  1. The Hi-Nu made me angry. First because it does not have the camo pattern on the shield. Second because the heavy weapon pack was not widely available. *sad panda*
  2. I see. I bought some paint cans today. Light Gun Metal (TS-42) for the Sazabi and Metallic Gold (TS-84) for the Strike Freedom. The TS-84 was f'in expensive. Almost twice the price of a RG kit ($30). No wonder Bandai is hesitant with coating their kits gold. The only good thing is that the shop had a 20% off sale so the impact on my wallet was not quite as high. The sale almost made me buy the new LEGO Star Wars Star Destroyer but I decided that enough money was spent already. I'm planning on painting the frame tomorrow so I might post some results in this thread. Humidity will be at around 50% but I think this will be the last chance for painting this year.
  3. I think the reason why Arcadia released the YF-19 and the VF-0D is that Yamato already developed these toys and planned on releasing them next thus a good portion of the development work was already done. I wonder what the next new mold will be. I hope that there will be a new mold.
  4. The strike pack comes with the Skygrapser right? Is this kit worth the asking price? I thought about picking one up to have a complete RG Seed²/Destiny line once I have all the suits finished. The PG Strike Gundame comes with tis giant knife. Is there a way to get this for the RG?
  5. Well I think I have to hurry up before the weather doesn't allow any painting outside.
  6. Hm yeah it will take a while till I get start building. Tight schedule at the moment and I think I have to do some painting on the frame. The frame of the Strike Freedom definitely need some golden paint. Maybe I paint the silver parts of the Sazabi too but I have to see how the Strike Freedom turns out. Haven't painted anything since 2005.
  7. A big package arrived from HLJ today: RG Strike Freedom, Justice and Aile Strike together with MG Hi Nu and Sazabi Ver. Ka. This will be my stack for the long and (hopefully) cold winter evenings that lie ahead.
  8. It is not the rainbow colored canopy? Like the last VF-1 in this picture from http://www.anymoon.com:
  9. But AE requires payment up front.
  10. That was basically how my Super Parts where packed too.
  11. Scyla

    Macross figures

Creeptastic. If I have the choice my money goes to the VF-0D. I also dislike the Barbie-like hair. Looks too uncanny.
  12. I got my Wheeljack today from HLJ. He is pretty nice but I think Bluestreak is still my favorite. The QC is better than Lambor but there are a few spots where the paint is already rubbed off. I also don't like the fact that the part of the front windshield that pegs into the hood is not connected all the way to the windshield. It was kinda scary to detach the lower legs because I feared that the windshield part might snap because it taps so securely into hood part. That gif is hilarious Gakken85.
  13. NY changed their cancellation policy a while ago. Basically you're not allowed to cancel a preorder. If you try to cancel one they will delete your account and all your other preorders. However board members wrote that they had success canceling items through the customer support without any repercussions. Regarding the new VF-0D. Since the Phoenix was the first Valkyrie with a CAD model that transformed for the show Arcadia can not do many things to improve the look of the toy since everything is set in stone by the CAD model from the show. They can change fit and finish as well as select different materials. They also can smoothen out the transformation and gimmicks (such as the pivot on the pilots seat). The only major think they could have changed would be the leg delivery mechanism but the struts in the show are already reality bending thin so probably not a good idea. So I was not expecting a toy that looks different from the previous iteration of the Phoenix (minus the D parts).
  14. Man, Michelangelo looks like he's having a stroke. The pose the head was in for the review caused actual pain in my neck because it looks so unnatural: On the other hand the figures look like they are fun to handle. Sadly no funds at the moment (damn you Arcadia).
  15. I only applied stickers to my VF-17S because to me the Valkyrie is incomplete without the kites and the Diamond Force insignia (and the arrows on the Super Parts). I don't like the stickers because they suck. I hate the excess transparent film around the stickers and that they are not opaque (I can still see the black though the decals on the Nightmare) and I hate to trim them because I can't get it done perfectly and every imperfection bugs the hell out of me because It doesn't meet the standard I have for myself. I stickered up my RG Destiny Gundam (with all the stickers on the sheet) and flat coated it.... it looks passable from the distant but up close it looks horrendous. So it is ok for a 2000 Yen kit but not for a 25000 Yen collectible. tl:dr Stickers are horrible on collector oriented toys imho.
  16. Depending on where you ordered it from you might get an exchange if the item is still available but I think the only shop where you could do this hassle (and shipping cost) free would be hlj... you might still get a partial refund at least. That is a really strange thing to happen. I can't imagine that Bandai assembles two Valkyries in two parallel factory lines. Maybe your gun-pod was messed up and they had some excess stock form the YF-29 Ozma Custom lying around.
  17. This is the one right? https://www.nippon-yasan.com/japanese-video-games-playstation-3/6450-ps3-the-movie-macross-f-30th-d-shudisuta-b-box-limited-edition.html I'm looking for the bluray version.
  18. What do you mean with different? Different from the YF-29 gun or different from the gun you saw in the images in this thread?
  19. I think the usual discount HLJ offers for this kind of items is 10%. With additional 10% from the Black Friday sale we could get a price shy of 30k Yen. I'm not sure I'm willing to pay that much especially if Arcadia releases the VF-1J GBP bundle in January which I would like to get. Poor release schedule Arcaida. You robbing yourself from sales. Especially with the 6 month drought after the YF-19 release which was in March and the VF-19 Kai in September.
  20. I haven't watched the two Frontier movies yet (is the BluRay set with subs still in print?) but DYRL would've confused the crap out of me if I hadn't watched the tv-show first. I need to show DYRL to some friends who don't know the tv-show to see if they can follow the plot.
  21. They have already done a version 2 that fixed some of the issues. However this toy has so many areas that could lead to potential breakage that I think the whole design is flawed to the core. I would appreciate a MP Hod Rod that is in scale with the other cars because I really like Hot Rod. Rodimus Prime on the other side.... ...that said MP-09 is a marvel of engineering and I wish it could be a better toy than it is. There are a bunch of not official replacement parts for MP-09 that can fix broken parts and improve them. I have new knee joints for my MP-09B which seem to be much more solid than the original (I'm not touching mine anymore because the knees developed more cracks that need to be fixed).
  22. I wonder how a collector oriented MASK toy line would look like..... ...anyhow. Give me Skywarp HasTak NAO!!!!
  23. I know how you feel. The nacelles on my YF-29 30th Anniversary are that way and I removed the Super Parts and display this Valkyrie unaltered now. Ozma is now decked out with Super Parts and he can bear the extra weight .
