  1. I love the dark blue canopy!
  2. I love my RD Unicorn/Banshee/Sinanju. It's just hard for me not to compare the RD Nu Gundam to my MG. The different shades of gray and dark blue plastic is gorgeous as is the turquoise frame parts. RD is a great as desk candy but I've been spoiled.
  3. derex3592 on the boards did an Oberth kit recently. Maybe you could ask him about and top down picture and create some drawing by yourself (or you know someone that is good with drawing). Here is the best picture I've found: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?app=core&module=attach&section=attach&attach_rel_module=post&attach_id=108144 Check out his other images: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=35120&page=59#entry1082583 Hope that helps
  4. Just saw the images of Nendoroid Link from Windwaker over at CollectionDX (http://collectiondx.com/news_item/41014/nendoroid_link_legend_zelda_wind_waker) and I have to have one. Release date is August 2014 so I have to ask when do preorders start and how fast do they sell out for other Nendoroid? Please don't tell me I missed it already. (I would prefer hlj because they will send out my MP Wheeljack in August ).
  5. It is normal that the high speed mode wing hinges droop out of the wing root in Battroid-Mode? That looks really ugly.
  6. I guess I'm spoiled by the Nu Gundam Ver. Ka I build this winter. It just looks less bland than the RD one.
  7. I think Gerwalk-Mode looks great but takes up a lot of space. I usually have one Valkyrie that I took out of my cabinet to be shown prominently on my desk. This one I have often in Gerwalk-Mode and the semi Gerwalk-Mode where the arms are not deployed. It looks almost as it could be a real thing. The F-35B with STOVL opens panels, rotates parts for this. So why not have a aircraft with two engines that has VTOL capabilities by rotating the turbines. However I dislike the Gerwalk-Mode of Yamatos VF-19 because they can't get their lower legs under the center of the plane. This looks extremely unpleasing to me. I think for a Valkyrie to look good in the in-between-mode it has to get this right, the Excalibur doesn't. I'm always confused about the VF-17 special Gerwalk configurations. In line art it looks like lower legs don't rotate under the center of mass rather sit behind it. Is this correct? (courtesy of the Macross Mecha Manual: http://www.macross2.net/m3/m3-index.htm) I tried to pose my Yamato VF-17S in that way but I failed every time. I guess it is impossible until they make your toy Valkyries out of Overtechnology.
  8. So I saw the review for Citizen Stack and I have to say that I really like the idea because I always thought of Ultra Magnus as his own entity and not Optimus Prime with armor. And I dig the chrome. However I don't like the hollowness of the toy and the lightweight feel of the whole toy like the lower legs or the cabin/torso. It feels more like a cheap toy. Much like Generations Metroplex. Of course it is hard to tell this through watching a video but that is the feeling I got from it. Lets see what Takara has to offer. I have a question for all the hardcore Ultra Magnus fans out there. To me the stacks at the shoulders at most toys of Magnus are too thin and too long. It is true to the G1 toy but I always preferred the proportions of my FP Shadowcommander. From memory they where less tall in the 1986 movie but I could be wrong
  9. It has rear landing gear bay doors.
  10. So if this takes a few month before they are available I might be interested in the stands. Keep us updated please.
  11. The fighter competition is on the New Edwards Air Base which is on the Planet Eden. So to get quick to earth the YF-19 had to use the fold booster. Hm so Yang Neumann is only 16 years old? How odd. Some of the issues come from the fact that in order to save cost Arcadia decided to base the YF-19 heavily on the VF-19. At least that is my opinion. That the gun-pod sits so low, doesn't have to proper cooling vents and that the canards fold in the way they do stems from the way they are on the Excalibur. I think this is probably also true for the tail fins. On the previous iteration of the YF-19 they slid upwards to create room for the heals in Gerwalk-Mode. Since there is no sliding mechanism for the tail fins on the VF-19 they opted for folding the tail fins in. Please keep in mind that this is all speculation on my part because I don't have the Yamato YF-19 and the new one (yet). These are all observations I gathered from my VF-19S.
  12. No it doesn't. I think they didn't include the feature because it would be to difficult to make it work because the YF-19 has a hinge for the front canopy section where the egress hatch would be on the M7 VF-19 Valkyries. Plus (pun intended) the egress hatch was never featured in the animation of Macross Plus but was a prominent feature of the Fire Valkyrie in M7. [edit:] And since the YF-19 is a two seater Valkyrie it would be extra difficult to implement that feature for both seats. On the VF-19 the cockpit won't close when the seat is rotated and the seat is rotated though a gap in the bottom of the cockpit. This was probably not possible on the YF-19.
  13. The way I understand it is that the landing gear bay doors of the YF-30 have two panels to close the bay: one in the front and one in the back. I assume he wants to express that the front bay door seems to open perpendicular to the roll-axis of the plane much like the landing gear panels of the VF-1 (front and back) and the first panel of the front landing gear bay of the VF-17/VF-19/VF-22 (basically all bays that are concealed by three panels) He seems to indicate that on the VF-0 (which has also two panels for the back landing gear bays) both bay doors open alongside the roll axis of the plane. So that's what I got from it. However I have no idea how the bay doors of the VF-0 work.
  14. Maybe you haven't collapsed the torso properly. I assume that you have to "break" the neck of the plane to shorten the torso in Battroid-Mode much like the Yamato VF-19. If there is something blocking it it would explain why your torso is longer than it is supposed to be. I would check if the shortened neck of the plane is in its far back position or if the metal hinge where the spine of the Battroid is attached to is pushing the collapsed neck upwards. It is hard to describe without pictures but I had this problem on my VF-19S where something similar happened. It would also explain why the belly plate is not touching the abdomen. Hope that helps.
  15. Wait I though Mylene was the main hero of Macross 7.
  16. If they planning to improve the VF-19 mold it would be cool if they reissue VF-19S with Fast Packs. I would definitely buying this especially if it is cast in a matte color.
  17. In the image skullmilita posted is the wing drooping by itself out of the wing glove or is it not aligned perfectly to begin with. The left wing of the YF-19 that is.
  18. It has a beautiful underside for sure. All that it needs is a sliding panel on the backpack do hide the hands.
  19. I don't have a VF-19 Kai so this is a maybe. If it has the new intake/hip design as the new YF-19 and comes with a matte finish I will probably bite the bullet. I'm a bit disappointed because there are other Valkyries that I would prefer. DYRL VF-1S Max and VF-1A Kakizaki in Arcadia white, a VF-11C, a VF-4, Mirias VF-1J from M7. Oh well maybe in the future but I don't have enough money to buy everything Arcadia releases that I'm not really to keen on to keep the company afloat until they release something I like. The VF-0D is already a pass for me and the VF-19K probably too. [edit:] Just saw on the main page of MW that the Kai will be released this fall so I doubt they will redo anything compared to the Yamato release.
  20. What is up with this talk about the back of the head turret? I don't get it. Maybe the missile pod is detachable to allow for different armaments. So you could detach the pod and just have the arm sticking out of the back. We probably have to wait for the first in hand reports to determine if this is possible.
  21. Yes but shouldn't the VF-0 angles be restricted in their movement by the side covers of the lower legs. Much like the VF-1 you won't get much movement out of them. The only workaround seems to be a movable flap on the end of the leg like the Bandai 1/72 VF-1 kit has. Perhaps I'm totally wrong since I never owned a VF-0 so I could get the wrong impression looking at the images over at M3.
  22. Is there any reason why the feet will differ from the VF-1 approach. The VF-0 has similar feet that are different than the one from the YF-19. Why shouldn't Arcadia use ratchet joints? Also the legs don't have a missile compartment like the Excalibur has. Maybe I'm wrong but this makes more sense to me than to use these awful ball-joints.
  23. A quick question for the people who have the bird in hands. Is the color mismatch between the painted die cast parts and the plastic as noticeable in person as it is on the images shown in this thread? I have a bad feeling every time I see such images since the V1 RVF-25 who has those terrible different shades of green.
  24. I guess you're right. I did forget about third party Bumblebee. I think this one came to mind because I haven't seen images of MP Bee before the third party one but on this case the cap looks so much like MP-10 even if it does not transform so it has no Takara engineering in it.
