  1. First look for the MG Hi Nu Gundam Ver. Ka: http://www.gaijin-gunpla.com/2014/08/hi-nu-gundam-ver-ka-first-look/ It has some small transformations which is cool but I wished for a Psycho Frame like the Nu Gundam Ver. Ka. There is also a video up on HobbyLinkTv where Syd from HLJ is building the kit: Can't wait for mine to arrive. I haven't gotten an invoice from HLJ for the Hi-Nu but it is weekend is Japan so maybe I will get it on Monday. [edit:] I don't like the missing "camo pattern" on the shield. I wonder why it is missing. Damn you Katoki!
  2. How is the sniper rifle attached to the Valkyrie?
  3. I also received my copy of the Chronos. It is pretty awesome. Sadly it has some minor paint scratches mainly on the black trim areas (e.g. the waist, the chest armor). Now my Frontier era collection is pretty much done if my Tornado Parts for the VF-25G come in. Maybe I need a YF-25 and VF-171EX Alto Custom to cover all the head variants but I'm sure that are slots I can fill until the new Macross show comes around, Bandai decides to release a V3 Messiah or Bandai releases add-on sets for the Chronos. After fiddling with the support pieces I spend some time thinking about all the weird support pieces Bandai included over the years. Maybe they designed them after the main toy was done and the test shots of the Valkyrie revealed major design flaws like being unable to produce enough friction to hold the gun-pod in Fighter-Mode on the Armored Messiah or keeping everything locked together for the YF-30. Instead of redesigning the toy Bandai just added some addtional plastic to save costs. One thing I noticed when handling the missile rack. Why did Bandai stop painting the white circle around the war heads of the missiles they included with the Armor Parts of the Messiahs? They look so much nicer with the additional detail.
  4. I won't buy unlicensed Macross toys because my Macross funds are finite and I think that it is better invested in products from a small toy manufacturer called Arcadia. With my transforming robots funds it is different because Hasbro only releases very/very tiny parts of their Transformers line in my country so even if I would like to buy main line Transformers toys I have to import them. So Hasbro is loosing no domestic sales due to my collection of toys. However the collector oriented Transformers releases come first after the transforming robots from independent toy manufacturers regular Transformers toys aimed at children come second. Due to finite shelf space my investment in regular Transformers toys is very little but I buy the stuff I can get and that fit in my collection. I also think that --as David Hingtgen mentioned-- there is a difference between Macross and Transformers products. For a Macross product I want the version that is shown in the line art and I want it with all the appropriate markings in the right color with the correct accessories and the accurate transformation. And yes the designer of the Yamato VF-17 should go to hell for not including the markings on the Nightmare. ;) A independent toy manufacturer that offers all of the points mentioned above is much closer to copying official and licensed goods than most of the manufacturer that produce transforming robots (I'm looking at you iGear). Not that one or the other is "more" illegal but I think it is more likely that the rights holders will strike against the first version of copy right infringement. In my eyes this makes it more of a gamble if an advertised product will be released or not. I also think that much more individual artistic energy and engineering efforts goes into the so called 3rd party transforming robots toys than into this SD SDF-1. I'm sure this makes me sound like a hypocrite to some but that's the way I see it. I'm also aware that some of the transforming robots in my collection don't fit into my described modus operandi. Manly the Heart of Steel toys from MMC who are toys based on the illustrations of Guido Guidi (but I'm too much of a Black Prime/Skywarp/Shockwave fan to pass on these) and my FansToys bots. Oh well maybe I should just preorder the SD SDF-1 because I'm such a hypocrite.
  5. I assume this depends whether the shop declares the correct value on the the box or not.
  6. Looking at the line art of the VF-2SS on M3 i just imagine how much fun it would be playing with one that has all the gimmicks. Railguns popping out left and right of the packs and there are missile ports and giant BFGs that swivel around. I would definitely buy all the four color variants of this toy posted earlier in this thread.
  7. Small in its size. In Battroid-Mode it is only 14 meters high. As a comment I have to say that my Motorola Razr V3 is much smaller than all the smartphones I see in stores.
  8. I voted for the VF-2SS. The only problem with this Valkyrie is its size. It is just too small for such an advanced Valkyrie. Second vote goes to the VF-11MAXL (and the VF-17T) because Sound Force.
  9. NY lists end of September for the YF-29 Super Parts.
  10. I found the VF-19 much easier to transform back to Fighter-Mode. From Fighter- to Battroid-Mode there are hidden tabs and stiff joints that make it daring to touch them.
  11. Never saw one from Battroid- to Fighter-Mode. Do you have problems with the transformation back to Fighter-Mode?
  12. Open it! Did you order the version with the throne?
  13. I thought this is fairly regular for the first batch. I think the MG Sazabi Ver. KA had also a sold out preorder. I think they will get more stock later on. However the add-on set for the Hi-Nu was sold out pretty quickly so maybe there is some strange shortage on this one. I have the base mech preordered though to have something for the gray and rainy autumn days.
  14. It looks great. I hope it looks the par besides Lambor. It would be nice if it had the same sloppy paint-job. Did you do some design work on this one?
  15. I think if you're spoiled by the shipping rates that professional seller over you it is expensive. I really hope the first wave will be a success *fingers crossed*.
  16. So the shipping cots will be $62 for up to 10 stands?
  17. The Dinobots look great as a group: I wish I could buy them in a brick and mortar but I can't find them in my place of the world and I'm not buying whole case assortments with Transformers I don't like and don't want.
  18. TFCs Predaking homage does nothing for me and I said this several times so I should probably stop. I have one remark about the pros & cons you posted slaginpit. You extended the legs to much on Leo Dux. In the default setting the thin upper legs are less of a problem, especially if you use the lower joint for leg movement. [edit:] I just opened my Talon and so far I think I have the most issues with him out of all the Feral Rex members so far. A bit of overspray on the wings and a few black paint splotches. Besides my usual gripes about the tail I have to add the following nitpicks: I really wished that the shoulder pauldrons could swing 90 degrees downwards. This way the wings could be folded inwards a bit more and thus make him look more like a bird standing there. Everything on the previous releases locked into place so far so it is a real bummer that the chest panel that covers the connector port just rests there The tale of peg holes that a bit too tight to hold the melee weapons continues. There are some pegs on the wing backpack that would be ideal to store the daggers but they just won'f with without stressing the plastic. Also a bit more elbow movement would have been nice. Other than that I can't wait for Tigris.
  19. Leader Jetfire available at HLJ: http://www.hlj.com/product/TKT81292/Sci I like the black details on the guns.
  20. But the new one will not have the gray visor and is therefore terrible!
  21. Thanks I changed it. I just though CDJapan would mark-up items because they seem to have more stock for preorder as the rest of the stores. I guess my impression was wrong.
