Ok just reread Tekkamans comments, misread it this morning, oops. There are a number of things that will be added to the design. First and foremost the weapons packs. I am planning to do those in a light shade of grey, except for the guns, which I will redesign and darken considerably. I will also be adding visible thrusters to the wings, but these will be modeled on. I am debating whether or not they should have a Macross nod and be the circle-bar verniers. Any comments on the overall textures though, I tried to keep them from being too busy, I see a lot of sci-fi fighter textures that are just way too busy and plan to avoid that. As you can tell I've done a lot of maintenance work on fighter, planes and ships, which explains all the access panels, these bird is very maintenance friendly. I should have the weapons packs finished this weekend or next week provided nothing major comes up. Not bad I think overall. Learning how to use layers properly helped a great deal in making these textures.

Details, like what? This is a fighter it shouldn't be too busy. I may make it a little dirtier.

In this pic you can clearly see the problems AUTOCAD is having with the textures, mostly around the edges of the saucer and the bottom of the cockpit. A reshape of the wing might fix that, but damn that would be a pain to fix. Hopefully the next version of ACAD will correct that problem, otherwise I may have to finally migrate over to 3DS.

Next the new verion, no weapons right now since I have yet to start the retexture on those. Also no squadron markings as yet, but they are on the way. Comments welcome and appreciated.

I have been working on retexturing my craft lately and decided it was about time to do some of my enemy fighters, give them a unique and believable texture. Up until now this particular fighter has been using a texture I found on the net years ago. It was fine for a long time, but looking around I finally stopped lying to myself that it is a terrible texture for a fighter, way too complex. I would appreciate any constructive comments about the texture job. Right now I am having just a little trouble with the cockpit side textures, working on how to fix that, may have to scrap those textures and redo them, its all due to the shape of the cockpit and the software. Yes I am still doing this in AUTOCAD, amazed the heck out of Super-O when he saw the work in progress yesterday. Well let me know what you think. The first pic is of the old version,

I would definitely be interested as long as it doesn't cost too much for 1:6 Focker in flight gear, put him right next to my 1:6 Wedge.
-
Big, let's put it that way, about the same size as a 1:10 scale hornet. But making gerwalk will had a heck of a lot of weight and will make the plane damn hard to fly. We've had this discussion before off the boards if you remember.

Twinmoons did you push in the new backpack lock on the VE and VT-1s? Shawn was displaying these yesterday at the MW Con-3 and showed us the lock, basically you just push down on the back pack and it locks in place. The radar on his seemed to go up higher as well, probably due to the lock. It will also keep the backpacks up right.

Check Out Whos' Gonna Be In Transformers...

Nice looking mech, might even have a realistic transformation, guess they are taking cue from Macross how to, finally, though Devilsdue didn't if you see their starscream that transforms into a night raven, the arms are in the engine nacelles, ugh. -
Probably just an Engrish error, but I love that new shot, looks like it might have mini missiles on the shoulders, RAM launchers, woohoo, the thing is the ultimate walking CIWS, I love it. Everyone welcome the CIWS Destroid. Or maybe they are just chaff and flare dispensers, but hey a RAM ISEA can dream can't he, I'd love to see my launcher or something resembling my launhcer in Macross-0. And hey justy noticed this the update was yesterday, what a great Birthday present, thanks Shoji, does that mean I can expect the lego valks in the mail soon, hehe.

Super-Scale Robotech VF-1 Veritech statue

If I had the money to waste on one of those I would get a couple sets of the Yamato pilot helmet/torso harness, and modify at least one of them into something I could use while actually flying, with communications gear and circulation hardware. Man that would be bad ass to climb out of an aerobat wearing that. Ok, scratch that, one set and then use the rest to get an accurate pilot suit made to go with it, now that would be bad ass to climb out an aerobatic plane in. Maybe a custom painted Berkut or Long-EZ painted to look like Hikaru's fan racer. -
Nice, but those motors are way too big, give me muscle fibers any day, and yes they are a real technology.

Very nice 114, maybe it's just the lighting but a few parts look a little out of proportion and the chest looks a little too flat. Maybe it's just me or the lighting, but great work, nice textures.

Question, what is the difference between the series and movie FAST Packs?
-
I see the YF-19 now, where were these pics taken, it's possible that is might just be the hasagawa booth and they are next to the Yamato booth, though doubtful. If it is the new Yamato YF-19 and this was a public forum then, hey Graham the monkeys out of the box spill, spill, spill.

It does look better with the torso piece, but still not work $1300.00. However, a full uniform, and I do mean full, custom fitted might be worth $1300.00, though I would still be hard pressed to put out that kind of money. I mean when would you ever wear it, unless you were making a movie.

Great work man, any plans to do similer with an N-Ger?
-
Actually it really doesn't look that much more advanced then the old destroid when you think about it. Look at the weapons and sensor systems for proof of that. THe sensors on the old destroids were relatively small yet still powerful, this thing has a CIWS radar on it. The guns are just simple chain guns, not the rapid fire heavy cannons of later destroids. The wheels on the legs are strictly for speed, meaning that it can't run very fast, and while it may be able to hop, how much of a tech improvement is that?
-
I'd call it the Phalanx, except there already is one, but looking at it I can't help but think that from looking at its configuration, so instead I will call it the CIWS destroid. I say that because well, look at it, it's got a CIWS search/track radar on its right shoulder and what appears to be a vulcan on each arm, ok a much larger caliber, so maybe more like a GAU-8A on each arm or even bigger, that would be insane though. That beast is a rolling air defense destroid, I like it, now it just needs an ESSM or RAM launcher on its back as well and it would be perfect, hehe.

If anybody has a minmei (fig and/or doll) and/or a hikaru they wouldn't mind parting with give me a PM.

1:72 = 3 1:60 = 8 (Maybe 10 soon, have to wait for our guys to get back from Japan) 1:48 = 3 (Maybe 4 soon, have to wait for our guys to get back from Japan)

Obviously Max realized there was a high chance of engaging in hand to hand combat and had his gunpod mounted backwars before launch. I'm sure someone probably pointed this out to him to which he likely replied, "hey, we have the RoV-20 laser in the head for a reason, it can be used in fighter mode." It's likely that when Max returned to fighter mode that automatic protcols forced him to remount the gun as normal, but it gave him a good first hand to hand surprise, lets face it who would expect that attack he pulled off?

I am the once, future and forever Knight 26, none shall ever change that.

Sweet, be sure and show us the completed model, and when the yammie Q-Rau comes out we'll have to compare them.

I would so buy a 1:48 VF-1D, I am a major proponent of two seat fighters. My Grandpa used to have a rule concerning the size of the flight crew on planes: the number of flight crew should be greater than or equal to the number of engines. This is due to the complexity of systems of aboard multi-engined birds, plus imagine how it would be to ahve a two seat valk with a pilot in the front and a Marine WSO in the back. The Marine WSO would be hooked up to a VR system and would control the battroid mode, making it much easier to cross train crews and possibly increasing the survival rate.
