  1. If you are interested in MMCs Feral Rex I would get Tigris (or preorder Felisaber with the early bird discount) It is the barest release of the bunch but it is a fun toy to handle and play around with so you know what to expect from MMC. From there it gets better and better with the other team members. I also would prefer Green Giant (as far as I understand it the green one has some improvements over the yellow one) over Hercules because TFCs design language and engineering does nothing to me. The downside of Giant is that the bot modes are very lackluster. With Feral Rex you get toys that are good in every mode imho. I still don't get why people dislike the animal modes because they are very poseable and look like a mechanized version of the animal they are representing. Nor more or less accurate than any of the other mechanical beasts in the TF universe sans the Beast Wars bots with their shellforming hide. I hope I can make some comparisons between Feral Rex and M³ if (IF) DHL manages to intercept the package with Menasor in it before they send it back to the States. Oh I also got something *grabs into the toy bin*:
  2. Not a anime topic per se but I would love to have the original cast from Street Fighter 2 as S.H.Figuarts or Figma toys. I know Playarts Kai is doing some but they don't appeal to me.
  3. I hope Takara invests in some paint for the details inside Star Sabers shoulders.
  4. So it seems like that DHL is shipping my package with the M³ team back to the States because they messed up. It was already in 20 mile radius of my home. Stupid DHL this was already the third time in a year that they messed up a delivery. They didn't lost the package they just sent it back to its origin. One of the three I managed to get from the post office because I noticed it fast enough. The other one was lost forever. So I'd say it is a 50/50 situation if the package will arrive at my place. Will do some investigations with customs tomorrow because they already sent me the notice that the package arrived and I should sent them the invoice to calculate tax and fees because TFSource was unable to add the correct price. I'm pissed right now! !§"!%/§$%§"$$!"§ *flips chair Bad Cop style* Has anyone of you experience in handling such a situation?
  5. Mine doesn't need it in Battroid-Mode and the conventional Gerwalk-Mode. The Gerwalk-Mode with the waist joint down has a sagging back but it is able to stay up as long as you don't touch it. I would imagine that it would sag over time without the support piece.
  6. I said it before and I will say it again I want all the "advanced" suits from EW either as RG or as MG. The one gattling gun on the normal Heavy Arms doesn't do it for me.
  7. So both swords will be included in the base package? No Amazon exclusive parts? If so great news. Come on Takara announce the black e-hobby exclusive already. The yellow paint is much too garish.
  8. Please take the flowing sentences with a huge pile of salt because I can't read Japanese nor have I ever built such a kit. My best guess is that the two wires from 54-1 there is one from the chest and one from the head and on step 55 there is also one from the head and one from the chest LED because they should create an electrical circuit. He seems to have one gray wire and one black wire fixated by the same screw maybe check this video out to get an idea. He doesn't show the wiring of the part but you get an idea what goes where ad Minute 5:50. The screw in 54-2 should not pinch trough the wires. The washer part of the piece from 54-2 where the screw goes through should pinch the wires between the battery compartment and the metal washer. The same goes for the small 25 mm piece of wire. This is both indicated buy the symbol with the question mark. I would fixate one end of the wire to the switch first and than screw in the washer bit. Second install the switch and third try to fiddle the wire into its position Checking the manual pictures for a second time it could also indicate to insert the wires inside the hole for the screw where the gap is on the piece. However this is hard to tell from the images. So you should probably get a second opinion on this.
  9. I have the Bubblegum Crisis Blu-Ray set from the Kickstarter campaign. Volume 4 of the original OVA was my first anime VHS tape and it is barely watchable after all this years. So I really would like to have a group of nice 1/6 scale Knight Sabers. Die cast metal, highly poseable with effect parts, additional heads, etc. The other think I would die for would be a nice toy line for the Bismarck tv-series (aka Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs). the Bismark, the protagonists, the vehicles. All as nice high end collectible toys. Oh one can dream. Bismarck was my introduction to anime because Roboteck never run on tv in my country. So you can probably imagine what this show means to me.
  10. I have to agree that the F-22 looks much better than the YF-22. I wonder how a F-23 would've looked like.
  11. I have to say I'm a little bit disappointed about Talon and Tigris after having all of Feral Rex in hand. The first issue would be the missing paint details. I think it is a detriment to the toys that the vents are not painted with another color. On Leo Dux the shoulder vents look so nice with the red highlights. The red thighs on Tigris and the lower legs on Talon would also benefit from additional paint apps in a different color. The second issue are the many pieces that don't lock into place. Such things as the chest panel on Talon, the upper arms on Tigris, or the pouches on the side of the legs. Because they are a different material they won't stay in place very well without some pegs. Thirdly some of the joint design and mechanisms are questionable. The main thing would be the joint in the abdomen. The idea is pretty amazing and I prefer this over the thigh-gap forearms on most other combiners but I thing they could offer more range of motion. Then I don't understand why there is no ratchet in the waist rotation. MMCs Airborne Squad has this and is such a nice design. Combined Mode would have preferred from this as well. Speaking of ratchets. The ellbow joints of the two toys have indentations for ratchets but seem to be only friction joints. Finally I think MMC got a bit lazy with the transformations. The fact that Tigris' head just rests there in arm mode and his animal legs just sit there on the side. I think a system like on Fortis and Bovis where the front legs swing on the lower calves in leg mode would be great for Tigris. There the legs could swing around on the underside of the arm and balance out the main gun on the underside on the Talon arm. On Talon I would've preferred a mechanism to tuck away the bird tail. I think some my issues come from the Combiner Wars. If MMC had more time and had not to compete with TFC they would've been able to fix this. I for myself would've rather waited for another year to have the toys in hand and payed more for additional paint applications. However I think that is something that you can't communicate to most of the people invested in the Feral Rex team especially with all the delays. That said I think Feral Rex is the best combiner out there (I will get FPs M³ to compare them both). To me he looks way better than TFCs Ares which looks far to busy and fidgety and looks not as cohesive in combined mode. Ares way to busy for my likings too many small paint apps visible in combined mode. His silhouette has also too many gaps especially between the piece between the hips and the shoulder area is weird looking to me. To sum it up the TFC aesthetic does nothing for me. The greatest success on Feral Rex is the combining sword I think. The Oppenheimer Sword is just an amazing feat of engineering. Overall I'm very happy with my Feral Rex and I'm looking forward for the next MMCs products. I'm definitely on board for their Fembots and Seraph. I'm still undecided on the final iteration of their Sixshot and the DJD. If they really doing a Overlord and Abominus or Piranacon I'm a happy camper. Rant is over.
  12. The Berkut deco is mighty nice.
  13. If you don't like the six member figuration you can always let him sit on Rex' left shoulder (the right one is booked for Feral Queen ).
  14. It is not necessary needed. However you can do a six member Feral Rex with Talon as a backpack (it just hangs there) and Felisaber as an arm. Their not-Catilla will come with extras such as red hooves for Bovis, alternate Faces for Bovis and Fortis, a Feral Rex biocard, a secret mini figure and a comic with an alternate ending for the Feral Rex comic.
  15. My black Toy World Orion has arrived today. He is a cool little toy. I'm not sure if I'll ever have the courage to transform him but he is mighty nice. It has a few QC issues I could make out like paint overspray and a small stress mark on the armature that holds the bumper. It has a lot of ratcheted joints of various quality from buttery soft to plastic-grinding tight. The thing I don't like is the inability to snap the head into a fixed position. With all the taps all over the place it looks like a oversight to me. Also the head on mine can only turn left and right. I don't know if he can't look up or down by design or if the joint is stuck. Overall I like having him in my Black Convoy collection. It is something different from the default Convoy transformation with the fake grill we come to accept. The transformation is daring from what I've seen. So maybe I should transform him to see if the transformation was worth it. [edit:] I really need better faction stickers. The one from Reprolabels are not doing it for me.
  16. My VF-25g Tornado Messiah is too large for my display cabinets. Damn you Kawamori! Maybe I will remove the VTOL nacelles. That might be a good idea considering how heavy the parts are (I will display mine in Battroid-Mode).
  17. The MP-09 is such a nice toy I only wished that the manufacturing tolerances had kept up with the design. [edit:] This seller offers several other replacement parts for MP-09. So it might be worth checking out if you have a crumbled shoulder or ankle.
  18. So I ordered some replacement parts for my MP-09B Evil Destron Doppelgaenger from http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-knee-repair-parts-Applicable-for-Transformers-mp09-Hot-Rod-Rodimus-Prime/271576557689?_trksid=p2047675.c100010.m2109&_trkparms=aid%3D555012%26algo%3DPW.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131231084308%26meid%3Dc34a71ee2c634755b96836f33efe5cda%26pid%3D100010%26prg%3D20131231084308%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D24%26sd%3D390910792082 They are pretty nice and my Rodimus is able to stand on his own once again. I had to to some tinkering to get the fit well which includes trimming the springs a bit to release tension from the joint. Sadly I noticed that the upper shin part of the leg where the cracks first appeared (and which I tried to fix with a washer) has a crumbled inner peg where the screw goes in. So I probably won't transform him into alt-mode anymore. Does anyone know if I can stabilize the part where the screw goes in? It is the one right below the knee joint you can see on the image.
  19. Oh, what is this dangling on the underside of your Chunky Monkey? A laser turret!!! It look great. Can't wait to have it in hands. I wonder if it has attachment for a combined mode as well.
  20. The MG Nu Gundam Ver. KA was the first kit from Bandai where I used the waterslide decals. I used a decal softener and removed access fluid with a q-tip. After that I spray coated the kit. I only had two problems with the decals. One where I used to much of the softener and another one that became brittle before I could coat it.
  21. I'm sorry I just don't get the appeal of an LED anywhere in my toys. I'm so glad that the gimmick on my Feral Red is so unobtrusive.
  22. I can't tell you how glad I am that the "new" Masterpiece line has no LED gimmicks. I f'in hate LEDs in my collector toys.
  23. My Tornado Parts arrived today (had to pay $20 taxes and fees ). Hadn't time to put them on yet since my VF-25G is sporting the Super Parts which I really like due to the pallet swap. The package arrived in very good shape from NY. While I was inspecting the parts I noticed that the support pieces and the piece for gun attachment where in a small bag that was taped to the plastic tray. This seems to indicate to me that those parts where an afterthought and Bandai realized that the parts where too heavy without the additional support. I think they where trying to do them without any additional parts but came to the conclusion that they need the support for decent handling. The same goes for the piece that attaches the gun-pod/sniper rifle to the forearms. All those parts gonna be a nightmare to keep track off.
