Too bad they didn't have the small stand that supported the nose of the first Koenig Monster prototype so we can have the: will it stand without support discussion all over again.

[edit: ] What jenius said! Ok you should check out http://www.anymoon.com which has a list of most of the Bandai releases. Keep in mind that there are two lines of Bandai Macross Frontier Valkyries that are from the DX Chogokin line. The version 1 (V1) Valkyries are from when Macross Frontier aired and are pretty terrible compared with the new releases that are called Renewals. The easiest way to determine them is by packaging. The renewals have a white background where the V1s have a blackish one. On the website I linked earlier you can also see some comparisons of the box and the toys itself. There are also videos linked to transformations, reviews and comparisons. The V1 Valkyries from Frontier are cheap to get and are maybe only worthwhile when displaying them in Fighter-Mode. Their Battroid- and especially the Gerwalk-Mode are lacking. The Renewals on the other hand are pretty good and exceed the V1 in every way. The renewals are pretty hard to get (read they are expensive) if you want a specific release (like say Ozmas VF-25S) others are less expensive like the cannon fodder VF-25A. Most of the add-on (Super and Armored Parts) sets where web shop exclusives (i.e. even a more limited release) and are also expensive depending on the Valkyrie or are packaged with the Valkyrie as a bundle (only the Super VF-27) Bandai has now started to release every color variant of the main Frontier Valkyrie and reissued the main hero variant the VF-25F. This scheme will probably continue until the new series comes out to cash in all the money. Almost all the Renewal Valkyries sell for over MSRP (which is 14400 Yen) so if you find a toy for less than that it is either a V1, a broken Renewal toy or a 1/72 scale transformable model-kit (or you are really really lucky). So if you buy one from the second market make sure you exactly know what you are looking at. Good hunting.

In addition you need space for the hip joint which is more problematic than the Gerwalk-joint. [edit:] I think the way the VF-19 hip joints where designed was the major reason not to include removable intake cover.

You obviously have played too much Zone of the Enders.

Ok so I might be terribly wrong but the first images show the Koenig Monster in a greenish color (more like the Yamato release) now this image he look more brownish like the previous version. The picture in the first post show two Koenig Monsters with different colors. At first glance I thought that this was to compare the new release with the old one. But now it seems like that there are two color variants with the same nose art. Maybe I'm colorblind and don't know it yet.

So they are releasing two color variants one from the movie and one from the show? I missed that completely. Are both versions gonna be a web shop exclusive?

If you look at this picture posted earlier posted in this thread you can see that the RVF-171 has not a full set of Armor parts. Since it has the same base color than Altos and the Armor Parts don't have a highlight color I would say that the add-on set for the VF-171EX would fist best. On the other hand you can see in the picture that the Valkyrie is equipped with missiles you would need to paint the red highlights on the wings green to get fitting wings. Since every release so far got/will get their add-on set I'm sure Bandai won't miss out on this one. I don't know if it would come with drones because I can't remember Luca having them in the show.

I'm sure KFC would've never released Citizen Stack if they had known that MP-22 will be a all in one transformation. Unit they revealed the Ultra Magnus prototype it was set in stone that MP Magnus will be a white Convoy with add on armor that forms the trailer. Of course people now try to justify the purchase of stack because they invested a good junk of money on it but I think most Transformers collectors will go for a HasTak toy rather than a 3rd party one if they have the chance. I would simply because 3rd party manufacturers mostly don't get the head right.- 17378 replies

Worst Science Fiction Film of All Time II: The Quickening
Scyla replied to areaseven's topic in Anime or Science Fiction
True, but some countries have a huge amount of inapt lawyers that track down people who download media from the Internet through torrents and sue them with copyright infringements. So the preferred way to watch movies/shows is streaming because this is not violating the copyright.- 854 replies

Well it had no landing gear, no cockpit and iirc some of the joints in the arms where prone of developing stress marks. Has someone a confirmation that this release will be different in any way engineering wise?

The bumper is red because it was red in the show/movie. How to solve it: buy a MP-10 and salvage the chromed bumper from Convoy... or wait if Reprolabels issues a sticker sheet that will cover the bumper with chromed stickers.- 9341 replies

I feel bad now because no issue (not even the severe ones) I have with the toy is a deal breaker. MP-22 will be closest to the image of Ultra Magnus I have in my mind since I saw him in the show/movie/comics as a child but it could be so much better in my opinion. [edit:] Are those pictures showing the painted prototype from the Tokyo toy show or is it already cast in plastic? I think I can make out some brush strokes so I think it is the prototype.- 17378 replies
