) on the original X-Wing was heat dispersion, not just openning up to increase the weapons spread, a bad idea really, unless the shots can be angled off axis. Of course having the wings split the way that The Old Man indicates makes those landing gear even more ridiculous. This is what happens when your designers stop working with real props and do everything on computer, they don't seem realize how to make things fit together properly.
  8. The worn paint is not the issue, the fact that it is actively flaking and curling is. Aircraft paint doesn't do that, and when it wears to flakes off, doesn't curl, etc...
  9. That looks horrible, let's hope it is not that
  10. Is it just me or does that new "X-Wing" look like ass? I mean flaking paint? I saw peeling paint on it, that crap would come right off the first time it tried to fly. Then the pilot climbs up into the cockpit by stepping into the torpedo tube. Seriously? And a handhold that is permanently open? At least it looks like the pilot might have slightly better forward visibility, but the rest, sorry. As unrealistic as the original X-Wing was, at least the design made sense and had some utility. This thing just looks like a bad fan model. I would give them props for using a full size prop, except that it still looks like crap, and there is no way that those long freaking landing legs would ever fit into the bays they show on it. Plus what is with all the loose wires on the landing gear?
  11. Well if you must crib your plot from something, at least do so from something good. OF course how many people have read, or seen, the Forbin Project?
  12. very cool, but until I see it moving under its own power I am not convinced that it isn't just a full scale mockup
  13. Ok KB, spoiler tag it and tell us about the flick.
  14. Hmm, looks interesting, somewhat akira-esque, might be worth checking out. Of course if it is any good it might mean that a real, and good Akira live action could be made.
  15. Honestly I find the Lynch version unwatchable for the most part and much prefer the syfy miniseries, despite the low budget, it was far more true to the book, deveating mostly to give Irulan more screen time.
  16. I love how the 1970 configuration looks like how an F-16 and F-35 had a baby.
  17. I wonder how they will compare with the finemolds kits.
  18. Here are a few more I just animated: GF TigerCat Light Fighter, this one needs its textures redone, they were corrupted during the computer move. [VIDEO] GF Solaar Mk1 Anti-Bomber Interceptor. These relatively cheap craft are sent out in large numbers to intercept incoming bombers and torpedoes. [VIDEO] UCSB Splicer 2000 Cutter High Speed Fighter Interceptor. [VIDEO] UCSB Splicer 3000 Marker Strike Bomber, standard configuration. [VIDEO] UCSB Splicer 3000 Marker Strike Bomber, support gunship configuration. [VIDEO]
  19. Here are a couple more to enjoy: The Feral-F Heavy Bomber The Splicer 5000 Firehawk Space Superiority Fighter (sorry about the background is so dark, will redo later) And of course an enemy fighter, the GF Corvus Space Superiority Fighter
