True but Kawamori designed those terrible tail fins on the YF-30 in Battroid-Mode so you never know.

I hope the gray color of the toy will hide the fact that the GERWALK-joint needs to be extended one click to accept the missile pods on the legs and allow the turret gun to sit flush. It seems like a major design oversight that the knee caps aren't designed in a way to hide this better. It would be much nicer if you couldn't see metallic-gray plastic behind the knee caps on the lower thighs that is so conspicuous on the white/tan planes we've gotten out of this design. I've never seen line-art of the Durandal where you can see this in Fighter-Mode so I can't tell if this is intentional or Bandai just being lazy using parts from the Messiah.
-
If I remember correctly you have to click the GERWALK-joint out one click and than click the lower legs one click upwards so everything is level again. It is basically the same as for the VF-1 Super/Strike-Parts.

I figured that my main problem with MP-22 is the face. I'll wait for final judgment until I see some colored pictures. Someone over at TFW said that on the high-res images you can see lines on his face that match pretty well with the shades that Magnus suppose to have. So will see.- 17851 replies

Have we seen any pictures of the box yet? I hope the box will look like the other Renewal boxes (this and the box of the YF-30). The YF-29 30th Anniversary box stands out like a sore thumb. Isamus YF-29 had the same box style as the Renewals right?

Oh well, time to wait for the release date.

Ok after the description of the crooked head PsYcHoDyNaMiX gave I still have problems imagining what the problem is. I guess no amount of words will change this so can someone share some pictures of the issue that I can look at my toy and start hating it. At the moment I think the problem is that the outer diameter of the two halves of the head turret has a different size so the neck cover won't sit flush on the toy. Is that what the issue is?

Again in the middle of the night for me.*yawn* I never be able to get one this way. Please NY have some mercy for people not living in the States and Japan.

Managed to get an old SNES cartridge of Terranigma this weekend at a local flea market. After the last boss in Secret of Evermore humiliated me I will give the game a try after I finished SoE, Sadly I only got the bare bone cartridge an no box. The guy was trying to sell a MISB Ocarina of Time and Majoras Mask for the N64 to a guy and almost inlcuded this gem into the offer but I managed to be faster and got this one for a good price. Can't wait to play it.

I totally missed NY while refreshing the site at work. After a break it was already sold out. Without MW telling me when the order is up I don't have a chance to get the first round of orders ever.

What a coincident. I started read an old copy of Heir to the Empire (the book is from 1992) and now this news about the EU. Well I better finish the book before Episode 7 comes out.

Oh well I should have played Armored Core ab bit but all I did was pop part two in my PS2 and was terribly bored by it. Maybe I should give it one more try.

Well the VF-27 can split his beam gun-pod to allow the front landing gear to swing out which is line-art accurate if my mind serves me correctly. If you look at this picture There are two slots in the missile bay. I assume that you can attach the gun-pod handle into these slots. Maybe on the image in your post it is attached to the forward slot.
-
I assume that the standard weapon bay resembles the missile rack of the Reguld Light Missile Carrier: Maybe a second weapon bay resembles the Heavy Missile Carrier: So maybe the Chronos is a hybrid of a Valkyrie and a Reguld much like the YF-21/VF-22 is a hybrid of a Valkyrie and a Queadluun-Rau. So there is already one idea for Bandai to design an additional weapon upgrade set. Images courtesy of the Macross Mecha Manual (http://www.macross2.net/m3/m3.html)

If this is true than we only have to wait for eight more years. Not bad.

The stuff with the triangles really puzzles me. It is a non issue on Altos VF-171EX so it seems. So what went wrong with the cannon fodder? Oh and I transform mine never with the shoulder pauldrons on.

Yeah your right but compared to the triangles they are pretty minor.... ....and I forgot about them.

Now that we have clearer pics I start wondering what is wrong with the head. In my mind UM looks like this I usually give Takara a lot of credit when it comes to their face sculpts but if it stays that way they didn't got right on MP-22. Some guys over at TFW2005 did some digibashes and colored him up. The storso is still wrong in my opinion but I think the shoulder stacks look good now.- 17851 replies

What happened with the end of month release schedule? I assume NY will send out their invoices soon.

The only part of the VF-171CF that was prone of breaking where the small black triangles in the shoulder assembly. They where the same as on the VF-171EX so Bandai maybe gotten a bad batch of plastic for those. Other than that I don't remember that it had other issues like loose joints. I think someone commented on the VF-171 that the joints where frighteningly stiff and I can second that because the hips on mine are very stiff. Maybe the paint rubbing but that is present on all Bandai Frontier Valkyries. However it is nearly as bad as on the V1 Messiahs and mostly due to bad design desiccations like painting the top of the nosecone of the Valkyrie instead of casting it in the right color. But I haven't heard reports that someone damaged the paint on the nosecone of their Super VF-27 which is a good sign. Oh and there where micro scratches on the wings but they where so small most people don't recognized them. The most obvious issue with the line where loose joints but my VF-25A has nothing of that which is weird because of mold degradation it should become looser with further usage of the mold. It might help that the VF-25A doesn't have tons of armor for dress-up and huge accessories. On the other hand the hips on my VF-25G where loose when I transformed it the first time so maybe Bandai really tightened up the tolerances. The VF-25 has problems with upwards bend wings in some cases which might come from the way they are packaged. To sum the major QC issues it up: All Bandai Frontier Valkyries have issues with paint rubbing The VF-171CF (and only the CF) has black triangles in the shoulders that explode The YF-24 family has problems with loose joints Let's see what problems the YF-30 has. It seems like the free floating hips in Gerwalk-Mode are a feature not an overlook but that could lead to many YF-30s that can't stand up on their own. Good that Bandai always includes a stand with their releases.
