  1. The most recent one from Takara with the Flaming Sword accessory. Here you have an picture of the issue I have with it on Grimlocks left shoulder: On mine it is a little bit more pronounced than that.
  2. Are we talking about the bare Valkyries here? Because I think that the Armored VF-25S is the best looking one. For bare Messiahs I'd go for the VF-25G. It has Max' colors a sniper rifle and a Shockwave head. Can't go wrong with this one. I also love the hue of the blue color.
  3. So I opened my MP-08 Grimlock reissue (playing catching up with the MP line) and the metal plate the left shoulder is mounted onto doesn't want to stay inside the chest very well. On the right side of the toy it sits perfectly flush. Haven't had the time to transform him though so that might change. I noticed that issue on a few pictures of the toy. Does anyone that has experience with the mold knows if this is a worrisome issue (I heard of shoulder breakage) or if I can do anything about that? Thanks. [edit:] I like the EVA-01 Convoy but I think some of the color choices don't work quite right with the mold of the toy and the EVA-theme. For instance the mouth plate would looked much nicer if it where not this metallic color. The same goes for the smoke stacks. Also the black on the forearms is a bit of a stark contrast to the rest of the toy because the arms are this box shape.
  4. I think the Voyager Grimlock is a good toy that weapon sucks. I mean why can't he have a sword? A sword would be a much nicer tail than this club that is total garbage. I love the knight theme and the bright colors of the Dinobots. They almost convinced me to buy toys from the new movie.
  5. *bump* Transformation for the YF-29 Osma Custom by Veef of CollectionDX: http://collectiondx.com/toy_review/2014/yf29_durandal_valkyrie_ozma_lee_custom
  6. Be careful when transforming the hips. The little canards on the forward fuselage might get in the way when handling the legs and thighs. Lift the gun turret from the backpack before transforming it. You can't fold the wings upwards with the recessed turret. The wings on the backpack rotate not nearly as much as you might think. Don't apply much force when hinging them upwards and stop when hitting a point of resistance. However on my YF-29 Ozma Custom the wing hinges are very stiff. If they are the same on your Isamu one try to be carefull The head turret is a bitch to transform. If you never handled this design before it can be quite frustrating. The base plate slides back and is on a hinge in the front that you can push out from the inside of the chest area. The head extends also in the neck. You might pop it off but it's on a ball-joint so you can pop it right back on. This can also be troublesome because the joint in the head won't stay in its position. The front landing gear doors should rest between the folded in nosecone and the small fins on the forward fuselage. The Gerwalk-joint has to be extended one click when transforming it back to Fighter-Mode for the legs to sit flush Watch Jenius video for transforming the shoulders/arms back into fighter mode to see how you have to rotate it Watch out for the small spikes on the top of the lower legs. For Gerwalk-Mode you need to extend the legs before rotating them outwards for the A-stance otherwise you will cause a stress mark on the fin because the thigh will deform it. Watch all the video reviews you can get. It takes away some magic but they are very helpful. Veef mentioned in his YF-29 Ozma review many of the issues I listed (http://collectiondx.com/toy_review/2014/yf29_durandal_valkyrie_ozma_lee_custom) Don't worry it might be scary for the first couple of times transforming it but after that they are actually pretty easy and fun to handle. Plus you can apply the gained knowledge to all the other Frontier Valkyries sans the VF-171 and YF-30 For video reviews check out this thread: http://www.macrossworld.com/mwf/index.php?showtopic=40918#entry1111257 [edit:] Just transformed my 30th Anniversary edition I noticed a few things: It is probably a good idea to protect the black painted plastic in front of the cockpit canopy with some kind of low adhesive masking tape because during transformation the base plate of the head turret is likely to scrape on that part. Be careful when moving the turret and the tail fins so you don't stress the parts
  7. Different strokes for different folks I guess. It is something that I notice and now my eyes are always drawn to this area every time I have the figure in hand. Maybe it is just the initial disappointment for the toy. I was hyped after someone mentioned that BBTS as well as TFSource stated that the second production run will have the paint issues fixed. I always have issues with the quality of the Takara Masterpiece line. This started with my very first one (MP-01B) where I thought "this is it?" after I took him out of the box. With my Masterpiece Streak I have the least issues. This figures is just perfect and fun and I wanted MP Lambor to be the same. The figures are still great toys this is the reason why I collect them but from a collector focused line I expect more that his. I think the best Takara Transformers I have in my collection are the Alternity toys.
  8. I would try to get a VF-25A with an additional set of VF-25A Super Parts to see what this is all about. Most of the Frontier Valkyries have the same transformation scheme anyway so you get a pretty good impression. Both are available for a reasonable price over at http://www.nippon-yasan.com/modules/blocksearchtim/search.php?orderby=position&orderway=desc&search_query=vf-25a&id_category=none .
  9. You should keep in mind that the YF-29 Isamu Custom was a web-shop exclusive when making assumptions about the release of the Frontier toys. I think this won't be as hard to get as the YF-29 Ozma Custom but you never know.
  10. Yeah that is what I did want do describe actually. It just looks greenish to me if the yellow paint is not 100% opaque.
  11. Nice a full sized radar-fin and still able to rest on its landing gear. The next question would be if you can transform it without removing the radar-dish.
  12. Hard to tell from the images but does anyone has a green tint on their yellow trim? On the images they look all very saturated. My YF-21 Gnu-Dou has only one layer of yellow paint on the cowl. I fear that my YF-29 has the same issue. The worst area are the yellow lines around the missile pods on the legs.
  13. So I received mine from NY today. It has some stress marks around the main hinges for the wings (the ones to angle the wings for the backpack inwards). The hinges are very stiff so maybe that is the reason why. They are very small but I'm worried that they get bigger. Has anyone success with removing stress marks with a hair dryer on such a Bandai Frontier Valkyrie? Other than that this is a gorgeous plane. The cockpit canopy is a bit dark or the main color of the Valkyrie is not dark enough for the canopy. Not sure.... The yellow trim is somewhere a bit light so it has a green tint but qc-wise it is much better than my YF-29 30th Anniversary and it has hard plastic head lasers too! Yay
  14. Is this able to transform without detaching the radar dome at all? How do you transform the arms? It will be interesting to see how the radar fin is attached. So if it will be possible to put the RVF-171 on its landing gears. I will say I maybe considering an order if Bandai includes a set of spare shoulder triangles for the VF-171CF... yes I'm that desperate!
  15. I see a nearly 90 degree elbow bend on MP-22!
  16. It does make sense.
  17. I feel that is only neglected VF that hasn't got a proper 1/60-ish (Arcadia or DX Chogokin) treatment. I mean it was prominently featured in official Macross animation. The other one might be the VF-5000 but that wasn't flown by a main character. What other VF designs you have in mind? I'm not a Macross expert so I'm interested in new data.
  18. Yay I need this Nemesis toy from Maketoys. This is a complete transforming toy like their Hyper Novae right? It doesn't need the Collectors Club Scourge?
  19. Thanks for the advice. So any idea if it is possible to fix the oversprayed silver on the lower legs? This is the worst spot for me since he will be in robot-mode most of the time. This and the terrible gun but I guess I could strip all the paint and paint it again since it is all silver. I only fear of soaking the gun in paint thinner since I melted a A-10 Warthog gun-pod that way. My MP Streak is just so perfect and I want to be Lambor too.
  20. So I'm debating if I should return my MP-12 Lambor. I made some images that shows the defects on mine. In addition the gun on mine has terrible qc with mold grates, dusk inclusions and splotchy paint that my camera won't pick up well. In addition the hood doesn't lock into place at the white waist tab and I have a circle of denser red paint on the roof. Has someone advice what to do. To me the defects on mine are rather severe compared to other Lambors I've seen. I have to pay import fees and sales taxes a second time when I'm ordering a new one.
  21. What we need to get a VF-2SS done is a rich mecha fan with a limitless love for Macross 2, the VF-2SS and the fandom. This super-fan would go to Arcadia give them a lot of money and than they would produce a limited run of that toy. There it's not that hard.
  22. Oh well my YF-29 from was caught by customs. I don't like where this goes.... fees, fees, fess and taxes *sing*
