  1. Hard to tell. I just rewatched the opening and they look like a light gray to me. Maybe the have the same color as the VF-22S Max or the VF-19P.
  2. I'm not taking any chances. IF I ever come across a magical lamp I want to make sure that my Valkyrie will fly, transform and look the part in all three modes. And yes I have basically no imagination!
  3. On all my Frontier toys the hinges that hold the chest plate, shoulder blocks and backpack together are the tightest joints on the Messiahs. They hold almost all the poses I can imagine.
  4. And larger too? I think the one think that the VF-2SS lacks is its size. Make it bigger! I think I have to exclude the VF-19A out of my list and go with the Messiah. I figured that only the Valkyries form the Zero era onwards are doing it for me because due to the fact that they are based on 3D models they would actually look close to what they look in the show. For all the other Valkyries you have to make a trade-off in one or the other mode.
  5. But can the VF-2SS actually fly? I mean if the Valkyrie is a magical being it will fly no matter what. Or is the Genie so bored in his lamp that he earned his physics PhD while waiting for a new master so he will only grant wishes that are plausible.
  6. So as I have absolutely no feelings about Robotech since I never watched it.... ...I have a question. Robotech is loved by the Fans because it is based on three great to ok Japanese TV shows. HG can't make new based animation based on the three series because they don't have the rights to do so. They only have the distribution rights. So if the new Robotech show is only vaguely based the original series why should fans of Robotech care about a new show if no links to the original are present?
  7. Probably a VF-25S with all the add-on sets (Tornado-, Armored- and Super-Parts). Or a Super VF-19A
  8. LaSalle is that you?
  9. I display mine with the chest pointing down as much as possible and the shoulder bits slightly angled down the back. I think that they look way to skinny if you fold the shoulder bits down all the way. The VF-25 is already a lanky Valkyries so to me angling them down makes this even worse.
  10. I agree. I watched DYRL after SDF-M and still had a hard time figuring out what is going on. Has anyone impressions from people who saw DYRL without any prior knowledge about any parts of the Macross story.
  11. After I watched the transformation video a second time I think there is a good chance that it can stand without the prongs in Battroid- and Gerwalk-Mode. It probably will be floppy so if you want play with the YF-30 you should attach them so it stays together well. It worries me that the nosecone is that floppy and that they didn't include some kind of clip or a ratcheted joint or something like that. Maybe he transformed a prototype so it will be fixed on the release. It would be interesting if someone could translate the captions on the screen. Maybe the panic will calm down if they would state that the prongs are optional.
  12. So I ordered the two Walkure Romanze figures from Daiki Kougyo. Is there a new site that I can check to see if the release the other main characters from the series? I need them in my life because.... you know ocd and stuff....
  13. I think they need funding to reestablish the death grip for Macross once the current license runs out. So they thought we create a Kickstarter to raise money and divide it into two pots. One for making the promised episode ($150k) and the rest to pay Big West ($350k+). They probably think this will buy them enough time to come up with something genuine. On the other hand why not bring Macross Frontier over as Robotech Academy? There was an academy where pilots and songstresses where trained in that show.... ..even with new names, terrible US pop-music and a godawful English dub it will probably better than what they are planning to do with this KS.
  14. They are up on NY as well. http://www.nippon-yasan.com/figure-sailor-moon/7853-sh-figuarts-sailor-neptune-limited-edition.html http://www.nippon-yasan.com/figure-sailor-moon/7854-sh-figuarts-sailor-uranus-limited-edition.html
  15. Oh Bandai why??? Regarding the fists I think the guy in the video switched the articulated hands out with the additional hands that hat the gun-pod already attached so he doesn't has to place it in the hands. I don't see a reasons why the hands can't be stored in Fighter-Mode. The prongs are.... ugly. They could at least engineered some locking points to hold the torso in place like on the V1 VF-25 for the crotch area. -.-
  16. Today I finished my first Gunpla models after I built a HG kit 15 years ago. First I did a RG Destiny as a test bed and then an MG Nu Gundam. The members on the board where right. A matte coat really makes the models stand out. I think I overdid it a bit because I needed more than one cans of coat. The builds went well but I made some mistakes because I was too impatient. Maybe I will post some pictures tomorrow. Next projects will be the Hi-Nu Gundam and the Sazabi as MGs and maybe some more RGs from Seed/Seed Destiny. Thanks for all the help from the board members. To apply all the stickers to the Ver. Ka Gundam was exhausting.
  17. Hm besides the packaging? Check out jenius review: http://anymoon.com/blog/?p=6957 It has many comparison pictures. The Super VF-27 has gray instead of white markings. The hip area is different. On the Super VF-27 there are two indents on the side of the underside in Fighter-Mode to accept the prongs from the hip area. On the old VF-27 they aren't there and there is a single trap door in the middle of the underside to clip the hip in. [edit:] Oh and the newer version has the Super Parts where the old one never got them.
  18. I love the colors on the VF-27γ much more than the green of the VF-27β but maybe I'm different!
  19. I had the plan to display Luca without any add-on sets but with the Ghost drones. Now that Bandai bundled the drones with the Super Parts I have the RVF-25 with Super Parts and a bare VF-25A
  20. So I received my FansToys Scoria and after having experience with their Quakewave toy it is kind of a letdown. QC issues all over the place mostly paint strokes not hitting the designated area which I can easily remove. A few other things are more of a concern to me. The second head has fallen into the dirt while the paint was drying. The die cast feet have a wired finish in some areas. It looks like as if they are covered in bruises. I think I can remove them with a polishing cloth. A piece of chrome is missing on the side of his robot chest plate. Other than that I noticed some wrong design choices. Where Quakewave hat ratchet joint in the right areas to hold all different kinds of poses Scoria is missing them in vital areas like the shoulder joint. The hips have the same design as MP Grimlock where they can fold down to make room for the transformation. In this area the joints are too weak for the weight of the legs. The legs are very heavy so I'm not sure how they could hold poses even if the transformation joint in the hip was super tight. Also in some areas the plastic is very thin on the edges like the sides of the back plate and panels that cover the forearm where the fists store. Here I would have liked thicker plastic because to me it looks better than the thin edges for an aesthetic point of view. Other than that I think it is a good figure but after they knocked it out of the park with Quakewave I expected a better product. I think the problem was that this figure has clear parts, chromed parts lots of (small) painted compared to Quakewave so I think their factory was not suited for such a jump in complexity. I will try to get some replacement parts form the shop where I bought Scoria and hopefully they can figure out how to reduce the qc issues because I'm looking forward to their next release. [edit:] After handling the toy some more I notice some strange design choices. Like the hind legs in alt mode have a beefy ball joints on the thighs and ratchets on the knees which would be great for holding weapons and posing but sadly they are on the wrong legs. The front legs have a friction joint on the elbows and a shoulder rotation as well as a ratchet for the outward motion. Sadly the friction joints are not strong enough to hold the weapons but are ok for posing in alt mode. All the other joints have great ratchets (besides the transformation joint on the waist) so why leave the out on the arms in robot mode. There would be a real benefit. Even the head ratchets from side to side. The chromed plastic look f'in great especially on the head. I could have done without the die cast (even if I like the material itself) since it makes the arms and legs heavy and because the are anodized (I believe) instead of chromed the area a strange mismatch with the chromed plastic. However the material look is identical to MP Grimlock (which is a good thing I guess). dl:dr Good solid toy with (some questionable design decisions) but a letdown after Quakewave.
  21. What was that bit at the beginning? Part 3 was very informative. I would like to hear something similar about Macross 7
  22. It is quite terrible at least for my tastes. I always wanted a transforming MP Jetfire from the show so I'm hoping for FT to make one. I think he is to huge for Takara for justifying it. Maybe I don't like it because the design of Jetfire is just terrible and is not suited for a good Transformer. On the other hand I think the problem I have with Kronos is the fact that he doesn't transform. I mean sure he can do spaceship to robot but none of the parts transforms. They just hang in big junks on a frame and change position. Nothing is concealed in alt-mode. Hm I don't know if I can get my point across it is hard to describe why I don't like Kronos as a transforming robot and why I think MP-10 is pretty awesome. Maybe I have to watch the video a few more times to examine this one a bit further.
